The pick up and drop off system were both great. My only complaint is the car smelled like cigarettes and we had to get a car freshener to mask the smell. Other than that, everything else was good.

Rental rate much higher than estimate when making reservation. Insurance cost higher than rental rate. Car was below empty on gas on pick up. Check engine light on. Poor brakes. No windshield washing fluid.

I typically do not write reviews, but this experience was beyond irritating. I went to the counter already pre-checked and on the budget app, which made no sense because I had to redo everything again to counter and added a bunch of items to my bill without even asking me, for example, he told me to click the screen five times. OK if I did not read it it said I was being charged for refill gas, which was an additional $90 so please be weary once you go to the counter and they will try to get you for everything if you don’t pay attention to your bill when I got to the vehicle, it was disgusting had stains all over the seat doors inside were all sticky, I would never run this place again

The car was unsafe to drive. The washer fluid didn’t spray. The brakes pulsated. The rear wiper was falling off and the Bluetooth wouldn’t stay connected. The car had 84K miles on it.

Car available with a full tank of gas, for a vehicle with 13,000 miles I expected the backup camera to work. The source of the vehicle did not have the windshield washer fluid filled, hence on returning the vehicle I had extreme difficulty seeing signs and other vehicles on the road and had to finish my trip to drop off the car with the driver’s window rolled down to see. Circumstances were very unpleasant and dangerous !

Our vehicle was double booked which caused us to have to wait and get a completely different vehicle. The vehicle we received was not fully cleaned and had coffee stains in the cup holders.

Stood in line for 30 minutes inside to check in for rental. After the check in, we were given a sticky note with numbers and told to stand outside by the white tent. Once there, we stood outside for almost a hour to pick up a random car that was given to us despite what was requested for the class we chose. The girl “issuing cars” was far from helpful and seemed annoyed if you had questions. Once in the car, the last renters trash was still in the doors, but overall a clean car with only 1100 miles. Drop off was easy and quick.

Not only was the car when we finally got it filthy and the gentleman did offer to go back and clean it but the more important thing is it. It was a two hour and 15 minute wait because they had 16 people in line and one employee I mean there were people in front of me that were trying to return a car and it took two hours and 25 minutes to return the car. Extremely unprofessional and extremely frustrating to all the people that were in line.

No vehicle (booked an Tesla) available at time of arranged collection. Offered a sub standard vehicle with no compensation, nor offered an alternative upgrade. I had to get a friend to take me to another site to pick up the Tesla. 2 hours delay on a very tight schedule day. Not happy, I would not use again.

The key fob died so i had to replace it they have yet to send me my reimbursement Also they gave me a electric rental in a city with 3 charging stations two of which were behind pay to park.

I request a car rental in Denver Airport and the reservation was made by mistake in Denver Downtown. I was unaware until I got to the airport and a Hertz employee explained that third parties sometimes do this when offering a best deal. However, by the time I got to Denver, the Downtown location was already closed. I hope no charge is made due to no show.

Rental car level was wrong when we picked up, then they lied about the coverage and he added more than asked for. We went to pick up the car and the lady outside then said we have an electric car, but we had a large SUV. Made me prove it in an email after the guy inside said we had a small SUV. It was a joke from start to finish.

The car i rented was running on some old tires. Two front tires wire was coming off. I had to go to the tire shop to switch out the tire, put my trip on hold. I was suppouse to go skii that day but i couldnt. Very dissapointed.

My experience with Dollar was very good overall, but the brakes needed replaced on the Ford Edge that we rented, and no credit was given for that.

Pros:

I guess with no one wanting to work, this is the new normal. There must have been a hundred people when we walked in the office. 2 people working. We waited an hour and heard rumblings that they were out of cars. 4 hours later we were pulling out of AVR with a car, which had stayed open late and another employee that had already clocked out came to the airport and picked us up. YAY AVR!!!

Pros:

I didn't rent a car from Dollar. Their line was more than two hours long. After that, there would have been an hour wait for a car to be cleaned to become available. I rented a car from National next door to Dollar. It took less than five minutes to get in a car and drive away.

Cons:

Dollar was understaffed and overbooked. They completely wasted my time.

Staff in Denver and Las Vegas were helpful.

Cons:

It was kinda unclear where to go in Denver. The busses weren’t running as much and it was 27° outside. Maybe ask Denver airport to do a better job.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
