10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fantastic. It was intimate, clean, great food, very helpful and accommodating. We loved it ALL!
Cons: Wouldn't have changed a thing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hosts. Great location and facilities. Best homecooked Italian food ever. Probably the best resort we could have found in Mexico. Completely different experience than any of the large hotels in and around Cancun.
Cons: It has now spoiled all the other hotels for us. The bar has been set way too high.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was the best hotel we have stayed at in Mexico. Tranquil, friendly place. We loved our little bungalow! Located right in the jungle, no noise except singing birds and talking geckos. Super clean. The nicest staff. Great hint on how to get to a beautiful beach as well.. And delicious meals prepared by Italian chef :-) Highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is a dream! The hosts are super welcoming, the bungalows well equipped cosy charming and perfectly clean, breakfast is delicious and they offer a beautiful swimmingpool. This is the perfect romantic paradise !
Cons: Everything was absolutely perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Little paradise in the woods. Nice relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Owners are wonderful people. Very hospitable and super friendly. Wonderful to wake up to the sound of all different birds in the forest surrounding the property. Breakfast was superb! We had dinner as well. Really enjoyed our stay!
Cons: WiFi was limited in our cabana, but we found it to be very relaxing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are really taking care of their guests with a lot of kindness, the place is beautiful, the rooms (cabanes) are perfectly organized and well furnished. This place is like paradise! And the breakfast is delicious! I wish I will come back one day in this paradise!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owners, staff, pets, food and the facilities were all wonderful. And our family loved all their pets, especially Ramon! The bungalows are beautiful and even the toiletries are awesome. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was very unique although it was not real cold because it was very hot outside. You can tell that this property is very well taken care of and the owners have put in a lot of effort to make it very nice. And the sheets were very soft too.
Cons: There is truly only one negative and that is lack of air conditioning. It's too hot during the Summer with no air. It would probably be fine during the Winter months but it was a bit rough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, from the location to the room itself and the service. Vanessa and her family are running this hotel in an excellet way. They are always at your disposal and they fulfilled any extra request. One day we had to start the day very early and they ensured the breakfast was delivered at our porch half hour before we had to leave, even if well in advance of the normal operating hours. Also they were always available to give suggesstions on the surrounding turistic areas. The cabin is built in a very nice typical design and give from the get go a feeling of cozyness. All that is needed is there. The cabins are facing a central pool that is very family friendly. Also, the fact you have a kitchen allows to cook you own meals, should you wish to. However, we used the family reastaurant that delivers mexican and Italian specialties really home made and delicious. The location is retired from the main road that brings you to all major locations in the area, from Akumal to Tulum to Cancun or the nerby biosphere. Being in a forest, you really feel the nature and not the cars or any non-natural noise. The sound of nature and the quiteness makes this place very special and the entire family appreciated it above all the hotels visited while being in Mexico. The fact that also the complex leaves almost entirely on solar power makes it amazing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully located eco hotel which is wonderful to have a total relax, chill by the pool
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved it here!! The property is amazing: very natural but also refined. The cabanas (we had a standard one) are also awesome: beautiful and no sacrifices regarding comfort (fridge, kitchen, ...). But the best part of staying here: the staff. Vanessa and her mom are amazing. The food was EXCELLENT, both breakfast and dinner.(Make sure you eat dinner at the villa). They helped me to set up the proposal to my now fiancée with a romantic dinner at our own cabana. More romantic, no way. Muchas gracias y espero que volvamos!!
Cons: That we only stayed for 2 nights

Pros: Really wanted to like but...On first day, requested quiet room but was put near large construction site. Was told that it would be quiet because it was holiday week and not construction would occur. Jackhammers started and 7 a.m. and continued until 7:30 at night. Called to ask why they told me that information, and they didn't have an answer but said the hotel was full and I would have to wait the next day. I called the next day and got the same answer. On the THIRD day, I went to the front desk and told them that I was told I could be moved that day. The front desk said no because others were being moved first. The front desk had no record of these phone calls. I felt lied to and manipulated. They also moved be finally to a room where the fan rattled continuously even when turned off. Hard to sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This all inclusive Wellness retreat is the real deal! Yoga and meditation classes included all day long!!!
Cons: Everyone and everything was fantastic
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The resort is a wonderful size. The staff are fabulous. The food is flavourful. The location is superb. The jacuzzi tub on the patio is a great idea. Every room faces a beautiful ocean view. The snorkelling and swimming were beyond our expectations. Who knew sushi on the pool deck would be such a great idea? Very firm but soft mattresses.
Cons: We were not warned that construction was ongoing and we could not sleep later than 7:00 due to the noise. The room patio only has one chair and we asked for two but none was forthcoming. We were locked out of our room due to a malfunctioning electronic lock and it took well over one hour to have the boss return to the hotel and open our door. Smoking is allowed on room patios and as non smokers we did NOT enjoy our neighbours nasty habit. Double beds instead of queen size made it difficult for my 6'3" hubby to get comfortable - they should find some way to put the two beds together.
7.1 Good
Pros: Snorkeling. Staff. Activities. Restaurants. Penthouse suite! Overall, it was a good stay for the price but we probably won't return in the near future.
Cons: Seaweed was definitely an issue for about 4 of our 8 days. Staff work all day to clean but it's still bad from morning to 1ish. Hotel is a little older but well maintained.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Traveled in June for 8 nights. Wonderful staff, very friendly. Only had a little bit of trouble finding space at the beach or by the pools - but we did hear the hotel was at capacity. No problems with our room, which was on the bottom floor of building 2, but heard about flooding in other rooms during the storm that hit. It was worth it not to have any room issues, but our room was super close to the snack bar and main pool, so not a great view. Was nice to walk easily out of our patio door and to the pool or bar though. Loved the yoga instructor for vinyasa yoga - wish I remembered his name - he was a really terrific instructor and the location/view was out of this world. For an hour a day you could rent free snorkeling gear from the hotel, but I recommend bringing your own so you can be out in the water with the sea turtles for hours. Lots of tour groups, so the best time to go is early in the morning, but we went out many afternoon and still saw plenty of turtles, rays, and fish, without being crowded. The food at the a la carte restaurants was great - our favorites were the Mexican and the Gourmet (just skip the chicken at the gourmet). Restaurants were all small though, so we heard there were frequently long waits to eat dinner at any of them (though we usually went at the beginning of service ~ 6 or 630pm and were seated immediately). The made to order eggs for breakfast and pasta for lunch and dinner at the buffet were excellent. The sushi bar was so so and very slow service. I think I got very sick from eating a mushroom at the Japanese/Peruvian restaurant (it was just about the only thing I ate that my boyfriend did not eat that day). The room service was included with all-inclusive 24/7 and usually very good (though it varied from day to day with regards to quality, quantity, and even ingredients for the same menu item).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the snorkeling, saw lots of fish and turtles everyday. Although sparce, the rooms were very comfortable, the jacuzzi is a nice idea but we never used it. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons: Overall the food was OK, some we liked some we didn't. We ate most of the time at the buffet because of the variety. We did not like the sushi restaurant of the asian fusion. The brazilian restaurant was pretty good once we learned to ask for rare and medium rare pieces, otherwise the meat was so overcooked it was like leather. Our biggest disappointment was the lack of Mexican food, there was chips and guacamole but would have liked more variety of local foods.
Overview Reviews
Located in Akumal, this beachfront property is next to a golf course and within 3 mi (5 km) of Akumal Beach, Yal-ku Lagoon, and Aktun Chen. Xel-Há Park and Dos Ojos Cenote are also within 9 mi (15 km).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Food choices, service staff
Cons: Pool closed too early, ‘preferred package’ was absolutely NOT worth the cost. I was offended that in order to sit poolside at a two-person table the resort charged a minimum of 150.00. However, if you sat four feet away at a table for 8 the price was ZERO. It code not a cent more for the resort to set up a two person table yet they tried to make a buck off of people and the way they did it with their ‘hostesses’ who were there to explain the ‘packages’ was in poor taste because they didn’t tell you it was no cost to sit at a large table unless you asked them.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all phenomenal. Abraham (waiter by pool) had everyone's drink full and was so friendly! He knew your drink orders after the first day and made awesome drink suggestions. Rene, Halmet, Jonas, Laura, Felix, and Miguel all were amazing on the entertainment team. Playing volleyball and the afternoon games by the pool had to be one of our highlights of the trip. They organized some amazing shows at the entertainment theater at night as well.
Cons: There are a lot of mosquitos in this area. We had to cover ourselves in big spray every night and still would manage to get bitten. The resort would spray a heavy fog every morning and evening to help keep the mosquitos away. The spray was not pleasant and left a lingering fog in the air for 20 minutes or so that we had to breathe.
7.5 Good
Pros: The friendly staff and commodities
Cons: The food didn’t meet our expectations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the professional, prompt, and joyful staff. They are what make a great and pleasant stay. Everything was always clean and organized. They have staff on location around the spot always keeping everything perfect.
Cons: Didn’t get to stay long enough! We will be back for sure.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was a cruise fan but I am now a convert. All Inclusive is the way to go. The staff was amazing. I have never been so pampered!!
Cons: It would be great if they had a phone app for the resort showing specifics for the day. They do have a tablet in the room that provides this info so this is just a wish list item.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The resort was great for relaxing and unwinding! My wife and I traveled with another couple. Rave reviews all around. Resort is not massive as many resorts in the area are that they require transportation to even get to dinner or go to the beach. Everything was within short walking distance. The beach though public was amazing primarily because of the ability to snorkel with turtles just a few yards off shore. There are also little clumps of reef you can see exotic fish at. You do get groups or snorkel tours but it does not affect the beach or the enjoyment. The resort is very peaceful. Even the activities pool always has soft island music and not any thumping boom boom music. There are 3 total pools and the serene one is like a peaceful oasis of silence. Service was great. Couple of bars right by main pool one being a swim-up. Basic food service also available right at the pool. And 2 restaurants about 50 feet away from main pool. Excellent entertainment team (Felix, Karen, Jonas, Hamlet, Guadalupe and Laura to name a few) with a good amount of activities ranging from water polo, beach volleyball, pool basketball and volleyball, etc. Beach is just a few steps away from main pool. Enjoyed the fact you dont need bracelets or room key exchanges to get towels. You grab or ask for all the towels you need. Simple as that. Drinks were great which included good liquors such as Johnny Walker Black, 1800 Anejo Tequila, Bacardi, Herradura, Flor De Cana, and more. Restaurants were also top notch. There's Japanese, Italian, Mexican, French, Steakhouse and a seafood. Note there is no dinner buffet. Only breakfast and lunch. Kinda missed a dinner buffet for when we got the munchies. But all the restaurant food was for the most part top notch. Steaks, seafood, pasta, etc. all done very well. Desserts were hit or miss though. So we each just ordered 2 of what kind of looked good and you'd at least get one you liked. They are very small too. Evening shows were great too. Resort is close to Xel-Ha and Tulum ruins which we visited. They were great! Playa del Carmen is a $30 taxi ride each way if you want to visit. Would definitely stay here again!
Cons: We agreed to go to the time-share presentation for $100 credit. DONT DO IT!!! Its high pressure and the last salesperson got nasty. Really left a bad taste in our mouth. Not worth the credit nor the supposed 2 free nights at another resort. Wish there was an evening buffet when you just dont feel like doing the dinner restaurant thing or youre tired or not feeling well.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The resort layout and grounds was beautiful, the service was impeccable, the spa is wonderful.
Cons: The room could have been cleaner and it was difficult to get in the restaurants for dinner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Although the food and drink are outstanding, it is the service and people we like best. Everyone greets you with "hola!" and seems genuinely proud to help. This is why we keep coming back.
Cons: I can't honestly say there is anything I would change. We had activities that we could participate in (or not) all day and evening. Entertainment spanned a wide variety of interests, and no boring shows.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the hospitality and customer service! The resort was beautiful, very clean (I’m very picky about cleanliness), EXCELLENT restaurants, beautiful pools with soothing lounge music (the middle pool), and the spa was our absolute favorite!!?
Cons: Only one complaint, the beds are really loud. Just sitting on the bed creates a loud banging noise.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: People upstairs from us running back and forth. Not much sound deadnig
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We had the swim out pool which was nice. The bed was very comfortable and room was one of the nicest I stayed in.
Cons: For the cost I don't feel like it was worth it. We went to the Italian restaurant and it wasn't good. I ordered from room service and theres a limit on how much you can order. My reason for booking this resort was to get more time to see the sea turtles. You can only to go to see the sea turtles with paid guide.

7.0 Good
Pros: Cost was good for exploring the area.
Cons: Distance from Tulum. Taxi fees added up on excursions to beach as the hotel beach was all rock and wall. Place was a maze so I ended up wandering aimlessly looking for the beach...which was a bit of a disappointment. For a family, this would be great. For somebody that wants to sit on the beach and explore - pay a bit more and stay either in the hotel zone of tulum or la Puebla. You’ll spend the difference in taxis within a day or two unless you take the collectivo.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Food Is good but not Spectacular.
Cons: Employees are always angry and hace a very bad client attention. Definitively i Will never back here. Was a very bad experience since the frint desk. Jorge Is retard ir something happened with this guy, doesn't understand we were 6, not 8. Spanish specialty restaurant have great food but very bad Service, they turn off air conditioning and ventilators when we arrives at 10pm. Hot was awful inside, we need to stand up and retire from that place. You can't grab anything from any restaurant and go out, all employees convert into cops if you atempt to do it. I would not recommend this hotel. Try Royalton or Palace Resorts, ir even camp at the beach....it's better.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very well organised, good food, nice beach, good logistics with trolleys everywhere if you didn't want to walk. Entertainment in the evening ok. Great service after check out as you can still eat and even have a shower before late afternoon journey. Service in a la carte restaurants very good. Overall we were happy with our 6 days here, thank you.
Cons: Huge complex/resort. Beds were a bit uncomfortable. Maybe not enough umbrellas on beach.
7.5 Good
Pros: I love d water park and the pool. My kids love it
Cons: Mosquitos
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Room is large, clean, updated. Food is good with lots of varieties
Cons: Beach is narrow. Swimming zone is very narrow and shallow with lots of rocks on the bottom. It's limited by artificial dams that separates swimming area from the open sea. On windy days there are TONS of seaweeds that cover the entire swimming area.
6.7 Good
Pros: The staff is absolutely excellent and very helpful. This is something usually found all over the south of Mexico and the hotels related to their service. The amenities are varied and they have many activities inside the facilities so you stay entertained.
Cons: They have a HUGE problem with the electricity and therefore the AC in the rooms (Villas). It seems some time ago, not too recently either, they had a big problem with one or several of their electric distributors and transformers most probably due to the Huge size of the 3 hotels they have together. The thing is they turn the ac of the rooms off at around 4 pm so the restaurants have enough power, then turn it back on at around 10 or 11 pm and that is half way... obviously is not enough time to cool the rooms while we slept with the heat of the Caribbean Summer. This is something that really needed to be displayed before you make your reservations because it's absolutely unbearable to sleep in those rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great the food the staff everybody was so helpful and kind lots of things to do on the property. The kids waterpark it's a plus and the server basilio may from the main buffet kukulkan it's great in anything you need.
7.9 Good
Pros: all
Cons: nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Food Comfort
Cons: Wi-Fi only in the lobby, slow Bars close at 11pm Drinks poor quality A.C. was leaking, wasn't fixed Beach far and covered in sea weed
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Beach was disappointing/ rocky/ small with large barriers blocking view. Far from airport, about 1.5 hours.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The grounds, the restaurants look nice. Some of the food is of OK quality, there are usually many choices at the main buffet. Some of the staff works hard and they try to serve you well. Many however are just overwhelmed.
Cons: This is the perfect example of the resort that could be nice and yet it is ruined by management and their policies. Again: this is not a kids and family friendly resort. Don’t let yourself fooled by the waterpark and other things. -First off, the waterpark has zero food, zero drinks and zero snack facilities around it. You have to walk 10 minutes in the heat in order to get a fresh drink for your kids. -There are no chairs to be found in the shade like ever, unless you wake up early and drop your towels on a few chairs. The shade by the greenery does come with tiger mosquitoes, which bite like crazy all day long (google them if you are not familiar with this bug). -there are some nicer, smaller pools, with a bar in proximity, however the depth of the water is to great there fir small kids, so in effect they are mostly fir adults. -the main buffet closes at 10:30 and until 12-12:30 there is no decent food to be found anywhere on the resort. I’ve been sent away when I arrived at 10:35, with a backpack and with my 2-year-old holding hand. She said to go to “casita”, which is a buffet more than 10 minutes away in horrendous heat and with no food that my kids will eat (they had burgers, hotdogs, ribs, cookies and soft serve ice cream... that’s about it). -the service in the main buffet is often just inexistent. They are overwhelmed and they don’t care. One day our waiter literally refused to bring drinks and my kids kept asking for water. My wife went straight to the bar and they refused to give water, saying that the policy is for the waiter to serve. She has eventually been directed to the hall manager (Jonathan) who came and gave us water. -the staff in general will make no accomodations... as per policy. Asked for cereals at “Casita” (the only 24 hrs buffet)... can’t be done. Asked to take food away for my kids... can’t be done. Even at the a la carte restaurant they refused initially to bring both fruits and ice cream for my kids, they said we have to pick one. -the room on the ground floor had such a strong mold stench that we couldn’t take it and requested to move -the beach was fool of seaweed the entire week, which may not byme the hotel’s fault but it just adds to the insult.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the activities and convenience that everything was located within walking distance. The staff was also great.
Cons: The room had a mildew/rustic smell.
7.9 Good
Pros: the general layout, the pools the drinks
Cons: the late night shuttle very slow. lacking entertainment after hours. The resort is too far from the airport.
4.2 Okay
Pros: There was a lot of seaweed in the water in the area when we went, and the resort did a great job of cleaning it up. The pool and beach were great.
Cons: Front desk was terrible. We waited 2 hrs at check-in to get a room with 2 beds as per our reservation. Upon leaving, our safe stopped working and it took them over an hour to send someone who did not fix it and then another hour for 2 men to show up and fix it. The water in the mini fridge tasted like tap water and gave us stomachaches. And the restaurants were all terrible.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very nice grounds. Good beach without all the seaweed of a year ago.
Cons: Food at the specialty restaurants has improved since the last time I was here but is still only average. Waitstaff is friendly but a little undertrained.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Once you got to the room it was nice and beds were comfortable. Spa and gym very good
Cons: Towel cards used and so people who lost their towels would steal yours, stressful to worry about stolen towels, sprawling, long walk to beach and pool from just about every room so I wouldn't consider it beachfront, every room is a garden view room, no elevators, restaurant reservation systems hard to figure out and again stressful. They don't realize that stress free is what vacations are all about. Food very average. I would expect these problems at a 3 or 4 star hotel but they claim to be 5 out of 6
8.8 Excellent
Pros: staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly
Cons: The restaurants - with the exception of Helios, the food quality is poor. In particular, most dinners were cold and seemed to have been cooked centrally and then transported to the various on site restaurants. Poseidon and the Thai place were particularly bad. Even Gaucho, which seems to bbq steaks on site, managed to serve barely tepid meat and the sides were comparable to bad airplane food.
7.5 Good
Pros: We stayed at the Grand Palladium Colonial, which was budget friendly and centrally located on the resort property. The food was decent and the property was really beautiful. The kids club and pools were just as pictured and really beautiful. It was also great that through our reservation we had access to the two neighboring resorts and restaurants.
Cons: At check in, it would have been helpful for someone to give us a 411 on the property, actives and everything you need to know for the resort, that didn't happen and we often felt frustrated trying to navigate this huge property for the first time. The room had a smell and the pull out bed was all torn and ratty - and we paid extra for the junior suite. It could definitely use some upgrades. Also, the resort, while stunning, was so spread out that my kids were exhausted getting around (3 and 6 years old). We ended up walking to the White Sands resort next door for all of our food (newer, cleaner and more quality food). The Colonial buffets felt old and the food unappealing. It was great we had that option though.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean very comfortable stay
Cons: Didn’t like how beach was ...very disappointing we didn’t get in because of the sea weed.... very disappointing that the natural pool on the other side was closed off for Palladium clients even though it was filled with sea weed as well.... at the photo pro i really felt disrespected when one of the guys that worked there tried to tell me which photo I chose as I was buying a few! He printed the wrong one and he blame me that I chose that one which I didn’t.... had to be rough with him...he was in a hurry to close!

Pros: Beds were comfy
Cons: Very crowded, not a lot of privacy, hard to find a place on the beach, resort is enormous so be prepared to walk A LOT
7.9 Good
Pros: liked everything and the kind staff. however, would have liked a confirmation of the food items that had no meat products and that there was no cross contamination with meat. Also would have preferred if there was halal meats on he menu.
Cons: would have liked a confirmation of the food items that had no meat products and that there was no cross contamination with meat. Also would have preferred if there was halal meats on he menu.
5.0 Okay
Pros: some staff were nice
Cons: leaky roof, water-downed drinks, mediterranean restaurant staff was rude to late guests, towels are plasticky cheap, beach has lots of rocks, lots of mosquitoes
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing the staff made me feel special all the time
Cons: Transportation I wish they will have something set up already or make sure to let visitors how it works. I will call and verify but they will ask me to call diferentes numbers at the end I got transportation from the airport
9.0 Excellent
Pros: There were an abundance of places to eat and places to get a drink. The staff was outstanding, the most friendliest folks that you could ever meet! Lots to do and see, and a huge complex.
Cons: No.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location was great. Staff were very friendly.
Cons: There was an issue with my reservation. Which ment i had to pay a deposit for the first night until the issue was solved. And i still have not recieved my refund. Rooms were nice, very spacious. However the pillows had a very bad odor.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, food delicious and a so many option, spa service amazing and all the staff really friendly and helpful.
Cons: Checking in was really long and not so many staff members were able to speak English so sometimes we had to wait a little bit longer to have someone speaking English.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location on a gorgeous beach. The pool is lovely and well positioned just behind the beach. You check in and get a wrist band which then means that you don’t get hassled by all the guides and tourist stuff. This is a popular beach for snorkelling and so there is a steady stream of tourists in life jackets trying to snorkel around an odd shaped protected area. The area of protection is a little confusing but we soon realised all the boats & tourists go at 5pm and then this little beach becomes a beautiful haven to snorkel, swim with green turtles within 10 meters of the shore and eat dinner at the great beach restaurant & bar. Akumal taverna restaurant, just outside the resort was lovely too.
Cons: A little dated compared to other places we stayed but for our two nights it was perfect. It’s a bit like a (UK) holiday park, hi-do-hi style bungalows. But pretty gardens, great air con and friendly staff.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff excellent Beach good Location very good Snorkelling amazing Beds very comfortable Wifi good (apart from the pool) Very relaxing, plenty of space, we didn't feel crowded Happy hour was nice at the beach...
Cons: Rooms dated Resort dated No hot water in the room (after 30 seconds) Breakfast good, but the vouchers only cover a very basic breakfast, we used 2 each day and went elsewhere on alternate days. Poolside waiter service for drinks/ snacks would be nice. Pool needs a shower so you can wash after use.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious bungalow with coffee/tea facilities. Direct at beach where one can swim with turtles. Nice choice of food
Cons: Relative US based high prices for local environment. Old fashioned wall unit airco making too much noise
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location, great beach. Close enough to reef to swim to without assistance. Facility has everything you could possibly need.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location,on the beach, execelent food and stuff, the front desk man very nice, playa for snorkeling, swimming with turtles:)i ll recomend to everyone
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was fabulous, the room really spacious and all of the staff very friendly and helpful
Cons: The breakfast discount ticket is a little irritating, I would rather pay more for the room and have full breakfast included.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location if you want to see the turtles early.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location with amazing views of Carribean/ beach from hotel room. Snorkeling and swimming beach just steps away. Rooms and hotel grounds are inviting, clean, and well cared for. Grounds include restaurants, dive shop, pool, spa, etc. Staff is attentive and helpful. This family friendly hotel exceeded our expectations! We would love to return!
7.9 Good
Pros: Location - right on Akumal beach, every time I got in the water I saw at least 3 beautiful sea turtles
Cons: Very basic hotel rooms, no tv.

Pros: Really comfortable bed. Hot water. Free air con and ceiling fans. Pool and comfortable sunbeds. Private. Beautiful surroundings. Great value. There is even a big fridge in the room.
Cons: No kettle and not much choice of food in the restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing: the room, the bed, the shower, the kitchen. Room was super clean, breakfast was completely alright (basic breakfast). Amazing value to money. However, a car is needed because of the location. Staff were also very nice. Great experience! 10/10.
Cons: Nothing.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff is very nice and tries to do everything for the guests, altough no one was able to speak any word of English. So be prepared to have Google Translate.
Cons: It is a thing throughout Mexico and not only affecting this site: damp rooms. Our room not only smelled very musty but was also very damp. So be prepared to be constantly ventilate and keep your clothes in the luggage.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Feels like your in the nature. Rooms are very big and have a nespreso machine! A balcony with a net against the mosquitos.
Cons: The room was not completely clean, but I can’t say it wasn’t clean. The WiFi is very weak at the rooms. The hotel is managed by the owners, so it is not completely organized. We, for instance, wanted to eat early and leave, so we came at opening time of breakfast but they weren’t there. We needed to make a bit noise and call them so we could eat.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was good with fresh fruits and eggs you want. We liked it very much! You have to walk 1km to the road to Tulum of playa del carmen and where you can go by collectivo easily!!!
Cons: Shuttle to highway could be an option for rainy days (not for free)
7.1 Good
Pros: very Nice room, big bed and area
Cons: Breakfast made me sick. Coffee cold. Sorry, but teenage girl working/living there , really needs to learn how to receive guests little more friendly and how to handle with guests in general..or somebody else from the grown up should make her belongings.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean spacious room, great hotel territory with pool and swings. Nice stuff ready to help.
Cons: A bit overpriced food in the restaurant but there’s no other options around.

Pros: Loved everything about the apartment. We stayed in #1 which is more like a private house since it is separated from the other 3 apartments. Location is perfect, right in the middle of Half Moon Bay, right on the beach. The place was spacious and clean thanks to the lovely ladies from housekeeping and Louis the gardener. We loved the pool which we mostly had to ourselves the entire week. We had a private terrace surrounded by a small sandy garden with coconut palms and a lovely view of the beach. We could park the car right in front of our apartment. There are a few good restaurants in the area as well as a small supermarket and it's not far to Akumal town. It's also an ideal area for daytripping. Places like Xelha, Tulum, Dos Ojos, Cobá and Muyil are all very close.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was well prepared for our arrival. Check in only took a few minutes.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location! We had a lovely stay in Akumal. The apartments are very spacious, quiet, clean and there is a nice swimming pool. The staff was really friendly and helpfull. They did all they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Also a big compliment to the men who clean the beaches. We were able to see the little turtles hatch and make their way to the sea, amazing!
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was quiet. House was clean and the decor/style fit the Mexico vibe. Good food nearby. Mini market only a 2 minute walk away. Susana (our maid) and Louis the gardner did a fantastic job keeping the condo & grounds neat and clean!
Cons: Beds and couches were hard. Half Moon Bay should be renamed Seaweed Bay. There is so much piled up you cannot walk to Buena Vida on the beach even though it is only 100 yards away. A great trip went south on our last day. That was when the resort manager (David) banged on our door at 8:00AM and tried to get us to pack up early so he could give our condo to some new guests who showed up early, (even though the other 3 units were empty). Unbelievably, he tried to convince us the airline had changed our departure time to 90 minutes earlier than scheduled. This was a lie of course. We watched the new group move into our condo (#1) as we drove away even though they had rented #4. David treated us well all week until this last incident. But, this last stunt put a huge damper on the whole trip.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked that once you figured out where everything was it was relatively easy to get around and everyone on staff is very helpful.
Cons: The mini bar and room service selections were a little sparse. The walkways being so extremely slick after it rained and there being no mats to prevent slipping.
7.5 Good
Pros: Concierge Marlene was excellent. The hydrotherapy and massage were amazing!
Cons: The food was only mediocre. The buffet was less than appealing.
4.0 Okay
Pros: I travelled from Luxembourg this time. Mostly appreciated very nice and helpful staff, especially, everything goes resolved with tips; the breakfast (quality and variety of healthy food), coffee shop on the hotel territory, bright room, bbq party on the beach and Mayan night dinner (extra to be paid). Special thanks for your collaboration with Traffic tours and Cancun Adventures company, that made my stay much more pleasant in your hotel: if you like to have a smaller group of people for trips and great knowledgeable gides, good healthy food during the trip, early arrival to e.g. Chichen-Itza for great fotos without thousands of tourists - definitely go with Cancun Adventures !
Cons: Too much glass, reflecting sound everywhere, too noisy and not able to relax or sleep even with earplugs; not enough space on the beach for the crowd and very bad quality of sunbeds - replace them to confirm you're a 5 star hotel!! - the bugs in my room, jacuzzi bathtub that i didn't use even once- very old spots on it - clean them or replace them. From food point of view, for people that are on diet or eat healthy, it's not enough (e.g. 2 types of fish). Entertainment is no value to spend time on. Saxophone in Sky Bar was nice. Special comments on the restaurants: the staff doesn't pay attention to a person sitting alone, preferring to serve big groups (looking for tips that those groups don't give, actually). In Mediterranian, i had issues with food, so i was offered one extra dinner in Japanese, where i've been sitting on the corner, and the cook forgot to make me rise - thanks to one family, they gave me theirs - and he offered extras to everyone, except me - which i consider completely impolite (for ex., if someone asked for salmon, but he cooked more chicken, he offered that extra chicken to everyone). In Grile house i was waiting for 1 hour for my meat, the waiter forgot about it, he started to clean my table after 1h and offered me to take desert - i reminded about meat - and he brought it to me in next 15min, overcooked, and it was 10min before closure. You have to know that it's EXTREMELY NOISY in all restaurants, as staff moves the tables and chairs like pushing them, and half an hour before closure staff starts to clean, so you can't really enjoy the food, if your time in resto was 8.30. It was not only me complaining about these cases in restaurants, which I consider inappropriate for the 5star hotel restaurants. The staff maybe was underrepresented, but still there should be attention to all guests, and good enough quality of food.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was amazing!!! Always willing to assist. Great location if looking to do activities like xcaret Tulúm and others as they are closer than Cancún would be. Challenge could be transfer to and from hotel but found a great company USA transportatio
Cons: Beach was not able to be used at all due to sargassum
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are beautiful, like the pictures. Spacious, comfortable. Loved the jacuzzi and the bench in front of the bed cause you can sit there if you're wet. The place is enourmos, so every day we did find a spot near the beach and the pool area. We did walk a lot and got lost though but it is ok. There are snack bars all around the areas with plenty of food. The night shows are excellent, we loved the lion king one, didn't think it was the animation staff... The staff is super friendly, also the concierge, good that you have two each building. The beach is clean, they cleaned the Sargazo that gets there everyday but it is not much. They have nets to catch it before it gets to the shore. We definitely would love to come back
Cons: The matress is too soft, so anytime one of us turn around the other one almost jumps ... We did rest though. There's a smell of wood or drywall in the bedroom, I supposed that is a new one. It's curious that all the switches were broken specially the ones in the bathroom. Also when we arrived the glass door of the toilet had fingerprints. As a Mexican the "Mexican food" is tasteless, but there are plenty of options in the buffet. There's a weird and bad smell near to the healthy snack...
7.9 Good
Pros: food, enjoyed being able to have waitress service in some restaurants in evening , not always a buffet
Cons: bathroom- wet area never drain away so whole room flooded after shower , asked 2 times to it be be cleaned but nothing helped / no evidence anyone tried to clean it
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing. Best part was meeting up with our friends.
Cons: The food was awful, the a la carte restaurants were Mediocre at best. The AC in the room did not work very well. We got our room changed from the day we arrived due to the bedroom being extremely dirty and the AC not working at all.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: The food was like cruise food felt processed and noticed repeats and the meat looked like mystery meat , ended up eating salad for 7 days straight
10.0 Excellent
Pros: clean, super friendly staff, good food, pools, beach
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness of staff and level of cleanliness
7.0 Good
Pros: the staff were great. food was pretty good, grounds were beautiful. activities at the pool were fun
Cons: charged an insane amount of money for our 5thfamily member when we arrived. some activities advertised on the website and their schedule didn't happen, concierge lied told us there was an anniversary celebration that turned out to be 3 hr timeshare sell
6.3 Good
Pros: Room was a junior suite and was really spacious, clean, airy and nice.
Cons: Check in took ages and there was only one group in front of us. Too much paperwork to fill in at the desk. Could easily have been done online and just needed a signature. Food was of poor quality in the buffet and that is the only place we experienced. Zero air conditioning other than the room which meant eating was very uncomfortable due to the humidity. Swim up bar was a joke. One guy serving and many people wanting drinks, chaotic as everyone asking and no order to the queue.

Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful. They were prompt and responded quickly to any issue we had however small it was. Meals we're well prepared, fresh and delicious. Housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient. Our accommodating hosts even served drinks and meals at the rooftop area even though it was low season. The beach is quiet and clean. Swimming and snorkeling were amazing. All in all a fantastic vacation. Thank you Tony and your wonderful team for the best tropical experience in recent memory.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is on the most beautiful beach/bay with killer coral reefs. We saw turtles, mantas, barracudas and every fish imaginable! The food was good and the fish tacos were great. Not being an all inclusive was ok since we had a kitchen. I awoke each morning to the sight and sound of the surf. It is not a five star, fancy granite counter place, but clean with friendly staff. It is a simple place with the calm atmosphere that those who want to avoid the "party" will love the Bikini Beach bar next door on beach a plus. We will most definitely return.
Cons: Bathroom upgrade, more kayaks, in room phone to order from kitchen, and use a different cleaning agent that doesn't have such an lingering overpowering scent in the rooms.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Plenty of drinking water
7.5 Good
Cons: It ended up being such a great time. We didn’t realize the location was 30 minutes from tulum until we arrived but it worked out in our favor and we had a wonderful time (at a far better rate)... a happy accident, if you will. The beaches were quieter and sandier than tulum. And it’s so close to akumal and the best cenotes. DEFINITELY rent a car, but every moment is worth it. Thank you!!
4.0 Okay
Pros: On the beach
Cons: No hot water and there was a constant smell of sewage. Ants all over the place.
6.7 Good
Pros: The facilities, the free kayak and the staff was amazing!
Cons: The beach was full of sargazo, not a good date to go due to this
5.4 Okay
Pros: A really surly, unwelcoming arrival. The condos are pretty run down. The beach is nice (despite the seaweed) and the rooftop bar was totally deserted - but what a lovely, friendly barman!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Upgraded to beachfront condo because our pool view room looked dark, outdated and small. Condo was beautiful but the upgrade was expensive. On site restaurant was excellent & great price. We ate there every meal but u either took food back to room or at at pool since the restaurant didn't have a dining area. Beach was beautiful but had seaweed piled up and constantly washing ashore...not hotels fault.
Cons: Update pool & garden rooms.
7.9 Good
Pros: The attention of Fernando during our check-in and when we got back during the nights. The facilities in general were well maintained. The Beach area was also nice looking. The pool was new.
Cons: The attention of the front desk is not that friendly, and sometimes rude. We also were not doing noise and Fernando warned us that one of the guests needed to sleep early and that we should shut up. During our stay the hotel was making A LOT of noise during the day, breaking the floor beside the pool. So it was VERY stressing and annoying. And also the neighbors were making a lot of noise. Seems like it was a very noisy neighborhood. The beach had sargazo too, and stones inside the sea, so need to use shoes to get into the sea. Finally the suite distribution is not the best, as we needed to get out of the apartment to get into the living room/kitchen, instead of crossing the room (which is not comfortable for the guests)

Pros: This is the second time I've stayed in Casa Gatos and the place is a great value for the price. David and Dan are very friendly and helpful. It's very close to Yal Ku and Half Moon Bay so you are a short walk to the best snorkeling spots in the area. It's a bit further away from the beach though so if you don't have a car you might want to consider renting bikes.
Cons: The wi-fi is a little spotty but it works if you are downstairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts were great, the place was great, just a charming, quiet place where you get a real feel for the area. Not a lot of tourists, very safe, super gardens and a fabulous roof top for star-gazing and moon watching. Just splendid!

Pros: Casa Gatos felt like home right from the beginning. The hosts, Daniel and David, are phenomenal. Their attention, warmth, and kindness meant a lot to us. The rooms are great, spacious and very well equipped. Roof deck!! Location is amazing, steps away from amazing snorkeling and picture-perfect beach.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Casa del Gatos is a rare gem. The location is excellent--within walking distance of the crystal clear waters of Half Moon Bay, world-class snorkeling in the adjacent lagoon and beachfront restaurants to enjoy meals and drinks. The casita was beautiful, clean and comfortable--a real home. Dan & Dave are superb hosts offering both privacy and the feeling that you are truly their guest. If you are looking for a safe, friendly, fun and genuine experience in the Yucatan, North Akumal is a treasure. Places like this blow the resort version of a holiday out of the water.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It felt like staying with family more than renting a hotel room. David and Dan are so personable, welcoming, helpful, and friendly that it made this trip awesome. Our suite was spacious and beautiful and the neighborhood was quiet and clean. I didn’t want to be in a loud, drunken crowd and this was quiet, private, and lovely. We walked to town every day, rode the colectivo to our destination, and made the most of our trip. I hadn’t heard of Koba until David suggested it and it was our favorite Mayan ruin (and I just want to add that you should always pay extra to get a guide — they add tremendously to the experience). I’d love to stay here an extra week because there’s so much to see and do.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: We liked the beachfront
Cons: - the bed was very small for 2 people - the swimming pool is very small - coral is dead :( very dead - no easy way to get into the water (rocks everywhere) - there is no way to get into a sandy beach in Akumal bay for free. (for 100 pesos, you will end up in an overcrowded beach) - It's very expensive to get in and out of this place - No good restaurants around (the only restaurant that was around - La Buena Vida was very bad)

Cons: Everything was absolutely perfect!

Pros: Beautifully located eco hotel which is wonderful to have a total relax, chill by the pool

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Food was ok but still need to improve the quality of the ingredients
Cons: The staff was mostly unfriendly and left unsolved matters for a while. Their responses very discomforting. After a few attempts we started getting our concerns resolved.
7.5 Good
Cons: Travel Club hard selling (time sharing).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Food was consistently good, including the buffets. Never felt crowded, always a trolley to help get around, staff always eager and helpful
Cons: Petty complaint, but there is No elevator to rooms. And the beach can be rockey when entering the water.
