The car they gave me (Chevrolet onyx hatchback) was brand new with only 25km on it. They have a 2 hr grace period when you return the car.

Cons:

Despite my showing up at the correct time + place on the reservation, the business was completely closed. Calling Dollar was of no help as there was no one around to open up the business. I ended up having to travel to the airport at my own expense to rent a vehicle. Once there, I did not choose Dollar.

We showed up, had our confirmation information, and they had no word of the reservation. They made us pay a higher price and wait around for about 2 hours until they could find a car, clean it, and rent it to us.

The staff was fantastic, and getting the car and returning it was super easy. However the car was terrible, it was old, and made strange noises multiple times during the trip. We had low confidence it was going to make it to our destination. It was also quite expensive, which made the rental more than frustrating. In the future I will rent from one of the other companies as they all had newer cars.

Cons:

They didn’t honor the fare I had reserved, saying because i didn’t chose any insurance, i had to leave a $3000 deductible, which was insane so I ended up paying an insurance. Very bad experience

Cons:

I hired a golf or similar. Arriving at the car rental I was warned that they do not work with golf or similar and that the website kayak was responsible for the incorrect information. I was provided a nissan versa, car much cheaper than golf.

Pros:

They opened on a Saturday right on time and handled the check-out efficiently, as well as friendly. The return was just as easy. I was briefed on key features of the car as well. The size was perfect.

Cons:

The car operated well, with no problems on all sorts of roads, but could have been more fuel efficient. I missed some of the comfort extras, like better seats and cruise control, which are often offered in this same class of car, but perhaps not in Uruguay.

We rented a car to travel the country. the service at the car rental was efficient and friendly. My Spanish is terrible but the agent was extremely helpful and friendly. Great service.
