Halloween is coming up soon, so if you’re a fan of ghosts, ghouls, spirits, and the supernatural, you’ll probably want to finalise your plans. Where will you be travelling on your horrordays this year? We’ve already shown you suggestions for haunted trips to Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and India. Now, in this, our final instalment of Haunted Horrordays, we welcome you to a tiny nation packed with plenty of spooky sites: Hong Kong.

Old Spirits in Modern Hong Kong

Amid the shiny buildings and high-tech facilities, there are still spots in Wan Chai that harbour remnants of the past. Ghosts are said to haunt places like the old Nam Koo Terrace, with reports even given of spectral figures lining up in queues at a playground and tram station (travellers who don’t like to wait for their tram may find this especially convenient).

Hong Kong’s Hub of Haunting

Wan Chai, with its long and often difficult history from the colonial period, through the hardships of WWII and into the modern area, is known as the epicentre of ghostly activity in Hong Kong. This tour will take you to Wanchai Market, Southorn Playground, St Francis Street and Nam Koo Terrace.

Scared Silly At Disney

For younger or less gutsy travellers, there’s still a way to experience an edgy thrill. Who needs real ghosts when you’ve got Disneyland? While you may not be all that creeped out at Hong Kong Disneyland Park, their Mystic Manor is a must-do. Disneyland enthusiasts the world over count it amongst the best Disney rides in any of the park’s franchises, with thrills falling more on the side of adventure and suspense rather than horror, but heart-palpitating nonetheless. Also, check out their spooky activities for Halloween, starring well-known villains of Disney such as Ursula, Maleficent, Jafar and The Evil Queen.
