Exploring Las Vegas off the Strip

Las Vegas, NV, United States
I fall in love with Vegas a little bit more – and for a new reason – every time I visit. Here are my tips for going off the beaten path, skipping the club scene and seeing the other side of Sin City.

Arts & culture

A collection of the old neon signs that once lit up the city and now find their eternal resting place in this outdoor museum. Wander among these huge relics at your own pace during the day or on a tour at night, when they're all lit up.

Tip: While seeing them lit is an incredible experience, if you're into taking photos, daytime provides the best lighting and the ability to stop and take your time.

Arts & culture

A cool desert art installation that's free to visit and incredibily instagrammable.

This small off-the-beaten path casino is Strip adjacent and has an on-site brewery. Aside from great beer, you can also score a steak dinner for less than $10. Sign up for a player's card in the casino for added discount and free money to use at the slots. Win/Win.

Food & drinks

If you like burgers, this West Coast staple must be experienced.

Tip: Order your Double-Double "animal style" for the full experience.

Nightlife

While you can score free watered-down well drinks in any casino when you gamble, Frankie's authentic and creative tiki drinks are worth the visit. And since the drinks have a kick, you can sip on one without worrying about overspending on cocktails.

Tip: Eat before you go, they make a tasty drink but they don't serve food.
