The Giacomo, an Ascend Hotel Collection Member

The well-located(easy walk to the Niagara Falls State Park and the Rainbow bridge(don’t forget your passport) to Canada), historic Art Deco Hotel Giacomo is a beautifully restored property. The service is impeccable(on early arrival, reception held our luggage, telephoned when the room, where our luggage, soft music and lighting awaited, was ready. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The lovely, large standard room with an exceptionally comfortable bed, and the yummy breakfast(7:30-10:30)all made for a wonderful week’s stay. The extras include a cozy bar with a good evening snack/bar food menu. On 2 occasions, we enjoyed their charcuterie/cheese platter with a bottle of wine in their 19th floor ‘Skyview’ lounge(view of the falls, comfortable seating, TV, wetbar, restroom, and wine social on Fri/Sat nights). We stay in a lot of hotels. The Hotel Giacomo is unrivaled for service.

Location was great for experiencing Niagara Falls for both the American and Canadian side.

The included breakfast could have started earlier. 7:30am is a little late for early risers.

There’s not a lot going on in the neighborhood.

The breakfast was very good and very filling. I would suggest a little variety each day, especially when the stay is for 4 or 5 days. Location was excellent, within walking distance of all the American side has to offer. I used the fitness center each day and appreciated the convenience and cleanliness.

We did have a little problem with bugs (fleas?) in the bathroom sink. When we brought this to the staffs' attention, they immediately addressed the problem.
