That said no hidden fees but still charge 1000$ or insurance forcefully similar car NO FOR 6 people they give us 2 people car argument over argument rude etc

The service from Sixt in Cairns was brilliant, from the pick up service at the airport to the swift pick up of the car and drop off. All staff were very friendly and the car itself a dream to drive, making our experience in North Queensland brilliant.

Arrived prior to our 10am pick up on 14/6/23 and were told there was no booking. When I showed the confirmation email, I was told that the booking had been cancelled, in spite of it being booked 10 days earlier and the email had said accepted by Eurocar. Had to quickly look around other car rental companies and had to settle for a more expensive older car that we had to walk much further from hotel to pick up and return. Not sure who was at fault her, Kayak, Expedia or Eurocar but will have to seriously re-consider whether I'll use any of these companies going forward.

Cons:

I booked this for a reasonable price months in advance as diving the Great Barrier Reef was a bucket list item. When I landed though, europcar said that they had given my car away and had no other cars they could fulfill my reservation with as it was high tourism season. No offer to help, no sympathy. Of course I had my phone and checked online and found they indeed had multiple cars available immediately, but were asking double what I had booked mine for. How convenient... I got a car from a competitor instead, and will be avoiding Europcar going forward.

I had a good experience with Routes this time. It took 10 minutes to be picked up at the rental center even though it was 1 in the morning. The car was great and when I brought the car back they dropped me at the terminal.
