Methodology

The presented insights are based on flight searches made on KAYAK.com.au and associated brands from January 2026 onwards, aggregated on a weekly basis (Monday to Sunday). Travel periods considered include departures between 1 and 12 weeks from each respective search period. These were compared to flight searches from the equivalent search and travel period in the previous year.

All prices mentioned are average prices for return flights in economy class, and departing from anywhere in Australia. Prices may vary and savings cannot be guaranteed.

The YoY comparisons provided are not adjusted for seasonal moments, holidays, tourism or special city events or weather/natural disasters.
