Pros: I loved everything about Alamo--even my family in the area were happy with my selecting Alamo to rent from as they use them often.
Cons: However, they acknowledged as I did in my rental car how overwhelmingly dirty the car was--it looked like it wasn't even thoroughly cleaned.
I must say, despite that, family members still rent from them and I will too because their customer service making everything worth it!

Cons: when I was picking up the car, they just gave me the keys and said, "go around the corner for the Economy cars." they then just left me alone. there were three employees working the front desk and only one person behind me. then the car is a 2016 and noe one taught me how to turn it on or how the lights work. to this day I don't know how to turn on that cars regular lights. I had a very hard time driving on the highway in the dark

Pros: Renting a car is so easy fast and without the hassle!!!!
Pros: The wait to get a car was 1.5 hours which allowed me to get used to the Raleigh climate after flying from Seattle.
Cons: The lady gave me a wrong cost estimate for the car rental itself, and said "it includes an extra hour because you came in early but it won't once you return the car. Gas is only $25 if you bring it empty". She didn't didn't explain about gasoline surcharges, ended up charging $34 for gas instead of $25 as was stated on the contract. Deceiving southern lady!

Cons: Although I had a confirmed price from Kayak, Payless was trying to charge me double at the counter. I managed to get it reduced somewhat, but it still ended up costing more than the price I received from Kayak.

Cons: There was a very long line of people waiting to turn cars in, but most of the attendants from Payless were just standing around and not helping the one person trying to receive rental cars. My wife and I were lucky we were there early enough for the delay, but the awful service really put other customers at risk of missing their flight. We will not use Payless again.

Cons: Our final bill was double what we saw listed on Kayak. Payless billed us an additional $18 listed only as "RSP" on the receipt.... we had to look up online that it's a "Roadside Service Plan" ... a service the agent said was offered "free of charge" when we first picked up the vehicle.
The remaining hidden fees were the various airport fees & taxes on taxes you generally expect from an airport rental. Not unexpected, but Kayak should disclose these when making a reservation.
The car itself was clean and ran well. If it weren't for these hidden fees, we would be very happy with Payless.

Awesome Serivce at Raleigh/Durham Payless
Pros: Most friendly service representatives at RDU Payless than any airport rental agency over the many years and locations I have used.
Cons: I had to ask in order to get the price quoted to me. I was initially charged for various options I did not want nor received.
Pros: They were totally helpful when I had to change my plans.
Cons: Airport shuttle and routing was a little arcane, but shuttle was very quick.

2nd car almost a charm
Pros: I thought the Budget staff was very nice and helpful when we arrived. When the first car smelled like smoke they were happy to give us a different car that was a step down from the 1st, but smelled nicer.
Cons: The car we received had the steering alignment way off and was not conducive to the long drive we had. I would have taken the car back, but we had already exchanged it once and this was the last car that was within the lot that met our request. I was annoyed and did not like the car or feel of the car at all. I would not rent from this particular Budget car rental spot again nor would I drive a Kia again.

Cons: The pick up took over 45 minutes. I did not appreciate the patronizing attitude of the agent at the desk (whom I believe was the branch manager.) I do not plan to use Budget again.

Pros: The car was nice, easy to rent and the service was quick. There were no hidden fees or anything and the shuttle to the airport was nice.
Cons: Workers were very very unprofessional. They were slow too. The pick up process took 45 min and I was third in line.

No means No
Pros: The price point was excellent. The car was clean. The drop off was easy.
Cons: The pick up was going well until I declined the insurance coverage and from that point on, the counter person tried everything to scare me into changing my mind (though he was not rude). But it did get to the point where he reminded me very much of the 80s timeshare salesman. He told me that I better note even the slightest blemish on the car because since I didn't get the insurance, it could cost me hundreds or more.

bad customer service
Cons: Pick up was atrocious. 4 people in front of me in line and it took over an hour to get to front desk (1 person working desk). Then it took another 30 min for them to get the car. They offered to add another driver on to the rental and did not mention it was an extra $80.... common knowledge to a lot of people but they should mention it. I didn't find out about the car until I dropped it off. I won't use this company again.

Cons: No drop box for key they open at 5am so if u have a 6am flight it's very stressful
$200 a day if the car needs to be repaired if something happens and your covered under your insurance and don't take theirs
Pros: Quick friendly service. 15 mins from arrival gate to airport exit. Just as quick on the return.

Pros: The person who helped pick the car for me went to extra trouble to pick the color package that I mentioned I liked. I thought that was extra nice.
Drop off was excellent and very efficient.
Cons: Due to more cars being returned than expected, there wasn't enough help at check in, but they corrected that as soon as they could.
Everyone was very helpful, once the staff was in place.

Increased Rates from Hurricane Matthew
Cons: I typically rent from Enterprise once a month but last wkd (10/14) all Raleigh "quotes" were triple the amount bc of the storm. Regardless, an economy car went from 15/day to $70.00 a day & that's so wrong. I ended up finding a car at Hertz for 3 days for $63.00 so I won't rent again from Enterprise. I've always been happy with customer service etc but that just put a bad taste in my mouth esp when people are in some hard financial situations due to the storm.

Enterprise at RDU
Pros: not much.....
Cons: We reserved a mid sized SUV. When we arrived at the lot, a small 4 door car was presented to us as our car. I quickly pointed out what we had requested. Then there was this awkward shuffling of oh, yeah, you can get that Jeep over there if you want. The 4 door was lees than the SUV making me think bait and switch. We moved past that, then I signed all the paperwork only to have the girl tell me it again as she hit cancel. So, we did it all again and got to the exit and the gate guy asked when we had 2 receipts. I explained what happened and he gave me both receipts in case I was double charged. We ended up on a toll road at one point. Typically car rental companies will give you options in this case but Enterprise told us nothing about this. When we returned the car, the girl asked us about our experience and I told her what had happened. She chalked it all up to new people working there and getting up to speed. I thinking even new people can read.... So, she kept asking me what she could do to make it an excellent experience, I finally told he tht wasn't happening and we walked. This location appeared very disorganized. I've had a few issues with Enterprise in the past, so I will NOT be using their services again. I am retired and was a worldwide business traveler for 35 years: this aint good customer service.

Cons: I reserved full size car. The guy kept trying to up sell me to a Jeep Cherokee normally 40/day more for 10/day. I kept saying no and he gave it to me at the full sized price.

Pros: Car was clean, process was efficient and our shuttle driver was great.
Cons: Didn't have the selection of cars we had hoped for, but car was fine for its purpose.
Cons: Car was stinky, had no washer fluid and was pretty banged up. did the job though. Customer service is very slow but there was only one person there so can't blame her.

Cons: The original car was dirty and stained on the interior seating. The second car did not have a 100% full tank of gas although the gauge said so...it dropped immediately after leaving the lot. The maintenance required light was on and after driving a few hours the low tire pressure indicator came on. I am still waiting for a receipt as there was a problem with the charge when I returned the vehicle and although there was no one in line to checkout they were unable to make the correction...going to call again.

Terrible customer service
Pros: Staff at the RDU and IAD locations were friendly. Base rental rate seemed like a good value. Vehicle was reasonably clean and in good condition.
Cons: The first vehicle they gave me had its check engine light on and after leaving the parking lot, I had to come back and exchange it for another one. Not a huge deal, but certainly an inconvenience. I wish that's where my frustrations ended...
On the day that I was scheduled to return the vehicle, the entire Southwest terminal was closed due to weather. I found out at 11pm the night before that my flight was rebooked at another airport. I immediately called Advantage to let them know and they informed me that I would be charged a $200 one-way drop off fee. That's a steep fee but I would understand that I'm responsible for it if I had changed my plans voluntarily. When I expressed that I felt it was unfair since ALL Southwest flights were cancelled, the customer service agent told me that I had to call corporate and gave me another phone number. I called "corporate" and spoke to a very rude woman who told me to call the drop off location. I called, and they instructed me to call the pick up location. The phone number listed on Advantage's website for the pickup location connects to a disconnected Verizon number.
After several phone calls and hours of my time, nobody has been helpful and I have been charged over $250 to drive a Nissan Versa for 48 hours.
I called multiple other rental car vendors at the RDU airport for comparison and none of them charged their cancelled Southwest customers a one-way drop fee. I really feel like Advantage took advantage of the fact that I was stuck flying out or another airport.
I should have heeded all of the negative reviews online. This is no way to treat a customer.
Cons: Windshield was filthy.
Took over an hour to pick up, first car was locked so I had to wait for a second car.
I changed my drop-off time over the phone and was told I wouldn't be charged, when I dropped the car off, I was charged and had to wait in line for another 35 minutes just to get my refund.

Cons: They didn't have the car I reserved 2 months prior and gave us attitude for being an hour early which wouldn't have mattered, because they didn't get the car we originally requested for 2 more days. They were rude as hell and why advertise a particular car if you are not going to have it in your lot, will never book AVIS again.

Pros: I made a reservation for a late pick up and got to the hotel to find out that there was
wasn't any cars available. The car that they gave me was dented up in the back the trunk wouldn't go up on it. So i had to pack my car down. Then the oul light said that the car was on 3%percent I had to stop off in New Jersey airport to get another car. Then they charged my credit card more extra money
Cons: Price was almost $100 more than quoted online. Were not told of the highway tax in NC.

Pros: I had an absolutely awful experience. It was honestly so bad that I can't bring myself to write it again. Let's just say the customer service was completely unhelpful, I was misinformed multiple times and had to spend an additional $1000. I will absolutely NEVER rent from national again, no matter what deal they offer, just on principle.
