The hotel has an excellent location, very close to the Old Town and yet quiet and comfortable. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. Our room was spacious, and so was the bathroom. The cleanliness (towels, linen) is commendable.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in. Really helpful staff and the room was wonderful. Breakfast very good - a wide range of foods to please all. Really good location within the edge of the old town - we loved the hotel and Basel. Will visit again

Great value hotel. Super-secure storage for bikes. Superb breakfast. Air conditioned rooms. Helpful multi-lingual receptionists. Strongly recommended for a good-value stay in Basel. There's a nearby supermarket and the attractive city centre is a couple of minutes' walk down the steps. Hotel has a lift if you need one.

The hotel itself is really quaint and oldish but modern rooms and facilities, in a terrific location, and very clean and tidy.. couldn't fault it. And the staff very helpful and charming.

We were very pleased with everything about this property. It really did exceed our expectations. I rarely say that about hotel experiences ( I don't do surveys very often either). Thanks to all the Staff and there helpfulness! Also, the room we stayed in was completely remodeled. The sound insulation between rooms was better than normal as well.
We aren't breakfast people, so I wish that there was an option to have just coffee a not a full meal.

“The hotel was really good value for anywhere in Switzerland. The room was much bigger than i expected and the staff were lovely. Check in and check out were a breeze.”
“The location is excellent. It's so easy to just go down the stairs beside the hotel and be right in the old town. We often took the tram back to avoid the stairs going up. The staff was extremely helpful. Be sure to email then for instructions from the airport and now that buses and teams are free If you stay with them.”
“Hotel Rochat is in an excellent location within easy walking distance of the old city. Travelling from the airport was straightforward via the EuroAirport bus and Tram no.3 to the University stop. It was then just a short 5 minute walk to the hotel. The hotel was very clean, the bedroom very spacious and comfortable and the staff were helpful. The buffet breakfast was good and they catered for my Gluten Free requirement.”
