Central location, very easy access to all main historic parts of Brugges. All staff very friendly and helpful.

There is a major, major problem in that the FIRE ESCAPE facility was terrible and would not be allowed in the UK. It consisted of a small window with a channel system bolted to the wall alongside. It would have been necessary to pull a lever and a `ladder` arrangement springs out at right-angles to the wall, running up the whole side of the building, ie several floors. It would then be necessary for a person to climb out through the small window, having first removed it, and get on to this `ladder` and then climb down with, possibly, other people climbing down above you. It would also be possible to lose one`s footing and fall off the ladder to the street below. As I am 78 and not very agile, my sister 75 with mobility problems and my wife 62 this arrangement seemed horrific and very, very, dangerous. I lay in bed one night thinking that in the event of a serious fire the escape route could be virtually impossible. This feature completely spoils a good hotel and I could not dare to stay there again.
