For some reason they dont allow us to hire the car and say our international license not allowed to drive an 8 searer although its a full license and theres nothing state that in the license nore when we booked it through the website as a condition so we left without car on our short trip in adelaide with full day planned that day. We asked if they have 5 seater to hire and they said they have none. Very dissapointing.

absolutely terrible. I don't know whether they have actual humans working for them tbh because you can spend over 30 minutes on the phone, trying all 3 phone numbers they provide you with with your reservation , and no one will answer the phone. Instead, you will get sent insane when the same 4 options come back for you to choose from when you select any option and no one answers the phone. Try emailing? You will receive an automated response in German! Don't bother wasting your time and being driven to brink of utter frustration and go with another company

Worst rental experience ever in my life. Took 2.5 hours before I could leave with my rental car due to no staff and no vehicles. And continuous lies saying the car will be arriving in 5-10 mins. 2.5hours for a day hire took my family’s time away from them. Very frustrating and unpleasant service

Avis tried adding a $500 one-way drop off fee that was not in the original estimate. It took several attempts to get it resolved. Had to talk to several agents and phone calls to help center. Truly a bait and switch on Avis’s part with lots off “we’re not able to take the charge off” and “we can’t override the system” conversations.

when arriving at Europcar to collect our 12 seat bus we were met with some confusion by the counter staff after completing the hire documentation and heading to the carpark to see our bus.. a 5 seat BMW SUV.. a lovely vehicle, just not what our sports team needed to move around Sydney... apparently this is a regular think from Kayak hirers.. Europcar changed our booking for the correct vehicle instantly and at no extra charge... happy as..

They did not honor the reservation I made via Kayak, saying that they did not need to honor this. They did not have the car I requested and tried to give me a smaller car for double the price. They did not accept insurance via CC and told me outright that there would be a scratch on the car when I returned and that it would cost me $6500 if I wanted to use my card and not take their insurance. They were arguing with other customers in the same way. Will never rent via Kayak or Europcar again.

The car was Matsuda’s CX-3 and I loved it. The key is automatically locked after leaving the car, the engine starts by only pushing the button, and it is fuel efficient. And above all, I could rent the car with no unnecessary options like insurance and road assistance, which I have never used in my life (Most shops silently add those options and it is really hard to cancel them for foreign travers who have no phone number in the country like me)

Terrible. Ordered and paid for an intermediate size SUV as I needed the hatch for golf clubs. Got given a Camry (4 door and a boot). Finally got given a small SUV with not even an offer of a cheaper price. I will never use Hertz again and I will never book through a third party. Hertz blamed you and they blamed me for using you. Never again.

Lots of hidden fees from Hertz. Sneaky wording in the email as well. We anticipated paying $340.73. The email we received had a total of $509.66 - I had anticipated some fees and taxes. When we got there we ended up paying $1176 for 2 days. The email was as follows; Due at pick-up: $340.73 Base Price: $88.38 Taxes and Fees: $252.35 You will pay AUD 509.66 at pick-up Which is far from the $1176 that we paid for a 2 day car rental. Very misleading and they don’t tell you until you get there so you’re stuck paying for it.

Great price and quality car. The pickup was a little confusing, as the supplied instructions were to call Apex to arrange transfer to pickup point, but no-one answered the phone, and the system was not working. We just saw the Apex transfer bus at the airport pull up and hopped on randomly. With the Apex depot off site, the car drop-off had to be done before 5pm, which was inconvenient for us, as we had a late night flight. It would have been good to have an extra cost option to be able to leave the car/keys somewhere else for after hours drop-off, but unfortunately this was not an option. But the hire car was good quality, well priced and the staff were great once we found how to get to the depot.

The car tires were almost flat and needed to be refilled twice over the course of the rental. The wipers needed to be replaced and an interior side panel kept falling off near the driver’s feet. It took a long time to get to the off-site location from the terminal, the check was time-consuming making the whole experience extremely long after arriving from an international flight. It is unlikely that I will rent from Crazy Clarks again.

I booked through Rentalcars.com for pickup at Bargain Car Rental in Hobart and drop off in Devonport. When I arrived at the Bargain Car Rental counter I was told the company no longer operates in Devonport, and so they would not rent me a car and I would have to contact RentalCars.com for a refund. The issue was, this was only a few days before Christmas and other companies were out of cars. I finally secured a little economy car for four times the price of the SUV I had booked through RentalCars.com. Bargain Car Rental refused to assist and I’m still pursuing reimbursement for the additional cost from RentalCars.com. Grrrr.

While this company claims to be at the Sydney International Airport, they are not actually at the airport, they're off site & have no rental desk, representative or courtesy phone at airport. While booking, this company's location is represented as "Sydney International Airport" with an address following it. It turns out if you search the address, that address is not at Sydney International Airport, despite claiming that it is. Instead, when you arrive and are told by all the other car rental places that they are off site and you have to call them, you have to use your own phone (an international call if you not from AUS) to request a shuttle be dispatched. After calling for a shuttle, the company sent ours to the wrong terminal even though we had provided our flight info when we booked the car rental. After waiting nearly 40 mins with an exhausted two year old & having to make a second international phone call to ask what was going on, the company blamed us for their mistake & insisted that we gave them the wrong terminal information (in reality they never asked what terminal we were at and assumed we were at the international terminal). They then insisted that I was supposed to call 24 hours ahead of time to schedule the shuttle (the instructions provided by them, in contrast, state nothing of the sort, only "For detailed pick-up instructions, please call [...] at least 24 hours before your pick-up time. Please go to: Priority Pickup Area / Rideshare Area. A shuttle will take you to the rental counter."). They disliked that I refused to accept responsibility for their mistake, that I pointed out that their instructions said nothing about being required to book a shuttle in advance while quoting what it actually said, and that in the process of disputing their accusations and complaining about the disaster that is their pickup process I swore on the phone. Their response was to threaten to not give us the car we had pre-paid for. The shuttle driver was appalled by how we had been treated and told us to ask to speak to a manager and report the behavior. At the off site location, the company representative insisted that he was the manager of the company and there was no one else in the company I could speak to in order to file a complaint and then claimed that I had broken a law, so he was within his right to not rent me the car I had already paid for. When I pressed them about what law I had broken, he then claimed it was actually an internal company policy that, as best he could describe to me, no one could ever actually know about or have been able to read ahead of time (& he couldn't produce it for me either). Finally another employee attempted to smooth things over by suggesting that it was a misunderstanding caused by poor communication by the third party booking service used (also not my problem and a reflection of their arrangement with these companies), and they finally gave us the car we had reserved and paid for. This was by far the least professional rental car company I've ever used and can not believe they treat their customers this way.

customer service person was in training so it took a lot longer, would have been better for a senior person to work with him to get it done faster. Manager was a bit blunt and rude, as a one-way fee was added at the counter and not when we made the reservation, which is why we chose dollar instead of another company. we probably would've went with another company closer if they would've just been up front with the fees. The manger just said "well you can take it or not take the car". a bit rude.

The Car was great and the service and shuttle good. The Insurance excess policy from Prosura was a joke and was not accepted by Turnballs, therefore i had no excess cover in place for the duration of the hire.

1. Economy is far from LAX & their shuttle only runs every 30-40 min from Lot C, which they don't tell you when booking. 2. Upon arriving, they only had minivans left, although I'd booked my sedan less than 1 hour prior. Shouldn't have been able to book a sedan if none were available! The minivan they gave me was on empty - they said I'd have to wait another 30+ min (after waiting 2 hours already) if I wanted one with gas. 3. The place is chronically understaffed. I waited over 30 min just to try to drop off my car, and after all that waiting, I still had to park it out back & toss them my keys without being seen for final inspection so I wouldn't miss my flight. In all that time, the shuttle only showed up once, as I was calling an uber to take me to LAX. I was assured that the shuttle ran every 15-20 min, but I'd been there for 40, and it only showed up that one time. 4. Prices online don't reflect taxes and other fees they'll add on. They almost charged the guy in front of me twice (he already paid when he booked). Basically, please don't put yourself through the nightmare of renting from them, even if their prices look better.

Economy Rent a Car is not a flashy rental company, however their prices make up for this fact if you are an economy traveler. If you are traveling to drive a car this is not the right place, but the company knows that and delivers the perfect experience for a traveler looking to get from A to B. The car was not new and had cosmetic damage, but in no way did that impact my enjoyment of my trip. Would rent from here again for sure.

Cons:

Drop-off is only during business hours, so be aware when planning flights and drop-offs. Additional charge of $25 to return 24 hours.

I called to find out where the office was and was told it was at the airport terminal. In fact it wasn’t there and we had trouble finding address on the instructions. When we finally got there, there was nothing there – no office, no sign. We kept calling the phone number and it took nearly 2 hours to get our car. The car was filthy. Qverall the whole experience was terrible and I will never use Yesaway again!

Car smelled of cigarette. I was told that there was airport transfer to the car park, but there wasn't, so I had to pay 2x Uber of about $30 each out of my own pocket. I paid $800 bond deposit that should have been refunded within two weeks of car return, it is now over three weeks and I'm still waiting, with no help from QEEQ and no response from the car supplier.

The staff at Jucy Melbourne airport were fabulous. We shared some laughs and easy conversations with Charlie who picked us up and dropped us back to the airport. The reception was also pleasant although the office could use a good clean it didn't impact the customer service. The car itself was mediocre but it was clean and did the job!

Had to wait nearly 2 hours for the car. We were never told about the fuel top up and got charged a crazy amount, $4 per litre. Not a good experience, would not recommend. Also still got charged for the 2 hours when they didn’t have the car ready.

More friendly service when we dropped off the car. One of the staff was unfriendly to customers when we entered the place. The bus driver dropped us off at the wrong airport terminal. When he dropped us off we thought we were at the international terminal, but we did not realize we were dropped off at the domestic airport. He did not tell us. I really think Alpha Car Rental staff need to be more helpful and friendly to foreign customers who are not familiar to Brisbane.

Cons:

After landing in Brisbane airport and immediately calling the Atlas pick up number I was placed on hold for 40 mins, all the while being assured my call would be answered in the next minute. I gave up and called the national office - took 3 goes, and finally spoke to a human who told me the Brisbane office was now closed and that I ad failed to show up! Never again.

The car pricing and quality were good, making value for money very good. The downside was the pick-up, and getting the car was somewhat chaotic. For whatever reason, only one staff member was present, and they had to juggle multiple roles at once. This meant the process of getting the car was slow. The car was clean inside but was dusty from the last rental. That is OK with me, apart from the T&Cs implying it has to come back clean: there is a $75.00 cleaning fee otherwise. The drop-off experience, on the other hand, was excellent. It was fast, and being chauffeured to the airport was relaxing and a great way to finish the trip.
