We enjoyed to stay in the Chester Residence a lot. Nice neighborhood. Hotel staff really fulfill the wishes. We asked, if we can stay a bit longer due to late flight back and Viktoria make it possible . Thank you for that!

Excellent and beautifully presented, breakfast delivered to our room in a picnic basket and more than enough for two people for breakfast. Food of high standard.

The Penthouse Suite was fabulous. So fabulous we were later going out for dinner as we were so comfortable in the suite.

Parking is not provided. We parked outside on a meter but wouldn't be much use if staying longer. Parking is available at Castle Terrace which is a bit of a walk away.

The cleanliness and facilities inside the room, the room size, and fully equipped + well-decorated apartment. The staffs are well-trained for both day and night shift, and a thumbs up for Jack who has been in the night shift and helped us with anything.

    1. There is no lift to get to the higher floor, which you should have noticed it on the booking.com. 2. The bathroom was terrible !! Imagine a long driving trip during the day and you were expecting a good 5-star apartment would facilitate and comfort you, but it's NOT !! My fiancee was in the bath and showering, but all of a sudden, the water in the bathroom stop working. She was washing her hair and the hot water stop working first then the water was completely stopped leaking. Imagine how horrible it was to experience that. The staff tried to fix it, and it took an hour for her to stay inside the bathroom, but it cannot be solved so we were offered to change the room at 3.45am !! The apartment was on the ground floor next building. 3. Our second night was exactly almost the same situation happened!!!! We moved to the 3rd-floor apartment of the main building. My fiancee was in the bath and just filled-up the water for half of the bathtub, then the hot water stop working again !!!!! This was the second room that we moved in, but the exact same thing happened !! We asked the staff once again, and this time he took 1.30hr trying to fix it, but still cannot be solved. I have to boil the water from the kettle to keep her warm in the bath waiting for this to be solved, which CANNOT. We then were offered to move the room again at midnight, but this time we denied it cause we were really tired of moving stuff around. So, we asked him just to use the bathroom from the other room, but he then first saying that he can't let us do that. We asked the staff to phone the Manager (Viki) twice until they allow us to. 4. Basically, we were spending for like 4-5 hours from this unexpected situation about the water system. That's completely a waste of time for us. We were expecting a well-standard 5 START APARTMENT !! as it should be. We then asked for the late check-out until 3 pm to compensate for our time that is wasted. Seriously!? 5 STAR ?

About

Overview

Staying at the Chester Residence in Edinburgh means that you have a lot of space in one of the older areas of the city, in fact, the hotel itself boasts about the space in the apartments as having “parish church” proportions. However, space is not the only thing that makes this Scottish hotel great, there is also incredible proximity to the famous Princes Street along with the different sites that dot Scotland’s capital city. Within the hotel, there are lots of amenities, for example, the hotel offers complimentary bottles of champagne, a turn down service, flower bouquets, grocery delivery, and several restaurants on site. You can get a fine dining experience or just head to the lounge and get yourself a nice drink after a day of sightseeing.

As for the apartments at the Chester Residence, all of them are old Georgian Townhomes that have been converted into modern living spaces. The apartments all have different capacities and belong to different buildings, but everything is kept together. The apartments are either one bedroom or two bedroom, depending on the place that you are staying. Within the apartments, the décor is chic and urban – while the hotel may exude history, the place that you would stay in has modern appliances and finishes. This is a great hotel for business people or for couples seeking a romantic getaway.

The Chester Residence is a great hotel to stay at in Edinburgh because it provides some incredibly luxurious finishes in a premium location.
