We clearly asked for a vehicle that sat 8. Since we have 8 in our family. They promised us such a vehicle. They failed to deliver. And they could not have cared less. So we drove around all weekend with two kids strapped into one seat, dangerous and illegal. We had no recourse.Cons:

The check in took forever, one slow person working. Checking out was easy. What was bad was an extra $750 charge, that we noticed on our credit card 5 days later. When we called they said it's because we returned it to the wrong city. Which was in correct according to my reservation. Also we only rented it to drive a one hour trip. And that's what they charge for a one hour trip?!! Wow.4.4 Mediocre

The employee who I called on Sun. AM to advise him that NV. 93 out of Wells was CLOSED due to a dam bursting (!!!), and that I needed to let them know this would cause me to have to re-route through Salt Lake City to Hwy. 15 Northbound & possibly miss my 5 PM. dropoff Sun. at Butte airport said, "no problem, just drop the keys in the box with your paperwork, we will be closed and we don't know what time you dropped it off because we are closed." BUT- he was there when I got to the airport at 10 PM, accepted the keys, chatted about the fact I had called the day BEFORE and then handed me the receipt- and I didn't read it till the next day ( sorry, I was a LITTLE tired) when I saw they had thoughtfully CHARGED ME FOR AN ENTIRE NEXT DAY! So I went back Monday morning to ask them to correct it- and the same employee who I had called Sat., dropped off the truck to Sun. said the manager would be in later and could be help me? I said I thought it was WRONG to charge me for another whole day when I had CALLED THEM TO ASK FOR A LATE DROPOFF & HAD BEEN TOLD IT WAS NO PROBLEM! He shrugged, and said I needed to speak with the manager. So I called later Mon. (no manager, same guy answered) and then Tuesday (no manager, same guy answered) I am not a whiner, but $280 extra after being told all was well? Mystery manager, not there when I was told to call back- twice? I am usually easy to please but this one frosts my cake... Will call Avis corporate and actually write a letter.Cons:

The car was clean & ready - but one tire was seriously low on air. The Hertz employee went above and beyond and had it repaired in short order by a local tire shop. Drop off was a breeze.Cons:

"Gordon" checked us in and we found him to be pleasant / willing to answer any questions that we had. When I got to the car I noticed a rather large "ding" in the front door, passenger side, which was not noted on the initial paperwork. I brought the ding to Gordon's attention and took a photo. Without any fanfare Gordon noted the damage on our paperwork. Gordon also said he would be available during our rental period should any other needs or concerns arise. His attitude was very much appreciated! :)Cons:
We did not like our experience when we returned the vehicle. The lady just had an attitude that shouted "I don't care!" No greeting.. just, "Picking up or dropping off?"
