I couldn’t fit in my bed. I am 5’8 (182cm) and bed was too short for me. Also there was a weird smell in the sleeping quarters. I felt really uneasy and I had to book alternative accommodation.
Good location, building has a lot of character, hostel with private cabins. If you’re on your own and just want somewhere to sleep, shower and leave early it’s fine. Shower was decent.
Really noisy all night. There is no ceiling on the cabins so you can hear doors banging, people talking, snoring, coughing through the night.
Not enough bathrooms
Dirty bed bugs only 1 toilet
I liked the location of hostel, really close to several metro stations including the one to the JFK airport. It is simply close to everywhere.
The were only two showers on my floor and one was even out of order. It was very common to use shower two floors up.
The Bowery House offers guests a unique budget hotel experience in the heart of the famed Bowery. The hotel was once a lodging for run-down visitors, and guests are able to enjoy a bit of the hotel's former history with its preserved wood-paneled cabins that are touched up with modern amenities and accommodations. The hotel offers guests convenient proximity to the nearby subway, as guests will only have to walk two blocks to reach the station.
