Pros:

AVIS Montevideo was exceptional. The checkout was fast, courteous, and professional. There was some confusion regarding the location, which wasn't at the port as listed but at another location in Montevideo. They quickly reimbursed my cab from the port to the new location. Secondly, we had an issue with the rental car in Punta del Este and the AVIS location there also had a great customer service. We had a new car and were back on the road within minutes. Overall a great experience.

Pick up time was changed by phone but was never relayed to the pick up desk, which made pick up delay in over one hour.

Cons:

Hard to reach by phone. None of the numbers listed was available and did not answer.

Waited half an hour in the airport for pick-up, the car was old (80.000 kilometers), the radio was old and the charge for the mobile phone wasn't working. They didn't have another car for replacement.
