Cons: I reserved a generic car on line that I thought would be a mid size car. The cost of an upgrade was double what I reserved. The Florida toll system was not explained and I see in the contract that I will be surcharged an outrageous "service fee" for tolls.
As it stands now, I would never rent from Dollar again.

Messed up the rate
Pros: The fact that they did everything they could to fix an error that was made regarding pricing and days. And fixed it! Saved me approx. $100.00

Fees and fees and fees
Cons: The car smelled like herbs of the illegal type. They just sent you on your way to just find the car. They didn't do anything with my gas receipt upon return so I just had to come out of pocket. You'll be high pressured to buy insurance. Staff was friendly until it came time to pay. Paid three times the kayak amount.

Cons: There was an extra charge when we picked the car up at the counter. This was over one half of the price listed when booked. The stated price on kayak was not what the actual cost was even though the agreed upon price stated all fees were included. I will not rent from Dollar again

Fees and More Fees
Pros: The car was clean and drop off and pick up were easy to do.
Cons: I paid twice as much than the reported price on Kayak. I kept having to pay more fees and more fees. I felt cheated.
Pros: Although they initially directed me to a Chrysler convertible (hard top, small boot) the assistant got me a Mustang (soft top, big boot) and we had a great holiday.

Cons: The car (Chevy Impala) was extremely uncomfortable. I was glad we only had to go a short distance.

Pros: Loved Chrysler Town n Country! Very versatile vehicle and it was very clean. Drove nice and was very comfortable on a 700+ mile drive.
Cons: Honestly, nothing. The whole experience was quick, seamless and professionally done on both the rental location and the drop off. Will definitely rent from Alamo again.

front desk at pickup
Pros: The guys who showed us to our car were very nice and helpful
Cons: The person who checked us in was belittling us to and up sale was very rude about it and tried to con us into getting the insurance by making it seem like it wasnt an option to pass on the insurance and the cars ac unit was leaking on our feet the whole ride. After this experience i will never rent from alamo nor will i ever recommend it.
Cons: The pricing wasn't transparent - I had thought that the price paid online, plus the additional insurance I bought would be the entire cost. Turns out there is also third-party insurance that can be bought only at the pickup counter.
Additionally, the information given at the pickup counter wasn't clear. We needed to ask questions several times, especially regarding the toll option in Florida. In the end we had to call customer service again regarding the tolls (see next item).
Customer service was poor. The phone number given at the checkout counter was for the Orlando office, whereas we had rented in Fort Lauderdale. Further, after calling customer service for a day we could only get through to voice mail. Left a message asking to be called back, buy that didn't happen. The next day we made it through to a representative.

Overall great value, but mediocre pick-up/drop off
Pros: The price was great ($20/day for a Camry) and the location was conveniently placed in the rental center.
Cons: The pick-up/drop-off experience was below average. The attendants at the counter took too long to check out other customers. They spent too much time trying to sell dumb add-ons like insurance and SunPass, which are both rip offs, and not working on getting people in their cars and on their way. Also, the first car we got smelled like cigarettes, so we had to change out for another one. Upon return, nobody was around to tell us where to park the car. I also found out after the fact that they charged me for an entire extra day for keeping the car for an extra 3 hours beyond my reservation time. Their "hourly" rate was about 35% of a whole day! This wasn't well communicated to me on the front end. Notwithstanding these issues, however, I thought I got what I paid for.

Pros: I liked everything using EZ rent a car, from Monica greeting me by there counter and passing me along to the guy behind the counter I forgot his name but anyway he checked me in quick went over everything and I was on my way within 15 minutes. I would recommend anyone that needs to rent a car to use them

Rental car without power windows or locks in 2016?
Pros: AC worked in Miami heat
Cons: Employee encouraged me to upgrade but did NOT inform me of the lack of features in my rental:
NO power locks
NO power windows
black interior gets SUPER hot in Florida sun
$10/day for spouse when most other rental companies I've used include it for free
$8/day for toll pass (hardly used), no clear explanation of alternative offered by employee ("they don't have booths" so then is there even an option?!)
$200 hold that gets refunded is NOT explicitly stated in the contract and explanation offered by employee was insufficient (my husband is a lawyer)
Felt nickeled and dimed - cheapest price online but after added expenses at pick-up, felt I should have gone elsewhere that was more transparent
I will NOT use E-Z again.

Cons: I don't mind the extra charges for fuel, road side, three different kinds of insurance, toll pass. I just think that it should be disclosed at the time of booking, not pickup.

Bait and switch on model reserved
Cons: My rental reservation read "Jeep Grand Cherokee or like model." When I went to pick up vehicle, I was told I could not have the Cherokee that was parked I the "premium SUV" aisle and had to take a "standard SUV", either the Kia or Dodge. The guy working at FLL could not understand why I expected to drive the vehicle that was on my reservation and on the lot! He was zero help and I strongly feel pulled a bait and switch.

Cons: It was the wrong type of vehicle. We reserved a full size pick up truck. They gave us an SUV. We reserved a truck for the open bed in back to move things. The SUV did not do what we had reserved a truck for so we ended up renting an additional car, truck, through u haul.

Cons: For a $25 rental, it ended up being over $60. Seems to be all kinds of hidden costs that they don't tell you about.
Pros: We traveled with a lot of luggage and an extra person, so our rental was tiki small. Or clerk pushed us up to a Dodge Durango that fit skill of us and our luggage for $20. He was easy and awesome!

Pros: Jennifer (manager on site) tried to rectify my problem by offering a discount on the rental.
Cons: The truck was disgustingly filthy. I was told by the agent that the vehicles are not detailed only washed and vacuumed. I had to take it to have the carpet shampooed before allowing my family to travel in it.

Cons: For some reason they forgot to mention that they took out the rear headrests, which was not only extremely uncomfortable for my passengers on a 3-hour drive, but also poses an extreme accident injury/death risk. Pulled up to exit the rental car lot and get our papers, and waiting 10 minutes for someone to show up and take care of us even though there were no other customers around.
They also add an absurd amount of little fees that really add up.

Best Customer Service Staff Around
Pros: The staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. The car was clean and well-maintained. I was upgraded from a tiny car to a Jeep. Quick and easy to get the car and get on my way.

Pros: There were 12 counters plus two for Premier members.At the general counter there were only two persons. I was behind 14 persons and luggage, possibly seven rentals, I suppose. Finally, I was directed to the Kiosk. Kevin appeared on screen. Very unfriendly. Tried his best to charge me extra for additional twenty seven a day comp insurance, although I had taken car rental insurance with you (please check my reservation). He went on about empty gas return, its advantages and the $10 a gallon charges. Talked about upgrades within the class I rented, he said he'll give a jeeep accent instead of the RAV4. It took over thirty minutes. He charged my Chase Sapphire but then called the card company. Altogether an additional twenty five minutes. When I signed the docs I saw an additional $174 charge for upgrade. I cancelled it. Kevin was unhappy. I just wanted to go with my RAV4. I go to pick up car, theres a banged up Accent. Seats could not be adjusted. Dirty and smelly car. Lots of dents outside (have a copy of dent marking sheet) I am a unhappy camper. Hertz says they are number one, but not in my books. I've never seen an unadjustable seat in any SUV I've ever driven. Please look into it and possibly make changes in

Cons: The process for renting was very long and drawn out. Nobody at the counter was engaged or wanted to help. Everyone seemed preoccupied even without a line of people. The only helpful person was Steve, the guy who called in remotely at the kiosk. The car was twice the price I originally intended to pay and definitely not worth it. For that price I'll take my money elsewhere. Thanks.

Pros: Overall it was OK. I don't understand how
I can book through KYAK and be told it's $159 with taxes then arrive and be told "oh, we have more taxes to pay." (About $50 more). They have a video kiosk which I initially liked... but then the woman was very pushy and tried to upgrade me for $75/day. The upgrade was totally not necessary and only after I said I was there for a funeral did she calm down. Not happy at all with this experience.
Cons: Won't be using Hertz again.

Pros: Hertz has friendly, but overworked agents. This site needs to be staffed better. I was able to get all my money back because I never got to rent a car.
Cons: There were only two agents behind the desk. Kiosks did not work after midnight. After we waited in line for twenty minutes, the whole computer system went down. Ended up getting an Uber.

Pros: Pickup was less than desirable. Drop off was mayhem. Too many cars/not enough attendants. Thankfully, a wonderful man named West, saw I had my 92 yr old father who was unable to walk so far to the airport. He loaded us up and took us to our departure point. What a lifesaver.
Cons: 1- the odometer did not work. Thus, when given directions to go 6 miles etc. couldn't tell how far we had gone.
2- the GPS I rented did not work. I was able to use it to get to the hotel and 1 place. Then, it lost its charge and even after being plugged in while we drove for almost 1 hr, was less than 50% charged. I could not get it to work to go to dinner or for the return trip to the airport. I ended up using my phone.
3-When I told the attendant at check-in, he said I could take it to the desk to tell them. Since I had my 92 yr old father w/ dementia and no wheelchair available, I could not go.
To be honest, this was my 1st experience w/ Hertz and I was willing to pay extra for an on-site airport car rental. I was not impressed. When I picked up the car, I had to wait for the reservationist to finish a personal conversation. She finished, but since she was at the far end of the counter she looked away from the line and ignored us. I don't rent many cars, but I thought Hertz was supposed to be the best.

Customer serivce was horrific. This was my review
Cons: I don’t even know where to start here. My flight from Boston to Fort Lauderdale was delayed, which had me ending up at the hertz rental desk at 2:30am. I get to the desk to see about 5-7 Families ahead of me in line. There is ONE representative at the desk... ONE. I stood in line until 3:30 while my pregnant wife watches on. This was absolutely unacceptable and ruined our night. Thinking that this could not get any worse, we get to the representative and they are far from appreciative with our patience. She tells us to take any car in the lot for the inconvenience stating that "all the cars are open and unlocked" after me and my wife walk around the parking structure aimlessly searching for an unlocked car with keys "checked at least 10 cars all were locked, ones which were open had no keys" I head back in to get some service. I walk up to her while she is helping another couple and this woman has the audacity to yell at me and tell one of your service men to fetch some keys. Finally we get a rental at this point, which it is around 3:45. I spent an hour and 45 minutes trying to complete a task in which should only take 10-20 minutes. I cannot believe the lack of customer service provided to my family and I. I would appreciate the maximum compensation for this horror of a night that we dealt with on our "vacation". The only nice/helpful person was the gentleman at the gate who probably doesn’t get paid enough told me to fill out this survey as my wife cried in the passenger seat. If there is no compensation here I will certainly not be renting from you guys again and will be writing a yelp review and steering clear my family and friends from future rentals. I do appreciate your time and effort as I hope you appreciate mine. I’m looking forward to hearing back from you ASAP.
