What to know about COVID-19 and hotels

As you consider current and future travel plans, stay up-to-date on hotel providers’ change and cancellation policies. Here’s a list of some of our partners that are currently offering flexible policies.

Note: As things change, so do policies. It’s important to stay up-to-date on travel restrictions and travel providers’ change and cancellation policies. We will do our best to update this list as soon as possible, but suggest to always check with the provider directly for the most current information.

Hotels with flexible change policies

For reservations made prior to March 12, 2020:  You may now change or cancel any future reservation, without penalty, as long as you do so at least 24 hours before your scheduled arrival date, but not later than August 31, 2020.  This includes reservations described as “non-cancellable” or Advance Purchase.

Any individual reservations booked on and between March 12 and August 31, 2020 for any future arrival date can be changed or cancelled at no charge, up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival day.

All existing reservations (booked July 1, 2020 or before) for arrivals through July 31, 2021 can be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival.

With some very limited exceptions, reservations booked on July 1, 2020 or beyond – for arrival dates through July 31, 2021 – can be cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival.

Existing bookings (bookings made through April 6, 2020) at all IHG hotels can be changed or cancelled for stays up to August 31, 2020.

For new bookings they have several ways to support guests to amend travel plans as necessary, like fully changeable or refundable bookings up to 6pm (local hotel time) on the day of arrival.

For guests with existing reservations for any future arrival date, the policies that were in place at the time of reservation, or as previously communicated, will continue to be honoured.

For guests making new reservations on or after July 6 2020 for arrival dates through September 30 2020, Marriot will allow the reservation to be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled arrival date.

For guests making new reservations for arrival dates on or after October 1, individual hotel cancellation policies in place at the time of reservation will apply.

For existing reservations made prior to April 1, 2020, for stays until August 31, 2020, Radisson Hotels allow free modifications and cancellation.

New reservations made between April 1 and August 31, 2020, for any future arrival date can be changed or canceled at no charge, up to 24 hours before the arrival date. This includes reservations with the advanced purchase rates described as non-cancellable.

For all reservations made prior to 1 April 2020, including advanced purchase rates, travelling to any of our hotels globally before 31st of October 2020, Shangri-La will waive the cancellation charges regardless of booking channel, if cancelled more than 24 hours prior to arrival date.

Guests traveling with new or existing direct bookings for stays in any of our hotels through 30 June 2020 will have their cancellation or change penalties waived if the request is received at least 24 hours (or less if permitted by the hotel’s policy) prior to arrival.

For new or existing direct bookings with arrivals after 30 June 2020, all properties are required to accommodate non-cancellable rate reservation changes if the request is received at least 48 hours prior to arrival.
