The room was very small and was not ready for check in when we got there. We were told we would be called on our cell shortly after we got there to inform us the room was ready and we were never called. We were then charged a fee for checking out an hour after check out and was never told a fee was going to be assessed. I found out when I check my credit card statement later that day.

this is a wonderful little boutique hotel. service is friendly yet sophisticated. housekeeping is excellent. Location is perfect if you need to be near NYU. we've booked another stay.

“I’m going on my way back to the standard. But I’m not sick and I’m not sure what I was really doing eating Indian food after 2 am . But I will return to “my room “room 1404 the king corner room with a wonderful view of Nyc - the room was very nice to be able to get sick in bed...being under the weather is never too fun, but I’m surely glad that I was able to say that it was better than my room. The staff was friendly and attentive to my experience. Like always the are the standard of the standard hospitality. Front desk staff is very nice..”
“Truly appreciate the help and hospitality of the team members here at the standard. Please do yourself a favor and stay as long as you can at this hotel if possible .(I’ve stayed for a week +) long story. Front desk manager Franc (sp?) is the master of creating special hospitality as well as his team. For real they don’t discern by what you look like or anything.,, it’s a sanctuary in this city of lots of judgements based upon your designer clothing and your general self. It’s incredibly awesome and I’m sad to leave today, the view in the King room 2002 is incredibly breathtaking. Once again , staff is great and solution based. I’m not going to stay anywhere else in Nyc ...ever - Franc (front desk manager) is the one that keeps the hotel thriving and ensures the standard meets well high standards. He’s great and deserves recognition in any way.”
