Pros: Extremely comfy beds and in a great location.

Pros: The location is wonderful in the Cotswolds, beautiful surroundings, the hotel is in a nice quiet area. Very good parking facilities. Excellent staff in the hotel and restaurant. They looked after us and made us feel most welcomed. Lovely room, very clean and a comfy bed. The food/breakfast in the restaurant was excellent. There is a good choice of pubs, coffee/tea shops in the area. The Church near Burford School is worth a visit.
Cons: Just a personnel observation, the shower could be more powerful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: very nice breakfast cooked to your liking pleasant staff beautifully gardens. cosy bed room
7.5 Good
Pros: Location and style
Cons: Noisy - we were woken at 6 by other guests taking part in a cycling event. Staff were either very good or very bad depending on which one was serving. Dinner was average. The whole place needs better management
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly helpful staff. peaceful surroundings. Absolutely beautiful hotel.
Cons: Food was nice but not excellent.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location and breakfast was good.
Cons: The evening meal was not up to standard. Service was poor, champagne not cold, main courses brought after long wait and before starters, food was not very good . We did tell the hotel and they said they would tell management but then we got standard e mail with satisfaction questionnaire so it was obvious nothing had been reported to management. We have been before and really enjoyed it but now it looks like it is existing on past reputation. Also the shower didn’t work properly and generally not up to previous standards.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location. Nice room (we had a 'Good' room'), quite compact but clean, comfortable and quiet. Lovely characterful building. Garden really nice place to relax on a sunny day. Breakfast good, but nothing special.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location, right in the middle of picturesque and historic Burford. Great combination of traditional coaching inn and contemporary comfort. Food (dinner with friends and then breakfast) was fantastic and best of all the staff and management could not have done more or been more helpful. Great value!!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location right on the high street. Staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food was delicious, and the bar downstairs has a really nice atmosphere.
Cons: Rooms are quite small, which is to be expected in a building of this age.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very welcoming, friendly staff. Got a nice feeling about the place, despite this being just a brief stay (we were attending a wedding reception close by). Superb breakfast, and I appreciated the fact that the chef had noticed my missing sausage (I hadn't!), and had it brought out to me with her apologies :) Smallish room (which we were aware of when booking), but very comfortable and beautifully furnished / equipped. I will recommend to others - many thanks.
Cons: Very compact bathroom (though still OK to use).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything. Room, facilities, staff, food all A+. Very highly recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness and cleanliness
Cons: More space for luggage
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, although we couldn't have breakfast the first morning as we had to be away early but they made us some sandwiches s owe could take them with us. Nice touch.
Cons: We weren't there that long so couldn't really sample all of the Highway Inn which was a shame, maybe next year!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was far bigger than the pictures make it look. V cosy and warm.
Cons: The road outside was soooooo noisy and we were woken up at 6 with buses and lorries trundling through. A room at the back of the building would have been preferable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely friendly staff. Free parking. Great food and service. Would definitely recommend it to others.
Cons: As usual there was limited tea coffee and milk. But we asked for more milk and got it straight away.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quaint Inn with peaceful outlook, very comfortable bed & staff very friendly and helpful
Cons: Not enough shelving in bathroom for toilet bags. A luggage rack would also be helpful
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Comfy bed and bed linen. Wonderfully peaceful at night.
Cons: Whilst the food was very good the menu wasn’t varied enough for 3 consecutive nights.
6.8 Good
Pros: Clean room . Large bed.
Cons: Did not get the room we booked for which was "River view" Rude staff . Flies in breakfast room ( many) AND in shared yoghurt bowl at breakfast time.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This Hotel is charming, such a lovely room and the location is perfect, so quiet. The room I stayed in had every comfort you would expect. spacious and comfortable, although they could do with an arm chair to relax in and enjoy the views.
Cons: The staff are very attentive, but as I had dinner with a friend, during our meal we were asked if there would be two for breakfast, which seemed odd, the meal was quite expensive and was all put on my room bill, assuming that my friend would now be staying the night, which he wasn't it was quiet embarrassing when he had to remove it from my bill and divide it between us. I had the Lamb, which was very fatty, I mentioned this and was told all lamb is fatty!
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful location; welcoming staff; delicious food
Cons: The noise from the pipes in the bedroom. Every time someone in another room ran a tap or flushed the toilet we heard the pipes running (and not quietly! - very glad no-one had a late night/early morning shower!!) Also, communication in the rooms could be better/more accurate. No mention of Wi-fi (which was free and with no log-in required, but not found for a while because no reference) and notes stated that OS maps were available to borrow from the bar - but this was not the case (although good pamphlet on local circular walks)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Luxurious. Lovely breakfast.
Cons: Big spider in room!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and friendly place in the countryside, spacious room and very well equipped Very good table.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Initial impression was overtaken by the realization that the accommodation was not in the pub, but a separate building across the road. Compact, clean and if a high standard.. Food was excellent - with a good selection of wines and local cheeses.. Garden area very welcoming in the late evening.. In short we loved our stay and would highly recommend..
Cons: Nothing..
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely rural setting by a stream and with Bantam chickens strolling through the garden - even had the Cockerel crowing and a chick trying to hop in through the open window in our room in the Stable Block. Our room was clean and spacious. Complimentary tea and coffee with a coffee-pod machine were provided but a hiccup - no milk or coffee pods but manager rectified this when mentioned. Fantastic Continental and Cooked choice at Breakfast (Eggs Benedict was lovely) and Evening Meal menu.
Cons: However, the shower was "over the bath" and a bit tricky for the less-mobile. A limited Vegetarian/Vegan choice. Not all Vegetarians eat fish, eggs etc. - some border on being Vegan, but not quite!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and quiet.
Cons: The water pressure in our shower was very weak.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay, the staff and facilities were excellent and the location superb. It was nice to be able to choose where you wanted to eat, eg in the restaurant, the bar, the sitting rooms, the garden or your own room. Breakfast was served beautifully by very professional staff. The room was tastefully decorated and the furnishings were in keeping with the style of the inn.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Parts of the Lamb date back to the early 15th century. Originally a row of weavers' cottages. Breakfast was very good with quality produce and a good choice on the menu. Service from all the staff was of a high standard. Aioibhinn ( pronounced Ayveen ) on reception was a ray of sunshine. The gardens with seating are excellent. Even in the gardens there is waiter service. Enjoy the sun and let the food and drink come to you.
Cons: Coming away so soon. Hotel does not have it's own car park so parking close to hotel at busy times can be hit and miss. Still worth visiting. Wherever you park it is a pleasant walk to the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located centrally excellent rooms and helpful staff, lovely garden and not forgetting the great restaurant
Cons: Couldn’t fault it,

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, quiet hotel in the old style with excellent food, log fires and unobtrusive service.
7.7 Good
Pros: charming location, very beautiful building, exellent service
7.0 Good
Pros: Relaxing atmosphere and style was a mix of a good hotel and an excellent inn.Staff at all levels friendly/professional/efficient/attentive and welcoming.Meals in bars/lounge were off a high standard. Room large and easily accessed for handicapped guests/
Cons: 4 Log fires great, but all needed to have their chimneys swept! Normal wood fire aroma spoilt by visible smoke that attached to clothes/hair. This was one of several weaknesses that indicated lack of maintenance/checks by local or Cotswold Inns and Hotel management. Gratuity added to restaurant bill without previous advice and bathroom had no bath only a shower -this was a superior room but it had the smallest bathroom that could be designed. Limited clothes hanging space(coat hooks behind doors would have helped)
7.7 Good
Pros: Relaxing
4.4 Okay

Overview Reviews
With a stay at The Priory Burford Bed and Breakfast in Burford, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Cotswold Wildlife Park and Tolsey Museum.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place in the middle of Burford with quiet rooms situated in the restaurants. Staff are really friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is lovely and filling. Garden is yours to enjoy when they close restaurant at 5pm Have seen other accommodation in the village, I'm happy we choose the Priory. Great value and location. Thanks very much for a lovely stay!
Cons: - Pillows - were quite flat and hard so didn't sleep well on the first night. I know this is a personal thing, but would have been nice to have a choice of 2. - No Full English option for vegetarians for breakfast - wouldn't take much to offer veggie sausages for the 'Full English', but I was given extra egg and a hashbrown to compensate, so all good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Enjoyed our stay, rooms were at the back of the tea room and overlooked a small garden which was secluded and pleasant. The staff were accommodating and found somewhere to store our bicycles in the dry. Breakfast was also excellent. Quiet and safe easy access.
Cons: Room was a bit on the small side.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great place for families. At the back of a restaurant, but since the restaurant closes at 5 pm, there is no problem at all with noise. The room was great, bright and spacious, the shared bathroom was very clean. The staff was very friendly.
Cons: The room could not be made very dark due to the light curtains, which makes making little kids fall asleep a little trickier. But hey, wouldn't we all favor a location where this is the main negative point :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were spacious and the little garden was so warm and inviting! Breakfast was outstanding! The location was right in the center of this precious village. I have already recommended it to a friend who is going to England next Spring!
Cons: My room did not have a private bathroom, however my daughter's room did.

Pros: Stylish pub restaurant with rooms at the quieter end of witney but easy walk to centre. Comfortable stylish well equipped rooms. Excellent pub restaurant on site very good cooked to order breakfast Helpful staff. On site parking.
Cons: No serious criticism. However Witney is a busy town so if you are looking for ‘ chocolate box’ cotswold location there are better choices
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room 5 is beautifully designed, shower is large and well lit. Large and comfy bed. Very clean. Some really nice team members like the manager and one of the waitresses who recognised us during the stay and were very friendly.
Cons: We had a small issue with noise when we first arrived and the team member we spoke to did not apologise or took any responsibility. We asked him for coffee when we arrived to the bar in the morning, to take to our room and his first response was "but you have coffee facilities in the room" and then he reluctantly made us coffee. When we met the manager that evening, he wasn't informed about the issue we experienced but took full responsibility, apologised and found a solution which we were really grateful for. In the other mornings there was a lovely waitresses at the bar and she was very happy to make us our coffees and thank you for that.

Pros: The room - at the end of the walk-through - was just fine. Breakfast was excellent. The young lady who served us - Rebecca - was a delight. A pleasure to chat with.
Cons: The bedroom lighting. One bedside lamp did not function consistently.
6.8 Good
Pros: the food is excellent but it takes such an age to get staff and they were not busy.they are excellent for welcoming dogs
Cons: dreadful waiting time for drinks etc..had to ask twice.had to ask twice for menus..had to ask twice for napkins..I asked if they were short staff..the waiter replied....no I am just feeling tired!!!! 2 people came for a drink and as no staff in bar they walked out.. we were given a 20% reduction on our meal for having to wait.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant staff on arrival who made me feel most welcome, they even gave a room upgrade free of charge.
Cons: Early morning noise (around 5:30 am onwards) which I can only assume came from a laundry area and proceeded to continue for a couple of hours.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The room, the quiet, the comfortable bed, the excellent breakfast (even though I only ate it once), the accommodating staff (thank you for my early morning latte on the patio).
Cons: Turning off the patio lights around 11 p.m. (midnight?)..... I couldn't have my late night read outside.... a small thing, but important for me. It would have been good to have a facecloth included with the room's linens.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A great location right in the centre of town. A really historic building so expect low ceilings and creaks but clean and comfortable. A lovely breakfast with loads of choice and an ideal spot for walking or exploring locally.
Cons: Bathroom decor definitely needs an upgrade - all facilities fine and working and was clean but tired.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed in Burford many times & at the Bull more than once. Love coming here & will be back soon.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location was excellent. Burford is beautiful. We were out too early to have breakfast the first day but when we did it was fine, although the sausages could have been cooked more. The staff are very nice and very friendly.
Cons: We stayed in 'Cromwell' room 3. The room was large but very dark, facing the street and the bed was not comfortable. Also, please upgrade your pillows they are very hard.

Pros: Great location and good value for money for the area. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: The room was very warm; however a fan was provided.
7.0 Good
Pros: Sky tv in the room.
Cons: Our room ,number 8 ,was noisy due to their kitchen extractor outside our window.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s not every day that you can stay in a place built in 1478. Despite the age, the amenities are up to date. Food was excellent. And the staff outstanding. They added to the charm and enjoyment of the stay

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The bedrooms are well designed and aesthetically pleasing. The property is right in the centre of the town with a bus stop with busses to Oxford outside the door.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very clean
Cons: It’s quirky
6.8 Good
Pros: Good location. Stylish pub/restaurant.
Cons: Was woken up early by the delivery early. Lots of loud banging before 08.00.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great. Room was nice.
Cons: I don't like to say negatives, as there were a lot of positives, but here goes (sorry!) The air con in the room kept making a buzzing noise, every 5 minutes, so kept me awake most of the night. I did'nt get hardly any sleep because of this. It was a little noisy outside in the courtyard (where our room overlooked) as people were still drinking out there when we went to bed at 11.30pm. The blinds on the window didn't fit properly and the light shone through both sides. The bath was high and hard to step out of, maybe a handle to support yourself would have helped The cost of the rooms seem very high, compared to other hotels we have stayed in.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent

Pros: The room was spacious, homely cottage style. The beer garden was good to be able to sit outside.
Cons: The mattress was worn out! The springs were just under the fabric surface. Everytime we turned they would 'twang'. Most uncomfortable. Description offered garden view. We looked out onto the gas tank storage area. They stop serving food at 5pm on Sunday and the pub was locked up.We were not advised of this beforehand. Had we arrived later we would possibly not have gained entry.

Cons: Room was a bit tired. Needs a makeover. Bar prices a bit steep. 2 codgers at the end of the bar effing and blindin even though families were seated nearby. Bar staff more intent in sorting out breakfast tables than serving.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff very welcoming and excellent standard of food with a varied menu to suit all tastes.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful and the food was great. Very good choice of music!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved staying in an Inn with so much charm. Our room was in the old stables, the inn was decorated tastefully from years gone by, well maintained. The staff were polite and worked well together as a team. There was a staff shortage the first night we stayed, however they kept apologising for the delay from the kitchen. John our host spoke to all the guests and made sure they were looked after. I actually overheard him thanking and praising his staff for handling the situation well. The food was fantastic (both in the restaurant and a lovely English breakfast),the selection of music was very good and played at the right level. The best breakfast we had for our 2 months of travel. The bed was very comfortable in a good size room. There was also an attractive garden area to eat and relax. We would stay here again if ever in the same area again.
Cons: If there was anything wrong, it was over shadowed by all the good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Beer and wine also very good.
Cons: Service at breakfast could have been better and the road was very noisy throughout the night. When booking we didn't realise the road was so close.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was great for our needs. We used it as a base for cycling. Very clean and lovely relaxed atmosphere, although a bit too relaxed in the restaurant. Food was excellent!
Cons: No extra toilet paper, so we ran out in the morning! Milk in the room wasn’t topped up, so we ran out despite being promised some would be brought up to us. Shower temperature wasn’t consistent.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location on A40, plenty of parking. Warm welcome and able to check in early. Wonderful evening meal with good service. Breakfast, good choice and all well cooked. Very good service. All the team were very helpful and pleasant. Would definitely recommend

7.0 Good
Pros: The character of the building and the ambience of the surrounding area
Cons: The room was small and the ensuite bathroom was poor. I could not stand up in the shower because the ceiling was so low.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great village with excellent walk nearby
Cons: No problems anywhere
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Location, like being in Midsummer without the Murders, cannot begin to say how nice the area around the hotel is ,the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you , ate in the hotel slightly limited menu ,but the food was really good, bar Area really nice and plenty of safe parking, would definitely stay again
Cons: Absolutely Nothing, maybe could have served breakfast a bit quicker.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location, beautiful building.
Cons: Annoying showers. Menu not very inspiring and food very average. Carbonara was very salty. Breakfast a bit fussy, no self-serve buffet for cereals and juices, all could be simpler, with less, pots and plastic - individually wrapped sugar cubes - really?????
6.8 Good
Pros: Old inn with character. Good location.
Cons: Attention to detail - glasses/ crockery not collected frequently enough from outside tables resulting in them being a magnet for wasps. Bathroom towel rail leaked during the night and bath/ shower didn’t drain properly. Room small with step down to bathroom. Dinner was not good, wrong starter served resulting in one of the party finishing before the other had started. Main course pan fried plaice was virtually inedible due to many individual bones. Breakfast poor value with little choice of cereals or fruit. Full English breakfast was quite small for the price.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice location
Cons: Some room are too noisy
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful cottage lovely bedrooms and ensuites.Breakfast was amazing .Lovely village .Ideal for small child Good place to be with family for a birthday treat. Location brilliant for Witney and Cotswold Wildlife Park
Cons: Nothing really but did expect a kitchen to prepare a meal for family and our small grandchild so was a bit disappointed when we arrived. Therefore a bit overpriced.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Spa was nice, location is lovely.
Cons: Limited veggie/vegan options. Gym was a bit sparse and was hot due to glass front.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The upgrade of the facilities and the separation of the estate into two distinct value add offrtings
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very cute building and grounds. Staff were welcoming and accommodated a late check in caused by a delayed flight. Good location and very unique and cool rooms.
Cons: Bed was uncomfortable. Great sheets, but the it was a distinctly crowned set of twins mattresses.
6.7 Good
Pros: The lovely village location and splendid grounds, the roaring fires and tasteful country house feel.
Cons: The restaurant was a little disorganised. Four people took our orders and served us and the co-ordination was lacking and the service was therefore slow. Why not allocate given tables to specific waiting staff?
5.3 Okay
Pros: The hotel grounds and local area
Cons: The fact they have a two tier system where guests staying at the Old Swan get dining reservation preferences and their own roped off lounge area that the Minster guests cannot use
4.3 Okay
Pros: Character hotel.
Cons: Standard room very small, we stayed in the barn conversion annexe, room was very small with single glazed window which was very noisy. It felt as if we were staying in a beach hut. There was a noise in the pipes which kept us awake most of the night. Also we had to travel to a nearby pub as the restaurant(which is another pub a minute) away was full, priority to guests with bb and e meal.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The first room was extremely hot, we spoke to reception who offered us another room without hesitation. The restaurant is excellent both for breakfast & dinner. After eating there the first night we definitely wanted to on our second night but forgot to book. So after a day out and about came back to hear it was fully booked being Saturday. However the staff were brilliant and said they would manage to squeeze us in and we weren't disappointed, the steak was perfect along with everything else! Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely grounds and setting. Will definitely go back.
4.0 Okay
Pros: I liked the helpful staff in the restaurant who worked extremely hard on the sturday evening of our stay.
Cons: I stayed in room 121 which was awful and i have complained personally to Diane Cornish the sales manager and i have yet to have the courtesy of a reply to my comments.
3.2 Mediocre
Pros: Setting and location excellent. Public rooms nice
Cons: Scandinavian type rooms (118) were very very small. Little wardrobe and storage space. Walls were paper thin. We could hear neighbours even when they were whispering and using bathroom! Flight path from nearby RAF base. No double galzing. It was clear the accommodation was geared to single people on conferences/workshops. Massive disappointmant!
7.2 Good
Pros: Lovely setting, staff very friendly. Lovely meal.
Cons: There were no biscuits on the hospitality tray.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location Staff and service
Cons:
7.2 Good
Pros: The reception and cleaning staff were extremely friendly and welcoming The setting is delightful and the food in the restaurant was very good.
Cons: Our bath room was very cold - no apparent heating and interesting though the high ceilings are, there was a draught. This did not spoil our stay but if the weather had been colder it might have done.
6.4 Good
Pros: lovely location, good restaurant
Cons:

Pros: Quaint 17th century Inn, beautiful large rooms with four poster bed, set in a great location for exploring the local area, breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and very tasty.
Cons: Everything was shut up at 7 o’clock so had to go elsewhere for evening meal and drinks which was a shame as such a nice pub.
6.8 Good
Pros: cleanliness Towels. Linen. Breakfast .
Cons: No warm welcome. Certainly not a smile Help with luggage non existence (stairs everywhere). Had to ask for help - then it was given. Not offered. Didn’t feel welcomed after a long journey. young staff probably not trained in hospitality Don’t blame the staff - they need training!

8.3 Excellent
Pros: breakfast amazing, location is perfect
6.3 Good
Pros: breakfast was fair it depended on the chef
Cons: bins not emptied in our room, carpet worn and cobwebs in our rom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An ideal location from which to explore the Cotswolds. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable and everything was provided in accordance with the specifications. The bar and lounge were very pleasant, and the breakfast was excellent with a good choice of cooked food.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location is good for Burford and parking is easy.
Cons: Incredibly expensive for what you get. Hairs all over bed and bathroom when we arrived. Everything very tired and in need of an update. Breakfast is unexciting as well for the price, better to save your money and enjoy one of the cafes in the high street. Bedroom looked out on roundabout which meant it was very noisy and we had a floodlight directed at our bedroom window so not a particularly restful evening.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff making us feel well taken care of.
Cons: On a busy street
4.3 Okay
Cons: Id booked 3 rooms, 2 twin rooms next to each other in the Annexe, 1 kingsize in the hotel. Hotel decided to change my booking without telling me so when we arrived, I was told 2 (1 twin and 1 king) were in the hotel, 1 (twin) in the annexe. Annexe entrance was very dirty, communal stairs very tired, twin room tiny and hot (was above the laundry room). Manager wasn't overly concerned even though I explained this meant my less abled sister was alone in the annexe and he wouldn't make any changes. 2 of the rooms very noisy at night as the hotel sits on a roundabout and 2 rooms didn't have secondary glazing. We'd booked dinner in the restaurant - the restaurant doesn't appear to open at night so this meant we sat in the hotel pub so don't dress up! Vegetarian main options very limited - salad, 1 pizza or shepherdless pie. Staff were very inflexible so we were over charged on our meals as kids meal deal contained ice cream, they wanted to add a brownie and we were charged full adult price in addition to full price on childs meal deal so hence we paid twice for pudding. Manager wouldn't alter the price.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. The staff were relaxed and friendly. Staff very obliging, providing alternate children's evening meal not on the kid's menu. Great to have a full length mirror in the room, and an iron and ironing board provided. Plenty of electric sockets too.
Cons: An extra pillow in the room would have been appreciated.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We only stayed for one night but it was great to get there and park at the hotel, book in dump our bags in the room and have a couple of drinks in the bar. We had a complimentary bottle of wine and fruit basket in our room, we chose to eat in the bar, we could have eaten in the restaurant, the food was gorgeous and the staff very friendly. it really is a beautiful old hotel a good breakfast in the morning. I probably would not have chosen the four poster room if another had been available, just because of the extra expense but on the other hand we do like a room within the hotel rather than in the courtyard of a hotel
Cons: nothing to fault
6.7 Good
Pros: Excellent food and very convenient location
Cons: The fire alarn at 2.45am with no guidance or advice from the staff as to the problem
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, high standards but a relaxed and warm atmosphere. Really good food, very nice bar with good beer and a log fire (it was November after all), rooms clean, comfortable and well appointed. Popular with the local community too, always a good sign.
7.3 Good
Pros: Convenience of location, comfort of the hotel, courteous, friendly and helpful attitude of all the staff, good quality food
5.7 Okay

Pros: Comfortable rooms. Lovely breakfast
Cons: We were the early and wanted to leave bags and pick up key before going to a wedding, but the was nobody the initially top give us keys. Not the end of the world as it was before check in time.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Owner very welcoming snd helpful.
Cons: No
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were really friendly and good breakfast.
Cons: The hotel could do with a bit of TLC and the shower was really hard to get in/out off.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely cosy hotel. Room was delightful. Spacious and clean. The staff were very accommodating. Great location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host was excellent, as was breakfast and bed.
Cons: Road a little noisy
6.3 Good
Pros: Just out of central Burford but a 10 minute walk will take you into Burford central. Perfect location to visiting Burford. Walking distance from the lovely huge garden centre. The owner is very welcoming and attentive. Was able to provide valuable information on daily excursions.
Cons: The lodge is located on a busy main road, unlucky if you get a room overlooking the road as it's very noisy. The property could look stunning if time was spent making the entrance/carpark/front area more attractive - looks very shabby. The property is clean but again improvements can be made. The Oxford room over looks the main road, a small room, first glance it looks elegant but the mattress was very hard and the actual divan bed was old and worn in places - attention to detail. Tea/coffee facilities in room but you have to be a mind reader to know that the tea bags/coffee sachets are hidden in a dummy book which sits on the dressing table. Cooked breakfast is plentiful but you are asked to make your choice of breakfast as you arrive and provide a time as to when you are coming down for breakfast!
7.5 Good
Pros: As described
Cons: Bathroom a little small
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was efficient, enthusiastic and more than helpful. The rooms, although rather small had everything you require. Bed comfortable, cleanliness exceptional, the bathroom/ shower gleamed! There was plenty of hot water. Although some of the furniture was dated it had everything you needed, hairdryer, coffee, tea and biscuits. There was an abundance of lovely white towels, shampoo etc. If anything could be improved I would suggest that the exterior( garden, pathways etc.) be upgraded as the first impression would probably put people off. However, in our opinion it is good value for money, only 10 minute walk into the heart of Burford and just round the corner from Burford Golf Club!
Cons: There is great protential for improving the garden which could be put to good use on a nice sunny day. There is outdoor furniture but it wasn't particularly inviting as there was rather a lot of potted plants Which didn't particularly enhance the surroundings.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and very friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us. The room was comfortable and clean with very good facilities.
Cons: It was very warm so we opened the windows and the road noise was quite loud.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly ! The porridge is amazing . We had a great stay . Lovely and close to burford Hugh street .
Cons: The mattress in the 4 poster bed could do with Beijing double the height . It was hard to sit in the bed to be comfortable because the sides were hard . Amazing bath though !

Pros: Lovely pub in a rural setting. Food was delicious. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: Sausage was a little small with breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Had to get up very early to travel so did not take advantage of Breakfast but based on evening meals I'm sure they would have been good
Cons: One morning we had no hot water but this was rectified on return by the evening time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the vegetarian cooked breakfast. The owner was very helpful in suggesting villages, towns etc to visit as we were only in the Cotswolds for one day. Very comfortable room. But best of all dog friendly! My little dog enjoyed his stay.
6.8 Good
Pros: The staff were really helpful and cheery and the food we had for dinner really good pub grub.
Cons: The whole place was pretty tired and looked unfinished in places. The single beds in our room were really narrow although the kids room had bigger beds. Our room overlooked a roof which had the pub toilets below so we were constantly listening to the hand dryers being used whilst we tried to sleep - this went on until 1am!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location-excellent dinner and breakfast. Staff very friendly. Lovely country atmosphere and room had everything we required. Highly recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here as we were visiting RIAT. The rooms were excellent. Comfortable bed. Food was very good & plenty of it & staff friendly. Was lovely to be greeted in the carpark by the resident dog. Lovely & quiet. A beautiful place to stay.
Cons: Everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, beautiful peaceful garden, friendly front of house staff and proprietor made me feel very welcome and included as a solo traveller, excellent food, especially breakfast. Proprietor went the extra mile providing detailed recommendations of places to visit in the area.
Cons: Nothing.
6.8 Good
Pros: The food was excellent
Cons: Bed was uncomfortable 2 singles pushed together 1 mattress higher than the other every time you turned over you sank in the middle. Had a loud humming noise that sounded like the spin cycle of a washing machine coming from under my room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Very nice renovated rooms.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very special environment, we were delighted to stay in such a beautiful location
7.5 Good
Pros: super setting, restful. very pleasant staff.
Cons: Our double bed was right up against the wall so felt very cramped.
7.0 Good
Pros: Like the history and architecture
Cons: The bathrooms are dated and things did not work
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Dreamland setting and wonderful dinner.
Cons: Room was small and not in main house, next time I’d change reservation.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The main house and grounds are delightful. My bedroom was in one of the outside lodges, and was spacious but a little dated. Generally quite comfortable and staff helpful. Only stayed one night and arrived quite late so did not get much chance to enjoy the surrondings and leisure facilities.
Cons: Nothing.
5.5 Okay
Pros: A so called double room was barely big enough for a single, we were given a more standard double which was fine but, for some strange reason the T V was located on a bracket up a corner which was impossible to view from the arm chair, we had to go to bed to watch it.!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a very convenient location for us as we have family in Freeland and We stay when we are required to come and babysit our grandchildren. We always stay at Eynsham Hall as we have a good price for the overnight accommodation but spend the day with family so very rarely eat at the hotel.
Cons: This time the room was rather cosy, probably the smallest space at the hotel. This was definitely the room with the least storage area that we have had. As we do not spend much time in the room it does not matter but I was yconcious of having to leave quite a lot of 'rubble' around InThe room as there was nowhere to store it. The bathroom is always very good with a lovely shower and lovely thick towels!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning building with wonderful grounds and great breakfast and updated room.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Cons: V small rooms No bath No fridge Weren’t aware of family swim times upon booking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing building and grounds, incredible decor, will be staying again soon for longer! Room very clean, spacious, and very accommodating. Amazing place to do day and night photography.
Cons: The only negative I would comment on is the food I had. It was delicious, (vegan burger) but not much option for vegan/vegetarian
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super hotel and staff in a wonderful location. Will definitely be going back.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely. Room was quirky and individual.
Cons: Mix up with the type of room booked
7.5 Good
Pros: Owned by ex British Rifle Gurkhas, friendly, nice bar area, comfy bed despite being a four poster.
Cons: Huge round jacuzzi type bath. Would have taken an hour to fill. No shower. Water wasn't very hot. Poor soundproofing through sealed off door from another of the hotel's rooms to bathroom. Entrance to car park a bit awkward particularly as Witney is blighted by heavy traffic.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Very poor accommodation needs updating
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is very well located, short walk into the town centre with plenty of shops, activities etc. Easy to access oxford or the Cotswolds. The restaurant and bar are very well kept, very attractively decorated and welcoming. The building is 17th century and very charming. The staff are very helpful. Each bedroom is unique in character furnished with antiques, ensuite and tea/coffee making facilities/tv/wifi.
Cons: The bathrooms need updating, while they are very clean - the furnishings are very dilapidated in areas. For example the skirting boards in our bathroom had black mold, and the whole bedroom had a very musty smell - we had to keep the window open. Fine in the summer, probably not in the winter.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was adequate for an overnight stay. The staff couldn’t be more attentive. The Nepali food was delicious.
Cons: The bathroom was clean but needs updating.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent full english breakfast
6.3 Good
Pros: Good breakfast and very helpful staff
Cons: The room was dated and very warm. This is more like a B&B more than a hotel, given it is located above a Indian restaurant.
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfortable beds. Staff very friendly and kind. Good value breakfast. Lounge area nice.
Cons: Traffic noise.
7.5 Good
Pros: Food and sevice
Cons: No Aircon
7.5 Good
Pros: The owners were very welcoming and clearly pride themselves on customer service which I couldn't fault. The food was good and freshly made.
Cons: The room was clean and had all the basics, but the shower had no power and although there was plenty of hot water, it was more of a trickle. The room was quite small and the Windows opened on the side adjacent to the main road so quite noisy.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful pleasant staff, great location, great food. Comfy bed. Lots of big towels. Free bottled water tea coffee biscuits in room.
Cons: It was just a little “tatty” round the edges... more attention needed on the decor front, stained carpets chipped paint etc.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room we stayed in was massive with a comfortable bed. The location was excelled right in the centre and the breakfast was good. Overall we had a nice stay but I don't think I could have managed any longer.
Cons: The room was not very clean. I may be picky but the toilet brush was not clean and way past its age. The net curtains were ready for a wash.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located.
Cons: Having to pay for parking at the hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Handy to all we needed to see food good
Cons: Nothing all good
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The large room with four poster bed.
Cons: Tiny expensive car park, decided not to use it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Happy hour 4-7pm
Cons: A little dated decor
5.5 Okay
Pros: Good location, good sized room & bathroom, breakfast (the food) was ok
Cons: Had to wait to check in - no staff at the desk. The room was a fire exit so had a green emergency light on all night. The waitress at breakfast was appalling, had to ask for milk for the tea, she brought sugar in the end got milk from cereal table? Then asked for mustard for the full breakfast it never arrived so why did she bother asking if we wanted sauces?? Would have had a very cold breakfast if we had waited!
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location.
Cons: The room was disappointing and opened out onto parking spaces in the Courtyard. There was no air conditioning, and no plug in the wash basin. Staff were repeatedly asked for a VAT invoice which was never forthcoming. We wont be recommending the Pheasant.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location
Cons: The room was very dusty, and breakfast wasnt great. We have stayed at this property alot, we have always been happy, but the prices keep going up and the quality keeps going down. We are so disappointed as this is somewhere we used to love to stay. £140 per night for a room then expecting customers to pay £15 for parking is greedy. The quality of the breakfast produce aswell doesn't justify the price.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff, warm, helpful and friendly. Fabulous breakfast with varied choice. Huge room. Happy hour, half price drinks from 4 to 7. A good dining experience. Perfect location for shops, restaurants and pubs fsrdrns6.
Cons: My husband struggled with the shower over the free standing bath, which he couldn't access due to limited mobility. Everything else was great.
