The food was decent, plane was delayed and we flew business. It would’ve been good if they brought over some more drinks during the delay. Maybe they should’ve started preparing the supper meals on the ground too so they were ready to go when we finally took off just because it was a red eye flight of just 5 hours and it would have made much more sense to allow us more sleep time.

The seats in business are totally weird. There is a metal foot rest that’s quite common in premium economy but the stretch seemed very short. I’m a short guy and I found my feet hanging over this bar which was uncomfortable. Also the pitch of the seat and short seat made both my partner and I slide down the seat. Perhaps the seats Jet star selects for its business could have calf rests that are located higher up so our legs are elevated more like in a chaise lounge or hammock for don’t slide down. The absolute worst thing about Jetstar flights are the passengers. The lowest common denominator Australians book budget airlines (especially Jetstar) and they rush the gate, over pack their 7kg of carryon, they are rough and loud and have little control of their children. They don’t know the difference beteeen inside and outside voices and speaking to someone face to face instead of shouting from a distance. Perhaps Jetstar should have a flying etiquette email and in seat card to remind people of how to behave. One braided head wench was berating the poor guy checking tickets at the gate who asked her to finish her water as a condition of EVERY AIRLINE and AIRPORT. He didn’t deserve her uneducated rudeness.

I have put past a lot of things that jetstar airlines have done in the past, including the 140$ that I had to pay to change and pay to rebook or pay to cancel and there were no given supports with credits, so I ended up abandoning the flight altogether losing the money. I flew jetstar from Sydney to Sunshine Coast with my backpack a personal bag and a tote bag. I had previously paid 20$ for checked luggage. Making my total for the flight 80$ no one asked to weigh my bags or questioned them. Making the 20$ extra just disappear? . They did make me throw out my beverage upon entered the aircraft that I just purchased, I would assume because it’s a ‘safety issue’ even though the airline does not give complimentary anything so I’m assuming it’s mostly competition of sales.In Gold Coast I checked my bags through security got to the gate and they had a trolly weighing bags. They asked me if I was traveling with someone else which I replied with a no. They then weighed my backpack saying it was 7kgs and I had to come with them to the front. So my backpack personal item and tote bag was too much all of a sudden. I offered to give up the tote bag which then turned the situation into that all of my bags were over weight and it was going to charge me 60$ for my 7kg backpack. I said 60$ was expensive and I paid 20$ last time for my checked bags on the way here that I hadn’t used and he said too bad. Meanwhile the majority of people boarding past me had had rolling luggage and an additional bag or a personal item and when I said something to the employee he told me I’m wrong and they were all weighed and it’s 60$ for my belongings to be checked and put under the plane? Because 60$ somehow made the weight of the flight more light? Horrible customer service. I didn’t get I’m sorry any compassion I got what are you paying with? I paid 60$ or miss my flight. 60$ could have given me one more flight. Also to mention the flight was not even completely full so what did that 60$ accomplish? Awful awful awful . So in the future I suppose I’m just going to donate 20$ regardless if I have checked luggage or not because paying for everything is the only consistent thing on jetstar. On the positive side they let me jump the line after I paid 60$ for my “overweight luggage” and I got to my assigned seat more quickly.

This companies business model is high friction. I ended up with two tickets for my daughter on the same flights as one of their affiliates had problems with their website so it told me I wasn’t successful booking when i later found out the message was wrong. In the interim i booked the small flights on Tiger. I called both companies 4 times got the usual Asian call center responses and finally someone had the guts to tell me they would do nothing about it. Just insane and that’s what you will be if you ignore my advice. My daughter ended up with two flights she could never use and they would not do a single thing to help apart from go through their call center script to keep their jobs. You have been warned. Kayak should never refer people to gotogate.com. They offer similar customer service and would also do nothing.

No leg room (, I’m short.) Bad seat pockets, reduced knee room even further with anything in them. Armrests didn’t stay up. -the weighing of all hand luggage was over zealous, and could only be for the purpose of charging extra, if at all possible.

Flight time rescheduled meaning we had very little time for connecting flight. Then they checked our luggage in (weighed 8.5kg and only 7 allowed (charged $108). The booking in of the bags meant one of our party missed connecting flight. She arrived at gate while plane was still there and Capt said he would wait but ground staff over-ruled decision. Not happy.

This is my third time flying with Virgin Australia from LAX to Sydney return. I LOVE this airline. The staff at every point are friendly, responsive, professional and helpful. I loved the service on board. Nothing seems to be too difficult (this was refreshing as I have flown on many flights throughout Asia and America where the service ethic was not strong. Experiencing airlines such as Qantas, United, Asiana, China Eastern, British Airways, Southwest Airlines and many more). Food was good. My kids loved the snacks; chips, Weiss mango icecream, apples, Hawaiin chips etc. A big shout out for the friendly airline. Keep up the great service.

15 hour flight and the crew walked up and down the isle every 3-4 minutes shining a flashlight in your face and over all the seats. I asked if this would continue all night and they said yes as it’s how they check on drunk passengers etc and that it was part of the aircraft safety. Was very intrusive and impossible to sleep.

Seats reclined comfortably but were definitely cramped & crew was pleasant. I got my first choice on meals in both economy x while sitting in the front while headed to Oz and regular economy when sitting in the back on the way home.

Only one drink service included, which came with the first meal. The rest of the options were water throughout the flight until breakfast when juice or coffees and teas were offered. Entertainment was a little dated, including HBO series from the early 2000’s rather than newer shows. Flight was an hour late without explanation & there wasn’t the starry night sky that I heard so much about. Overall I’d fly again if it was a good flight deal but I wouldn’t specifically seek the airline out when planning another trip.

Seemed like a good pilot - that's most important. Modern Plane.

1) The boarding from the rear/tarmac/stairs. 2) The officious attendant at check in. 3) The insane rule that a small carry on (that meets all international guidelines) cannot weigh more than 7 kg. 4) The pitiful beverage service (water/juice/coffee/tea) not even sparkling water. The price was high enough - not to have to put up with these issues.

Flight departed slightly late but arrived on time. Great movies to choose from. They gave you little kits that had a sleep mask, toothbrush and toothpaste, and ear plugs. The food and drinks available were good. There was a USB and outlet for charging.

My husband’s screen didn’t work for watching movies and his seat did not recline, but mine did.

check in easy at Adelaide airport

The plane had small drop down screens every 4 or 5 rows which are totally inadequate for watching anything. gives no choice and poor sound quality (lag between vision and sound) Pork meal was some sort of tasteless slop in a cardboard box with rice and a green veg. It seem as if short flights are getting a raw deal with old planes and sub standard food, systems to save costs. If they cannot maintain a consistent level of standard across all their products let another provider in who can.

Food: all food cost. Coffee/tea was four dollars. We pre-ordered our food and it was not available. They substituted our food with a large “cup of noodles“ which was terrible. Very surprised that all food cost. Too many unexpected fees. I’m uncomfortable plane! Way too crowded! Was charged and unexpected fee for a visa. Jetstar charged $50 per person! Flight was 9 1/2 hours late!

The flight was on time

The rear of the plane was filled with screaming babies, loud uncontrolled children kicking the seats in front of them (mine). Equally loud mothers baby-talked continuously to their offending offspring with no effect. Cabin staff made no attempt to control the noise levels. I recognize some of these small children could have been suffering ear pain from the cabin pressure changes but trained cabin staff could have offered remedies for this. It does not explain the continuous screaming at cruising altitude. I recognize that JETSTAR is an intentionally cheap and nasty airline. I reluctantly took this flight because there was no quality service (like QANTAS) at the time I required. I accept the lack of amenities offered by REAL airlines like complimentary food, drink, entertainment and healthy legroom are the cost of cheap travel but I would have happily paid a higher price for QANTAS had there been a flight. I will not fly JETSTAR again and if no alternative exists with QANTAS, I will choose another airline in spite of my long allegiance to QANTAS CC: QANTAS

Jetstar ground staff on the Gold Coast were assholes. Insisted on weighing our cabin baggage before chargins us $60 for one item that was 1.5KG over the 7KG limit! When we got on a half empty plane there were approx 6 completely empty overheard lockers!! There were very rude and pushy and really got out holiday off on the wrong foot. Won't be flying Jetstar again!

Food: all food cost. Coffee/tea was four dollars. We pre-ordered our food and it was not available. They substituted our food with a large “cup of noodles“ which was terrible. Very surprised that all food cost. Too many unexpected fees. I’m uncomfortable plane! Way too crowded! Was charged and unexpected fee for a visa. Jetstar charged $50 per person! Flight was 9 1/2 hours late!

I have put past a lot of things that jetstar airlines have done in the past, including the 140$ that I had to pay to change and pay to rebook or pay to cancel and there were no given supports with credits, so I ended up abandoning the flight altogether losing the money. I flew jetstar from Sydney to Sunshine Coast with my backpack a personal bag and a tote bag. I had previously paid 20$ for checked luggage. Making my total for the flight 80$ no one asked to weigh my bags or questioned them. Making the 20$ extra just disappear? . They did make me throw out my beverage upon entered the aircraft that I just purchased, I would assume because it’s a ‘safety issue’ even though the airline does not give complimentary anything so I’m assuming it’s mostly competition of sales.In Gold Coast I checked my bags through security got to the gate and they had a trolly weighing bags. They asked me if I was traveling with someone else which I replied with a no. They then weighed my backpack saying it was 7kgs and I had to come with them to the front. So my backpack personal item and tote bag was too much all of a sudden. I offered to give up the tote bag which then turned the situation into that all of my bags were over weight and it was going to charge me 60$ for my 7kg backpack. I said 60$ was expensive and I paid 20$ last time for my checked bags on the way here that I hadn’t used and he said too bad. Meanwhile the majority of people boarding past me had had rolling luggage and an additional bag or a personal item and when I said something to the employee he told me I’m wrong and they were all weighed and it’s 60$ for my belongings to be checked and put under the plane? Because 60$ somehow made the weight of the flight more light? Horrible customer service. I didn’t get I’m sorry any compassion I got what are you paying with? I paid 60$ or miss my flight. 60$ could have given me one more flight. Also to mention the flight was not even completely full so what did that 60$ accomplish? Awful awful awful . So in the future I suppose I’m just going to donate 20$ regardless if I have checked luggage or not because paying for everything is the only consistent thing on jetstar. On the positive side they let me jump the line after I paid 60$ for my “overweight luggage” and I got to my assigned seat more quickly.

THE PRICE OF THE TICKET IS WHY YOU WOULD FLY JETSTAR. OTHERWISE, YOU WOULDN'T FLY JETSTAR.

The food menu is very limited to bready, carbohydrates - not a single salad or actual meal is available. Everything is tv dinner style. The entertainment only changes every few months so if you are frequent flyer with JetStar, you'll get bored of the movie and TV selection within three flights. The customer service varies wildly. I had one flight where a steward spilled a cup (literally) of water on me and handed me two napkins, and another flight where they moved me to a more comfortable seat upon request. Also, the JetStar membership is a JOKE! I paid for a year membership with the offer of deals and lower, membership prices. HA! I have yet to see an international offer, and they only reduce prices of say entertainment by $1. Also, they don't have an actual MILES program. If I was flying with ANY other company, I would have received some type of positive upgrade for all my flying with them. I must have flown 100,000 miles with them this year already.

During the international flight a lot was not healthy. The crew were disinterested in the work in economy class with the exception of a very helpful young man. The announcements couldn't be understood, the speakers crackled so much and the stewardesses spoke in very heavy accents. There was still debris from the previous flight in the seat holders. The entry into the plane smelt unfresh . The TV. Programming was limited and often did not work. Overall it was a flight that lacked international standards. The final flight to cape Town was excellent. I was going to write you a letter. We are capable of much higher standards and I felt ashamed. The international flight to Perth was better but the flight back from Perth was not good. Every flight should be welcoming and helpful. The attitude and involvement of flight crew makes or breaks the journey even if the craft is old and not perfect With regards eva young and trusting that this review canbe of help.

Pleasant crew.

Appalling that in this day and age, Virgin does not cater for gluten intolerance. It's not hard to have meals without wheat, yet there's never a gluten free option even when there are non-Pasta based dishes such as curries and stir-fries. Gluten intolerance is so common these days so it's unbelievable that Virgin doesn't try to ensure at least one of the dishes doesn't have wheat/gluten. A 5 hour trip to/from Perth to Brisbane is a very long time to have no savoury meals. I never thought I'd say this, being a loyal Virgin flyer; Qantas is looking more appealing as they cater for GF meals Alim domestic flight and have started to improve their customer service.

great service, good crew... everything was fine - except for alternative food options - as I've mentioned here.

there wasn't any gluten free food options on board, even though food was served as part of the flight. I didn't see anywhere on the website it mentioned that alternative meal options weren't available. fortunately, I took my own food on board for the 5 hour flight.

No leg room (, I’m short.) Bad seat pockets, reduced knee room even further with anything in them. Armrests didn’t stay up. -the weighing of all hand luggage was over zealous, and could only be for the purpose of charging extra, if at all possible.

The food was decent, plane was delayed and we flew business. It would’ve been good if they brought over some more drinks during the delay. Maybe they should’ve started preparing the supper meals on the ground too so they were ready to go when we finally took off just because it was a red eye flight of just 5 hours and it would have made much more sense to allow us more sleep time.

The seats in business are totally weird. There is a metal foot rest that’s quite common in premium economy but the stretch seemed very short. I’m a short guy and I found my feet hanging over this bar which was uncomfortable. Also the pitch of the seat and short seat made both my partner and I slide down the seat. Perhaps the seats Jet star selects for its business could have calf rests that are located higher up so our legs are elevated more like in a chaise lounge or hammock for don’t slide down. The absolute worst thing about Jetstar flights are the passengers. The lowest common denominator Australians book budget airlines (especially Jetstar) and they rush the gate, over pack their 7kg of carryon, they are rough and loud and have little control of their children. They don’t know the difference beteeen inside and outside voices and speaking to someone face to face instead of shouting from a distance. Perhaps Jetstar should have a flying etiquette email and in seat card to remind people of how to behave. One braided head wench was berating the poor guy checking tickets at the gate who asked her to finish her water as a condition of EVERY AIRLINE and AIRPORT. He didn’t deserve her uneducated rudeness.

This companies business model is high friction. I ended up with two tickets for my daughter on the same flights as one of their affiliates had problems with their website so it told me I wasn’t successful booking when i later found out the message was wrong. In the interim i booked the small flights on Tiger. I called both companies 4 times got the usual Asian call center responses and finally someone had the guts to tell me they would do nothing about it. Just insane and that’s what you will be if you ignore my advice. My daughter ended up with two flights she could never use and they would not do a single thing to help apart from go through their call center script to keep their jobs. You have been warned. Kayak should never refer people to gotogate.com. They offer similar customer service and would also do nothing.

As usual, flight attendants were there when you needed them.

Chaos at the boarding gate. Business queue used by everyone. Boarding by section a joke. Everyone knows the gate staff aren't going to send them back so it's a free -for-all. Not sure about the cardboard meal box either - it's cheap and nasty. Meals were never a pleasure but now they are abominable.

The plane had small drop down screens every 4 or 5 rows which are totally inadequate for watching anything. gives no choice and poor sound quality (lag between vision and sound) Pork meal was some sort of tasteless slop in a cardboard box with rice and a green veg. It seem as if short flights are getting a raw deal with old planes and sub standard food, systems to save costs. If they cannot maintain a consistent level of standard across all their products let another provider in who can.

Nothing, had I known Jetstar was such a poor quality airline I would've never booked the flight. not to be rude just being honest they didn't even offer me water. For a five hour flight that is absolutely ridiculous,

The fact that both my recent Jetstar flights have been delayed (to & from Rarotonga, and today’s flight was so late I missed my connecting flight & it meant a disadvantage to my family plus $221 extra for me to buy another ticket.

Boarding exceptionally slow due to intensive screening of each passengers hand luggage. Opportunististic for making an extra $36/bag if a gram over 7. Seat unable to recline. Literally not enough room for legs and needed to sit sideways and I’m not that tall!

Nothing.

Flight time rescheduled meaning we had very little time for connecting flight. Then they checked our luggage in (weighed 8.5kg and only 7 allowed (charged $108). The booking in of the bags meant one of our party missed connecting flight. She arrived at gate while plane was still there and Capt said he would wait but ground staff over-ruled decision. Not happy.
