Good location (Event at RDS)
The staff were so rude and check in was abysmal. We arrived at 18:00 and our room was not ready (safe needed to be accessed by a previous guest). There was some confusion about the rooms that was resolved but The staff at check-in basically told us that bookings through booking.com should not be trusted. We got our room key after nearly 30 minutes, the room was still being serviced by housekeeping. As a result of this is was another 10/15 minutes before we could settle in our room. As a result the room was not fully cleaned ( considerable amount of hair/dirt left of bathroom floor). In the morning there was a fire alarm test, we were not made aware at check in or by any signs in the room that it was a test so the persistent alarm got us up out of bed and we headed to reception. We met another guest on the way who informed us it was in fact a test. I reported this at check out to another member of staff, she assured me she would report this to her manager and he would be in touch, it’s been nearly a month and I have not heard from the hotel. I would advise anyone looking at staying here to spend there money in another hotel, this apparent 5 star is the worst service I’ve ever had and I spend quite a lot of time travelling for work.

ExcellentSep. 201910.0
First class luxury hotel, short cab ride to downtown business/ shopping area. Pleasant, helpful staff. Food was good and even served in the lounges. Doorman was so attentive he checks the cabs before they depart-and he found my camera on the seat. Jaclyn, the maitre d'/hostess at breakfast was pleasant and helpful, even suggesting some key sites in Dublin which we greatly enjoyed.
Not much we didn't like. Piano player, though excellent, only seemed to play songs (very well) from ca. 1930-1960 during the two nights we were in the lounge. Maybe add a few at least from the 70s-90s. No apparent dress code, and some of the younger people were dressed like slobs, lying on the sofas, bare feet, etc. The hotel should at least require "casual" dress, rather than beach/bedroom attire. The majority of people were dressed "appropriately."

Excellent settings and very nice and comfortable room. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful.
We were provided with only one set of slippers. They should have checked all the items provided to guests. Also we found a dust cloth on the floor behind the chest: although it was not easily seen still slightly disappointing.

Food was just ok ,much higher standard required. Staff could be more in tune and more accommodating.
