I felt tricked. I thought I was booking to pick up the car from the Cincinnatti airport, but instead it was in downtown Cincinnatti. Very tricky and deceiptful on your end.

Hertz didn’t bother to contact me until less than 24 hours prior to pickup to inform me that they couldn’t rent a car to me. My husband reserved the car and used his CC. I tried to use MY debit card and was told Hertz didn’t accept debit cards. ?? When I tried to cancel the reservation with Hertz I was directed to another number to call 🙄 I will not use Hertz again.

The website indicated I could pick it up in Cincinnati when I googled "Airport Pickup". The address was nowhere near the airport, and I ended up cancelling the reservation. It is lucky that the woman from the rental agency called me to tell me they were not open on Sunday, which was my first clue this was NOT at the airport! Very misleading on KAYAK's part!

I requested to pick up a car at the Cincinatti aiport and Kayak sent me to a Hertz that was not even at the airport. I never made it to pick up my car because my flight was delayed by 30 min and by the time I got to the Hertz counter at the airport and figured out my reservation was not at the airport it was 6:03pm and the place where my reservation was had closed at 6pm. The Hertz at the airport had no cars available and neither did any other vendor. None of them could help me in person, I had to do everything online and when the Hertz company finally said I could take a van it was going to be $388 for less than 24 hours. My original reservation was for $46 that I would like a refund on. Due to this confusion and Kayak choosing a rental place that was not at the airport and closed early for my flight time (Kayak asked for my flight information) I had to pay for a $109 Uber to Lexington and an $80 cab back from Lexington. I thought I was going to spend $46 and now I've spent $235 because of your poor program. I have never been to Cincinatti, how on earth would I know the rental car reservation was not at the airport when that is what I searched.....

Horrible service. Canceled my reservation minutes before I was to arrive, and referred me to a location which had an extremely hostile agent who also claimed to have no vehicles

I was told our price was for downtown and not airport. The difference was $450 instead of $150. Then, he proceeded to say he could get me down to $350, but the only question he asked was if I wanted to prepay gas and that was a no. He added $200 in insurance which I have never taken. Felt like it was a scam.

Never got the car that was reserved. Called a few days before to make sure the van was available and they said it wasn’t and that the district manager would call to make accommodations. Never received a call. Very disappointed.

Pros:

Nothing! They closed before they said they closed and we weren't able to get our car! I can't think of a worse experience.

Cons:

They should have stayed open until the listed time and they should have picked their phone up at literally ANY TIME on the Sunday we were supposed to get our car.

I have been a loyal customer at this location and have rented vehicles for years here. However this is the last time I will rent from this location. The agent/manager/whatever was rude, condescending, and obnixous. He made it more than obvious he treats "certain" customers much better than others. I witnessed it first hand when I came to rent the vehicle. Then when I returned the vehicle he was literally fawning over the gentlemen in front of me and DID NOT treat me the same AT ALL when I was renting the car. Also the location was absolutely filthy. I will not return.

I waited over an hour from the time I arrived until the vehicle was ready. When I got the vehicle it strongly smelled like cigarette smoke. That smell was there the entire time. Thankfully my son took detailed pictures of the vehicle when we picked it up. At drop off, they tried to claim that we were responsible for existing damage to the vehicle. We had the pictures to prove the damage was already there. Overall a bad experience.

I received a confirmation about a Mustang convertible or similar. As I arrived (in time) there was no convertible available. We’ve called your customer service and nobody was able to help me. Instead of the Mustang A received a complete different car but and it was dirty.

I ended up having to get two new cars during my rental period. The plastic undercarriage in the first car came loose (I did not hit anything or have an accident, just normal wear and tear) and started dragging the pavement three days after I picked it up. Roadside assistance provided a tow truck and a new car (2 + hours, all told), and then the second car had a flat tire one day after I started driving it (again, without me hitting anything). Roadside assistance then provided a tire change and new car (3+ hours all told). Avis is now charging me for the tow truck, although the reason I had to call the tow truck was due to their poor maintenance and upkeep of their cars (not to mention what could've been a safety issue) and through no fault of mine.
