Excellent 9.0
Pros: THE LOCATION JUST OPPOSITE OF THE NICE GARDEN
Cons: NEED SOME RENOVATION
Excellent 9.0
Pros: I hadnt a dinner in this hotel because of the reservation.
Cons: We wont to be normal from Covit 1919 .
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We booked a standard single room and two standard twin rooms during our stay in the hotel. All the rooms are large, spacious and very clean. We personally like the interior design of the hotel rooms and their comfy beds. There is a bar at 6th floor of the hotel, where we can have a drink before our sleep.
Cons: Strangely, the hotel does not provide mineral water/ drinking water in the room, so that we have to purchase from nearby convenience stores. In addition, the hotel also does not provide free parking for the hotel guests (we have to pay 700 yen per night for a car).
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very clean and comfortable rooom; quick check-in and helpful staff.
Cons: It would have been nice to have coffee in the roooms or in the reception.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location is very convenient coming from the train station and it is located near the Castle which has beautiful gardens. Breakfast was good, with Western and Japanese options, buffet style. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.

Okay 5.0
Pros: The onsen is great. The first floor has clearly been renovated and well taken care of. It seems best set up for people who visit the onsen without staying the night. It is one of the cleanest, best kept onsens I've visited.
Cons: The second floor (where the rooms are located) looked like a different hotel from a different decade. The carpet was old and buckling in some places. The room I had used to be or still is a smoking room, requiring the use of an air purifier which helped only marginally. I made it my goal to spend as little time in the room as possible, which was hard to do considering the location. The location is definitely for people with a car as it is located in a residential area far from Akita city.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room was beautiful and very comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious.
Cons: Because it’s brave new, it didn’t have the rustic feel that some historic onsens have. It’s accessible by bus, but the busses don’t run very often so make sure you’re on time.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Sauna & onsen
Cons: Welcome drink is just some flavoured water. A bit expensive.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Onsen was super relaxing and scenic. Food was great, and staff were fantastic.
Cons: Room still smelled like cigarettes a bit, but the air purifier they supplied helped with it.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Onsen was fantastic. Large bathing area and beautiful outdoor onsen.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Good
Cons: Good
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff did their best to fulfill our requests and even if they couldn’t understand, they will just a translator to do it.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Japanese style breakfast was amazing. Room was very big en clean in traditional Japanese style.
Cons: -
Good 7.0
Pros: Amazing sento, beautiful patio garden which created a great evening atmosphere in the common area.
Cons: Smoky smell in the hallways.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Wonderful big room. Much bigger than standard Japanese hotel, also the bathroom!! I really enjoyed the comfy bed with the soft huge duvet! Coinwashing and drying all for ¥500 was good price. View from the 14th floor was amazing!! Will definitely stay again.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.2
Very nice
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The cooling system worked well. They had blankets already in the room as an alternative to the heavy comforter. The room had a nice view and was quiet. There is a restaurant attached. We did not order breakfast.
Good 7.0
Cons: Stopped serving breakfast extremely early. Room a bit too hot.
Good 7.0
Pros: No
Cons: No problem
Excellent 9.2
The hotel is a bit of a walk from Akita station but it is near kuwabara, the drinking district of Akita city. The hotel is good for it's price. However, the building is quite old so it is quite different from the recent Daiwa Roynet Hotels
Excellent 8.5
Central location can walk to Senshu Park. A lot of restaurants nearby. Car park belongs to hotel and just adjacent to it.

Current name is Akita Hotel, but will be changed to ANA Crown Plaza Hotel in Dec 2021. It is connected to the SEIBU department store so was hard to find at first. It is very close to the station ( exit from west side ) and cross the intersection and walk up a slope. Staff are all very friendly. The room is a bit old, but I cold open the window and enjoy the fresh air breezing down from the mountains. At night if you turn off the main light and turn on the smaller yellow lights, the room is charming as is the unit bath/toilet. I gave a higher ranking because the breakfast is excellent and well prepared by chefs. Service is excellent too. Recommend it for this and proximity to the station and the park/museum and drinking establishments.
Excellent 8.0
As the hotel is becoming an ANA property at the end of 2021, I wonder if this will include an upgrade of the rooms and facilities. As it stands, during my stay, I definitely felt like the room had significant amounts of visible wear and tear — much more so than other business hotels I stay at during this trip. The bathroom was pretty old (it even had a bathroom phone that looked like it hadn't been touched in years) and the bathroom lighting was fairly dim/yellow. It made doing makeup impossible. The furniture had lots of dings and scratches, and the overall feel of the room was very early-Heisei era. However, the room itself was quite large by Japanese standards, and the location of the hotel relative to Akita Station was a huge selling point. Being able to walk to the hotel directly from the station via a covered walkway made getting there very easy, and I suspect this would be nice during rainy season or wintertime.
Excellent 8.0
Amazing breakfast and there is a sauna inside the hotel which you can use! The room was clean!
Excellent 9.6
Very good breakfast and lovely staff. A bit pricey, but the location is excellent. The spa and gym are not included in the price. The corridors smell of cigarettes, but the room and the restaurants are fine.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Location, cleanliness, good breakfast.
Good 7.0
Pros: The food was AMAZING. Location was nice too. Rooms were big enough.
Cons: There were freaken blood stains on my bed covers and various thing were dirty(as in old dirty, not dust)

Good 7.5
Pros: Large room.
Cons: Lack of activities at the Ryokan. Men Onsen is not so nice. Water is too hot and soapy.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Decent size of room, individual bathroom inclusive which is good for people are reluctant to use public onsen. Great various of breakfast, especially the salad is so fresh.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: It was a very authentic ryokan and onsen. The restaurant was great and the food amazing
Cons: It was a 2000 Yen trip by taxi from station and there was no casual dining on the premises
Excellent 9.2
Pros: the hotel was inviting and welcoming. staff were great. Onsen was amazing. Breakfast was awesome
Good 6.3
Pros: Onsen pretty good even through it’s not new. Breakfast pretty nice that comes with a traditional Japanese set with a mini hot pot (radish soup) and basic American buffet for western food. We stayed on top level 5. We took a very big Japanese room that can accommodate 6 paxs. View is great since it’s winter time, everywhere covered with snow.
Cons: Location not convenient especially without much restaurants available. Due to location, we didn’t go for a snow festival that we originally planned to. Wifi really lousy, only at the lobby or onsen area are ok. Need to bring room’s towels to onsen area. Price is also on the high end.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The onsen was accessible by bus from JR Akita Station. Take the Onsen line and get off at Onsen Iriguchi then walk a about 100m. Once you step in, you will forget you were even in a city. The staff went out of their way to assist me. Food was good. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. The entire place had a great traditional Jaspanese feel to it. I cannot sing enough praises about the bath. Try the outdoor one at least once in the winter. It's definitely an experience you cannot miss!
Cons: I couldn't book dinner through Booking.com and when I arrived at the property I was told that there was a cutoff time for booking dinner which I didn't make because of a late flight. I wish there was an option to do this online.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Spacious clean room, and great onsen which is really enjoyable. I like this location too for my pilgrimage because it is only 2 km from Seitai Hoshikai which houses the chapel where a wooden statue of the Virgin Mary wept many times for several years in the 70's. The hotel offers a great breakfast with large selection of food.
Cons: Only size M and L of the Japanese robe are provided in the room. I hope it provides small size as well because it is clumsy for a small person to wear overly long robe.

Good 7.0
Pros: Decent business style hotel and very central. Station is 1 minute away. Breakfast was pretty good.
Cons: Staff were helpful, and they gave us Mel vouchers, but the recommended restaurant wasn’t the best.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The location is ideal, very close to Akita station and several restaurants. The staff was friendly and polite. The complimentary breakfast was much appreciated. I think the quality and variety of the breakfast was very good considering it's free. There were plenty of options for Western-style breakfast too.
Cons: The grapes served at breakfast were still frozen.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good location near the station. Staff were nice. Breakfast was enough.
Cons: The layout of the room was odd. Sitting on the bed and watching TV was uncomfortable. Also, it was a little more expensive than other Comfort Inn hotels I've stayed in
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel was perfect in everything! We stayed there for 5 nights for our Golden Week vacation. The room was clean. Our stay included free breakfast and it was good. All of the precautions against infection were taken. The hotel is in 3-min walk from the station, has lots of amazing restaurants and conbinis around.
Cons: Sometimes there were problems with the magnet card keys, we couldn’t open the door, but the staff were always there to quickly help with the card. It may be our problem, but we couldn’t figure out exactly how to change the air conditioning in the room from heating to cooling.
Good 7.0
Pros: Excellent location. 5 minutes to station.
Cons: White lightning all over.
Excellent 8.0

Cons: Room decor and lighting

Well-kept rooms, delicious food and great onsen/bath experience!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The staff was always helpful. The onsen and restaurant were superb.
Cons: The mattress was a bit too firm for my liking but I still got good nights of sleep.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The onsen are superb indoor and outdoors plus the sauna. It’s very relaxing atmosphere and we slept soo well. They’ve different varieties of food at the breakfast. It filled our stomach until lunch time, soo delicious 👍👍😋😋
Cons: No bottled of water in the room 😥
Excellent 8.0
Pros: I Stayed here several times when traveling to Ishikawa or back to Aomori and I really enjoy the Onsen especially after a long day of driving.
Cons: The wifi seems not to work very well and could be updated.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything. The food, the spa, the staffs, the driver of the service. They’re very kind and friendly.
Excellent 10.0
Hotel Route Inn in Akita is very nice located and very clean. The personnel staff were very helpful and reliable. Onsen there is amazing. Highly recommended!
Excellent 9.7
Pros: We planned to use Akita as our base for day trips to the historic samurai village of Hakunodate and to Lake Tazawa, but the Route-Inn Grantia turned out to be a destination of its own. The staff was friendly (though I was glad to be able to speak Japanese), the service impeccable, and our room small but meticulously clean and well appointed (toiletries and tea provided; towels and jinbei for the onsen changed daily). Our floor featured a coin laundry and a vending machine with cup noodles. A Japanese breakfast buffet with a range of options is available for purchase for 850 yen/day, even if you don't include it in your reservation. I also highly recommend the restaurant on the premises, which serves a delicious rendition of the Akita specialty kiritanpo. Make sure to save time for the onsen! There are a variety of baths of different temperatures, both indoors and out.
Cons: There aren't many dining options around the hotel; you may want to either eat at the hotel restaurant or closer to Akita Station.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Nice hotel with decent room size(average hotel room size).
Cons: There is a fair bit of walking to the property area from the JR station considering the fact that to catch train or bus you need to come to the JR station. Other than that the stay was nice and it was comfortable.
Good 7.9
Pros: I love the behavior of staff there
Cons: I hate the smell of smoking in the room
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Good variety of food. Excellent location!
Good 7.9
Cons: Our room (for two people) was rather small.

Good 7.0
Pros: The price was the cheapest we could find during the new year holiday.
Cons: The room was a bit smaller than other APAs I have stayed in, and the bed harder/more uncomfortable than previous experiences. We picked this hotel because it was the cheapest but it's also the farthest away from the station, restaurants and bars. There is a massive step up into the bathroom so I wouldn't suggest if you have mobility issues. I think the hotel is a bit old which is fine, but the carpet is very lightly colored so you can see every stain that it has acquired which was a bit gross.
Good 7.0
Pros: Room is clean, enough facilities. Staff is good.
Cons: The mattress is too soft.
Okay 4.0
Cons: - Dirty floor in the room. - Hard to breathe in the smocking rooms, lack of ventilation.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: I liked Sasaki for his customer service and his help when I was experiencing problems with the GoTo voucher. Room was clean and checkin was easy.
Cons: Floor has stains. Bed was hard. Room smelled like faint cigarette smoke.
Excellent 10.0
Hotel APA is very nice located and very clean. The personnel staff were very helpful and reliable. I would like to stay there again. Highly recommended!!

Good 7.0
Pros: Location near night life but still very quiet.
Cons: Old room, kind of small.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Very clean and calm.
Cons: If close to Akita station more is very good
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The room was cozy with great lighting; the bed was big and comfortable; laundry facilities and ice provided on floor 3; free to take as much coffee as you wanted (though I did find it cheeky and amusing when Housekeeping removed some from my room, leaving me with the standard 2 sachets!); location quite central, about 10 minutes from Senshu Park and 20 from the train station...
Cons: I wish there had been more than 2 clothes hangers in the room; the one and only English language TV channel froze on day 3; I wish the hotel had the eco-friendly option of asking guests if they needed complete housekeeping service (not necessary to change bed linen - and certainly the bath robe - and even towels every day...), also maybe providing recycling bins on each floor so guests can dispose of their rubbish appropriately...
Okay 5.4
Pros: Location OK. Breafast reasonable spread
