Great location and very clean room.
no AC,no amenities
Helpful staff and clean room/facilities
Location was so and so - a bit far from the Center / area with few facilities (restaurants etc.)
Super friendly staff giving useful information and useful facilities
Very loud and constant noise at 7.40 In the morning coming from the laundry I guess
Although not central, the hostel is in a pretty good location. It's a little out of the city at the edge of the free tram zone, but still close to some attractions. It's probably reasonably quiet when bushfire smoke isn't triggering fire alarms. The mattress was okay even though the pillow was bad. The showers had good water pressure and I appreciated that there was a shower screen separating it from the rest of the stall.
First hostel I've stayed in where towels weren't provided. I didn't see this mentioned anywhere beforehand and had to pay $6 to hire one which was partially refundable, but still a ridiculous charge. The pillow on my bunk was very thin and too firm. The power points in the room were all on the opposite side of the room to my bunk. There was a USB point on the bunk, but it wasn't very obvious. The elevator was extremely slow in terms of both going between levels and the doors opening when you got there. Although not the hostels fault, a fire alarm was going off in a nearby building from 10pm to 4am so it was not a good night's sleep.
