The bus eventually came, offloaded half the passengers and then returned 20 minutes later to start to offload the rest. It's the longest time I've ever spend disembarking from a plane and clearing an airport - very poor whoever was responsible (I'm assuming Sydney airport was at fault)."

Cons: "First, I did an online check-in and was able to secure a seat for the first leg of the flight, but was able to get any information on my second leg. So when I arrived at the Thai Airways counter to load in my bags I asked the Thai Airways representative about the missing information. His response was that he could not get into the ANA system and that I have to go to the ANA counter to ask for that information. Given that my layover in Narita was only about 45mins landing to going to the gate, I was not comfortable with not knowing if I would be on that flight or not. The Thai Airways representation at the boarding counter did help me a bit and got in touch with a guide in Narita to help me get my luggages and get to gate properly. I wanted to note that we did not arrive in Narita on time due to the high air traffic so the plane had to circle around for 15 mins. When we finally landed I had about 15 mins to get through the custom and ran to my gate. When I received my ticket I was shocked that I got a middle seat on a 13 hours flight! If I have known this earlier I would have paid for a better seat, but since I was not able to check-in online and didn't receive any info about this flight prior to boarding I was not allowed to change on this full flight. In addition, the plane ride was awful. The food was disgusting and the seat was very uncomfortable. The seat did not even recline back! I don't expect much from a short distance flight but for a 13 hour long flight, I at least expect the seat to be slightly better than sitting on a rock against a brick wall. All in all, this was a HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE I went through. The stress and the discomfort on the plane was an experience that no one should ever feel while traveling. It was an awful nightmare on an ANA flight. I would like a refund on this flight with no exceptions. Sincerely, Jessica Saesue"

Pros: "Everything.. the crew was so gracious and kind even tho the delay was out their control. they even gave us 30,000 Yen or $260 approximately, which they didn’t have to do. i will start flyin ANA... not because of the money, but because of the delay... which no American carrier would have done and would’ve given excuse after excuse."

Rating low to the crew mainly because of the ground staff as they were not very communicative to begin with about the explanation for our delay. Only when the passengers got a bit more vocal about wanting explanations, they started giving us a bit more information. All estimated times given for boarding the flight were incorrect by a big margin! Seemed more like they were giving shorter wait time for boarding just to please the passengers, where as they were well aware of how long the wait would be."

Cons: "From the moment we checked in in Singapore there was no service. Having travelled first class and Economy before with Singapore I was very disappointed with Business class. My husband and daughter were in First Class. The service was below average to say the least - more training required from check in to on board - (in Sydney the staff on the ground went above and beyond) In Singapore it was very fake and contained no sincerity. The lounge itself was also ordinary compared to others, no Amenity kits or PJs in business class - even Virgin Australia has that! I was so excited to be travelling Singapore again given past experiences but now Im not sure I will want to fly them again."

Cons: "The next phase in Taipei the following day was just the same circus as CA handed us (without clear information or announcements) off to any available carrier to get us to our intended destinations, again not communicating well; Turned over to Eva Air - who seemed to have the situation under control and knew how to communicate - loud and clear - to all customers - what we were going to be doing and when and why. In the future - flying Eva - even though this was the first ever event of this type I have had flying China Airlines. Eva provided both meal vouchers and boxes of candy to each and every customer affected while we awaited our flights to our final destinations. CA was silent - and also very absent when we arrived in SFO and went to collect our baggage - again Eva being the party taking action and responsibility to help us get our bags, with 1 of 3 damaged by CA handlers)."

Had a technical malfunction twice which caused me to miss my 7am connecting flight by 2 mins. The next plane didn't even bother to wear for 2 mins even if they caused the delay. They gave a 250NT lunch voucher and asked to what til the next flight in the afternoon. That was the longest flight I experienced coming from New York."

Read the airlines’ travel updates. Bring minimal gear. Be EARLY. And lastly, be grateful for getting a flight at a great price. If the flight went smoothly, don’t complain and moan about the little stuff that has nothing to do with getting from point A to point B. It’s a struggle for all of us. Please understand that."

After the security check we were sent outside where buses were driving to claim our checked-in luggage to take it for another check just to drop it one minute later. Anywhere in the world if you board a flight with a stop-over you see your luggage at the final destination, not the case if you fly trough Manila."

And Dubai placed me on the wrong bus upon arrival so I couldn't get my bag to transfer my bag"

Cons: "I thought I read somewhere that Premium Economy had their own toilets but that didn't seem to be the case. The Mabuhay Lounge (for those with access) is in need of a renovation and can be hard to find seats."

Cons: "The flight was delayed 2+ hours, not getting in Vancouver until after 5am. Everyone on the flight, passengers and staff were extremely rude. Never taking this airline again!! Also, there was no food left by the time the served me near the end of the plane."

Cons: "There was nothing about the airport and transfer experience to like. Going: The transfer from terminals was near impossible to figure out. There was no help and no signs to assist. Coming: They allowed us to transfer to the international terminal where we were made to wait 8 hours OUTSIDE the terminal area. There were few seats, it was cold and NO food venders. Will NEVER fly into Manilla again."

Pros: "I like the direct flight to Vancouver"
Cons: "I checked in early and was given a middle seat. I have back problems and walk with a cane and asked at the check in desk if I could have a window or aisle. I was told no because the flight was completely booked. I arrived three hours early and checked in online so I could get a better seat and they still said no. No one was able to help me. The flight was delayed over an hour and there was no apology. I always fly Philippine Airlines because IV always been really pleased with the service. This past flight makes me question that decision going forward."

Pros: "Legroom is wider than cheap airline, service is better. Ticket price is able to compete with cheap airline. What should a traveler ask more for?"

Pros: "Toilets were kept clean through out the flight. New and clean airplane. Good space between the seats."
Cons: "Flight attendant was rude in general (serving food, drinks, answering questions), he skipped rows when giving hot towels (I wasn't served a hot towel). In-flight entertainment: limited movie selection, even more limited tv shows selection. Music section was very poor, it needs more selection with variaty, known artists, more radio channels. And music tracks should be in a tracklist form with song information, not only 1 hour-long tracks of back to back music (with no info). Meals - Mains were ok, deserts were terrible in both of my flights. Snacks were also bad, a scone and beef and cheese sandwich. Very blend, white bread only and oily. We weren't served enough bevarages, so oily and high-carb foods made me very thursty. No water fountains, it'd be great to have some around since staff does not give enough beverage and I was forced to chuck my water before boarding the airplane (the water I bought in the airport after passport check!!!!!!!) It was extremely cold."

Cons: "Seats were very small. Think Asian size. I am 5foot 10 inches and it was a struggle to sit there for 3 hours. There is no tv on the plane. They want you to use your personal device which I would not do as this would drain my battery. There is no charging station on the plane. 3 out of the 4 PAL flights were delayed each by two hours or more. I would not take this airline again. I got a cheap fare of $600 roundtrip and now I know why it was so cheap. The airport in Manila is so shitty limited seating and limited choices of food."

Cons: "My outbound flight (Manila to Taipei) was rescheduled so I had to make alternative plans. On the day itself, we were told that the flight was cancelled with very little warning. I wasted a total of 8 hours waiting to be put on another flight. They transferred us to the cheaper Cebu Pacific flight that left 5 hours later (at 10 pm!) than the PAL flight. Most horrible flying experience I've ever had in my entire life and I've been flying internationally for almost 20 years. Their customer service is terrible, not transparent and not helpful. They took longer than necessary to rebook people to other flights. Completely horrible. I have another flight booked with PAL that I can no longer cancel, but after that one, never flying them again!"

I understand everybody cannot be upgraded but I paid extra for aisle seat and extra leg room. Maybe passengers that paid extra for seats could get an upgrade when available? It would have been a nice treat to be able to sit in a seat that was actually comfortable. I guess the padding gets worn down from all the passenger travel an that's understandable but for passengers with 13-15 hr trips, sleeping isn't an option really and the seats are just not soft enough. Perhaps a nominal $100 upgrade fee when seats are empty in business class? I'm assuming the reason business was empty is it's just too expensive? Maybe a price adjustment is in order rather than letting those seats sit empty? Overall, the flight was a pleasant experience. The seat situation was just a blemish on the trip. I will continue to use Philippine Airlines though probably in the future. Thank you."

Cons: "We boarded the plane approx on time but we were sitting for a while when an announcement asked for 2 passengers to identify themselves with the crew. Nothing more was said until we were now 40 minutes past departure time and the Captain comes on to say we were waiting for a take off slot from the Air Traffic Control!!! No apologies or advice as to what had happened. We finally were on the runway at approx 12 midnight or 1 hr 25 mins late. To top it all I get an email from PAL at 1.56am (I saw this after arrival of course) which said the plane had changed its arrival time to 9.30am - but the departure time remained the same!!! How am I also going to receive an email when I am already flying?? Food was aweful Entertainment system was also aweful - my future flights on PAL will be only a last resort"

Pros: "The first and second flight of the four were on time. The food was surprisingly pretty good- probably some of the best airplane food I've had. Not much variety, but still good. One of the four flights had entertainment, and the movies were of good selection."
Cons: "Planes poorly taken care of inside. First flight back delayed so long, missed our connection. Ended up having to stay in KL, where the hotel they put us in was an hour away from the airport. No direction, terrible communication. The attendant in Bali lied to me, knowingly. I had to miss a day of work due to this. And this all could have been avoided if they would have held the second plane just 30 more minutes."

What happened to international food standards . Crew was nice...though if wanted water later on had to get yourself.They didn't come around much offering water before Brekkie. No game option eg Sudoku on Entertainment site. My bag come off carousel more scratched than with other Airlines, so poor handling. Disembarked by stairs at Sydney Airport near Cargo plane area and had bus to Airport. Never had that before on an International flight , so took much longer to get into terminal....last thing you want after a long flight."

Cons: "The first meal that was given was poor. a single roll for the fist of two meals offered on an 8 hour flight, is the poorest meal i have had on a flight of this duration."

Pros: "Although I only gave it 4 for comfort, that is mainly because it wasn't a fully reclinable seat which I don't think it's available on a 737. Otherwise the level of service from the staff was excellent."
Cons: "Relatively little to complain of. As noted above the lack of a fully reclining seat is due to the aircraft type in general. Otherwise no complaints."
