Pros: Ease of renting and drop off. Booked online. Picked up. Dropped off. No hassles. Spotless car. Great people. Surprisingly affordable for a van.
Cons: I didn't like that they didn't off a bodyguard service to follow me around town in a Maserati mean mugging everybody I talk to.

Pros: Quick service. Ability to drop car off without filling up the tank (pre-payed for gas at a rate cheaper than at the pump).
Cons: Car had not been cleaned on the inside before allowing it back out for rent. Dog hairs and stains on back seat and in center compartment from previous renter. Blatant profiteering at the expense of good service since they were that eager to have all cars off the lot.

Tank wasn't really full at st start
Cons: While the gauge read full, the gauge dropped 3/8 in 60 miles. I topped it up to determine mileage. 15.8 mpg. It was not full at start. Rest of trip was 24 mpg, in line with what I expected. Previous driver did not top off, and hertz didn't check it obviously.

Pros: The guy that I got the car from was great. I liked him. The car was great.
Cons: The day of pick up they called to change pick up time 2 and a half hours after what I had reserved. That was OK but I had to change my plans because of it. So I changed my plans and then about an hour later a woman called and said the car was ready. I said that's great but I won't be able to be there until the time the guy had said the car would be ready because I was at work and had changed plans to get a ride to pick up. The woman got a very nasty attitude with me because of it. She was so rude I almost cancelled my reservation but it would have cost too much. Also I was going to extend my rental but the new policy I would have has to pay triple the daily cost. One of the things I liked about Hertz was being able to extend and pay the same price as when you made the reservation.

Pros: When I got the full sized car it was as expected.
Cons: Corporate head overbooked. They did not have our car. They did not have any cars. They could not upgrade there was nothing nearby period we finally settled for a lesser car for eight hours. In attempt to get the right car I was hung up on four times spent 4 hours on the phone. I was told that I would get a hundred dollars back. I returned the car 7 days ago. I've spoken with the manager twice. I still have not been reimbursed. I still have not gotten my extra day I paid back either. Their customer service is atrocious. I was even in the process of Facebook messaging about the situation I was in and they stopped responding. I I will never rent from this company again period I hope that I will be reimbursed for part of the inconvenience them making us late for our trip. Making us ride in a smaller car than we paid for. Making me drive around st. Louis looking for another rental car and then them having no clue what I was talking about when I got to Hertz at 10:30 at night. All of this while on vacation taking extra 4 hours of my time just to get what I was supposed to be given in the first place period and they have still not made this right

Didn't Save the Car We Reserved
Cons: We reserved a mid-size about two months prior to our trip knowing that we had an infant car seat plus luggage with us and when we arrived they only had compacts available.

Pros: The staff was friendly and cooperative. The car met my needs. The drop-off process was quick. The value of the rental was very good.
Cons: It took too long to pick up the car due to an under-staffed, over-worked office. They tried to give me the car with less than a full tank of gas, which they corrected following my objection.
Pros: The car was okay after I cleaned it but it was sluggish and the cruise control did not work.
Cons: Was a okay ride but the DVD player was not working correctly without the remote that they do not give you because they do not want you to lose it. The cruise control did not work and they did not have a way to fix it unless I sat and waited with the car. The check out process they make you sign for the car saying everything is okay before they will take you out to see the car.

Pros: The car got great mpg. The customer service was excellent.
Cons: Half way through my trip I ran into wet roads and had to use the windshield washer fluid but the tank was completely empty. I had to purchase my own then it still wouldn't work. I had to pull over and dump water from a bottle onto the windshield to be able to see. Finally I messed with the fluid lines under the hood enough that I started getting a little out. I returned the car st the Cedar Rapids location, locked it and put the key in the drop box.
Then three days later, right in the middle of the big dinner I had driven up north specifically for, I got a call from Budget Wichita where I picked the car up from and was told they couldn't find my car I had returned 3 days earlier in Cedar Rapids. My heart almost stopped! I called Cedar Rapids and left a message then found their "contact us" section on their website and sent a detailed contact request. Within minutes the actual owner called me and told me he himself had received the car the morning after I dropped it off and everything was fine. The annoying part was that Wichita should have called Cedar Rapids directly and left me out of it since it was an internal issue.

Pros: Great vehicle and great customer service.
Cons: The vehicle wasn't ready when I showed up. I had to rent a different vehicle and then come back several hours later to get the one I originally reserved.

Cons: I dropped car off before opening hours using dropbox. Got a voicemail an hour later that a claim would be filed for a dent in the door. I called 5 times over two days leaving voicemails each time and never got a call back. On 3rd day and 6th attempt I called reservation desk rather than claim extension and finally got to someone that said claim had been cancelled. Shouldn't have taken 6 calls and 3 days to find that out.

Truck Not Available
Pros: Cleanliness of the vehicle.....when it finally got there.
Cons: The truck wasn't even at the location. I had to wait 45 minutes for the truck to be brought to the location. Also, the cost for 1 day of rental was higher than quoted on kayak.

Dollar C/S error
Cons: Spoke to Dollar Rental C/S. I had questions on model of vehicle. A woman who ID herself as "Cee" advised, I would be issued a midsize vehicle. She asked to book the reservation which I did. I told her the reservation was from 5th April to 17th. When I arrived my reservation was for the 6th April to the 17th. Dollar could not accommodate me and I had to hire a taxi which cost $50.00. In receiving my rental on the 6th I was issued a compact. Recommendation: Don't out source to foreign countries that can't speak the English language. Bill

Cons: Waited an hour and a half for a car when arrived on time
Cons: car was not driver ready. side mirror on passenger side folded, cover over back storage was tied with knots to the knobs on side so was blocking back window view, had to stop on side of road and untie it once I figured out what was the problem. took a while to get the knots out. Not happy, they should have had this all ready. I reserved a better car also, gave me a inferior car.

Poor customer service
Pros: 1st of all they had 3 clerks at the counter, 2 customers that issues and they were all 3 standing there looking at 1 computer. We stood in line for 45 minutes waiting for 1 person who wanted to complain that he was charged for insurance and didn't use it and wanted to be refunded while another complained about the rate. I just wanted a car and to be on my way. Every other rent a car place had 5-6 customers deep and were in line for their car in less than 5 minutes as I timed it. Plus because my boyfriend and I were not married we had to pay 13 dollars extra a day. A fact that was never mentioned when we reserved. Car was clean and a nice small ride which is what we reserved but after your poor customer service I will never rent from Payless again!
Cons: Customer service. 13 dollars for additional driver non sposewe are 60 years old and choose to live together but have to pay extra FORGET THAT

Cons: We were supposed to have a chevy cruze or similar and were given a hyundai which was a lower price which we ended up paying more for the car we were trying to avoid. My husband called earlier that day and the lady who answered told him they would have a higher grade car available. He was not happy we had to choose from a hyundai and a kia.
It is also kind of inconvenient there is not free parking for you own vehicle.

Pros: I was very happy with my rental experience. Drop off at the airport literally took abut one minute. An associate was waiting in the garage when I pulled up, she scanned the barcode, checked the fuel level and printed me a receipt on the spot. Painless!

First car was defective
Pros: It was cheap.
Cons: The first car was dirty and had an issue with the left back wheel that made it unsafe to drive so we had to turn around and come back.
The person behind the counter was neither surprised not helpful and gave us another car that was only incrementally better.
Cons: Car smelled like smoke.
Also, they allowed me to book s rental for a van, then on the morning I came to pick it up they told me you had to be 25+ to rent a van. Worst experience I have ever had with any company. I will never rent with Avis again.

Pros: good gas mileage car
was what I had expected
Cons: They had a pikepass box in the car but was not mentioned should have been turned off for new users and then show them how to turn it on if they prefer to use it. Not sure what the fees are going to be since I went through 2 stops before the lady showed what to do.
Cons: No rental car counter help. We waited 15 minutes with no one showing. We tried calling the local counter but naturally went to voice mail. I went to parking lot found an attendant and he went to the back room to locate someone. When the person showed up she tried to say she was busy but every excuse she put forth was quickly proven false. By the way when I returned the car same situation. The agency next to Budget said just leave the keys and paperwork.
