Beautiful room, very well appointed.
Only one pillow, two would have been much more comfortable, also the mattress was quite hard.

Breakfast was perfect the view of the castle from our room was fantastic overall really pleased will definitely come back
You need a crossing outside the front doors it’s awkward to cross

Location and helpfulness of the staff was great.
Given the age of the building the windows were drafty and the air conditioning /heating inefficient , consequently struggled to get my room up to an acceptable temperature without the fan sounding like an aircraft was taking off!!

GoodOct. 20197.5
The massage in the spa was excellent and the Pompadour Restaurant was high quality
The pool and spa facilities were lacking and needed updating The room was large but was also little dated and the bathroom facilities were temperamental. Breakfast was often disorganised and distinctly average

About
Overview
The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian was built in 1903. It’s located in the capital of Scotland and is as regal as guests will expect it to be. The hotel is iconic and has views of the famous Edinburgh Castle from many of the rooms.
There are 241 rooms in this large hotel. There are many different kinds of rooms to choose from that range from luxury suites to deluxe rooms to premium rooms. There are a couple of suites that are different from the rest and have unique features, the Alexander Graham Bell Suite and the Caledonian Suite. All rooms have free WiFi, plush robes, and slippers. There are TVs and coffeemakers, too. The rooms are different sizes but all have spacious interiors.
The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian has different options for dining. There’s Galvin Brasserie De Luxe for French cuisine. The Pompadour is an elegant restaurant that serves locally inspired dishes with views of Edinburgh Castle. There’s also Peacock Alley which has great breakfast. It’s a more casual choice for dining. The hotel also has The Caley Bar and a breakfast that is served in the Brasserie on the first floor.
This hotel has a spa contained within the property. There is also golfing in the area, in the country where the sport began. The hotel has an exercise room, an indoor heated pool, a hot tub, a sauna, and a steam room. Guests will, of course, be very conveniently located right across from Edinburgh Castle. There are many museums and galleries to visit. Other attractions include The Royal Botanic Gardens, the Palace of Holyrood House, The Royal Mile, and St. Giles’ Cathedral.
The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian has the greatest number of rooms with views overlooking Edinburgh Castle. The amenities of the hotel are all high quality and there are plenty of dining options right on-site. It’s perfect for business or leisure travelers.
