Believe it or not, one in four Australians spend almost as much time searching for holidays as they do taking them.
Revealed as part of some research we conducted to mark KAYAK’s launch Down Under, it seems that while Aussies love to get away, many are fed up with the time it takes to plan and book trips.

Habits of Australian Travellers
Along with 31% admitting they’ve ditched completing travel bookings due to frustration, 33% said they spend more time trawling the net for flight and hotel deals than they do researching what’s worth doing at their destination.
And while the online travel scene has developed in all sorts of ways over the past few years, the vast majority of Aussie holidaymakers are spending the same amount or even more time planning and booking holidays than they did three years ago.
Time spent searching isn’t the only thing irritating Aussies when it comes to booking travel online. The discovery of hidden costs is something people find more annoying than dealing with fluctuating prices, confusing websites and information overload.
