Overall, this was a horrible experience renting through Ace. I made a reservation while on vacation with my family. Once I arriving I was advised that my reservation had expired because I was 4 hours late. I explained to the representative that I call after noticing my pickup was at noon, but my flight arrived at seven. I was told it wouldn't be a problem. The representative told me that the customer service team I called is not connected to their center. He said it's nothing he can do and sat down. I Uber to the hotel and rented from Buget then next day. Horrible customer service!Reviewed 11 June 2024

We are LA locals and tried to rent a car for the day from the Ace by LAX. We were attracted by the competitive rates, but once we arrived to the rental place it was a nightmare. First, no real person wanted to acknowledge us or help when we asked for assistance. Instead we could only speak to an associate who was video chatting on an iPad in the store. Second, absolutely none of the cars that were listed online were accurate. We reserved a large van which was listed on the site and specifically chose Ace over other companies because they listed it as available and offered the best price. But the closest vehicle they had available was a mid size SUV. Not at all what we wanted or needed. Lastly, the customer service was really sub par. Everyone acted like we were an inconvenience and wasting their time as we were trying to make the transaction. Also, another annoy aspect was that they required a lot to rent from them, including utility bills and $1000 deposit. It seemed excessive and they wouldn’t accept a bill listed in my husband’s name even though it’s our household bill. Just too many hoops to jump through for very poor service and not finding the vehicle you need wanted in the first place. Their ads are pure clickbait. 👎🏻👎🏻Reviewed 7 June 2024

PROS: The shuttle drivers were nice and helpful. The return to the airport was easier than the trip to the rental spot. CONS: Getting from the airport to the rental facility was not efferent. You have to take a LAX metro bus, then get off that bus exit and get on the Ace shuttle to their facility. Too much maneuvering with luggage. Check in was done by monitor via a live feed. Staff on site did not check us in. Strange.Reviewed 3 June 2024

Pros: checkin and pickup was fast and easy. Friendly staff. My Nissan Sentra was in excellent condition and drove well. Drop off and airport return were easy and excellent as well. Cons: No direct pickup at the airport, one must take the metro connector to the remote rental pickup. I had heavy large bags so it was a bit difficult on the crowded metro connector. However, if you read their information, they do inform you of this. The thing that bothered me was my ignorance of the liability coverage requirement and cost so my rental ended up 3x the online price.... once again, read the fine print before you commit to your reservation.Reviewed 1 June 2024

They only allow their car rentals to be driven in LA. This is not stated anywhere in the kayak car rental process.Reviewed 30 May 2024

-Salesman committed fraud stating insurance was $40 for the duration when it was closer to $50 a day -Salesman committed fraud by implying my insurance does not cover rentals (he's acting inappropriately by hinting knowledge of my personal life....my insurance is not public....and it does cover rentals thankfully....but crossing that customer/business veil is inappropriate conduct and edging on safety concerns... -No handicap accessibility concerns, I am disabled, their disabled stall was closed but when I asked they said it was working, having me walk around the building in pain with my cane to find out it's broken. Not handicap friendly -They did not reserve us the Toyota we requested instead substituting for a Charger GT which consumes more gas and is more inconvenient to park than a smaller Toyota, this business tactic may have been done to increase my chances of scratching the car as I not being used to driving it may be likely to make a scratch or, they may have wanted us to forget about all their surcharges once we filled the GT for $120 then their little fraudulent surcharges seem small in comparison...sunken cost fallacy...disgraceful company...Reviewed 25 May 2024

The member of the team was purposely using confusing language when it came to purchasing the *optional* insurance policy. I asked him numerous times if it was optional if I had car insurance and he refused to answer my question and kept telling me I needed to be covered under California insurance. The cost would have added another $200 and It felt very scammy. Fortunately, I stepped away to review my options and the manager was kind enough to inform that it was in fact optional if I could show proof of insurance.Reviewed 21 May 2024

We arrived late for our reservation because our flight was delayed several times. We walked in, gave the man my license and he almost immediately told me he didn’t have the car i reserved because I was late and they gave it away. He made no effort to accommodate a situation that was beyond my control and said there was nothing he could do. He then proceeded to make a phone call to his “friend” Sakura who said he would pick us up and rent us a car. The whole situation felt sketchy and unsafe and we walked down the street to SIXT, where we received excellent service. I have rented a car from this Ace location In the past and it was a good experience, but I will never rent from here again!!!Reviewed 20 May 2024

It was horrible. ACE sent me an email with the rental price without insurance. I didn’t add it because they accepted my personal insurance previously. When I got to the counter they denied my insurance and charged me their severely raised insurance rates which came out to be more that the cost of the booking itself without insurance. So my rental was over double the price. I will never rent from them again. I was scammed by ACE car rental company.Reviewed 19 May 2024
