It’s that time of the year when leaves start to fall and memories of summer start to fade. Thankfully, there’s a lot happening right now in Australia to cheer you right up without draining your credit card. We suggest using our Explore tool to help you map out places you can visit at an affordable cost.
1) Laugh till your tummy hurts at the Book of Mormon in Melbourne
Melbourne has got it going theatre side at the moment with the Australian debut of The Book of Mormon. After years of successful seasons on Broadway and London’s West End, the musical has finally touched down in Oz. Written by the creators of South Park, it’s a coming-of-age story of two young Mormons on their mission to spread the Lord’s word in war-torn Uganda. The damn catchy tunes and NSFW commentary is seriously side-splitting and will have you doing your best not to sing along at home in front of the children. Performances are on until mid-July at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne, with tickets starting from $50.80. You might also want to check out the Melbourne International Comedy Festival while you’re there!

2) Witness a whole new level of night illuminations at the Field of Light in Uluru
The award-winning Field of Light, a global phenomenon by internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro, has been extended for another season until March 2018! Photos of this mesmerising event floating around your social media might have already grabbed your attention. The exhibition sees more than 50,000 slender stems crowned with radiant frosted-glass spheres, spread around Uluru over an area the size of seven football fields. Now is an ideal time to visit, as the scorching red centre heat of summer is over and the weather is a little more temperate.

3) Indulge in gourmet food at Taste Great Southern in Western Australia
Taste Great Southern is a diverse food and wine event located along the pristine southern coastline and farming hinterland of Western Australia. We recommend heading to the free Rockcliffe Night Market on 24 March to watch local food producers, artisans and a fabulous variety of performing artists including Miguel Maestre and Anna Gare cooking live on stage. Must try foods include oysters and seafood, cereal crops, beef and lamb, married with a taste of Shiraz, Riesling or Pinot Noir! The food festival is on from 23 March until 9 April.

Mov’in Bed has a packed screening program with multi-award-winning international movies such as Mustang, The Age of Shadows and A Royal Affair, which will have you coming back for more.
