Just a hiccup being added to the NZ Traveller Declaration a bit late.
Boarding instructions on one leg of my journey were not well communicated at the gate (Melbourne to Auckland)
Cons: "Waited 55 minutes for baggage claim in Auckland. No reason given. I expect better service from Air New Zealand even though I understand the baggage handler’s are different group"
Pros: "Great crew and counter staffing. Only took about 10 minutes to get my ticket and half of that was due to some snag with the NZ visa details."
Pros: "I had to cancel the flight because the have customer service very poor in air New Zealand vancouver BC agents the could not solve a simple problem in esta that happened to me similarly in Australia with the same problem of esta if they are not efficient they should be replaced there many good candidate for airlines in Vancouver BC"

Cons: "I had no heads up that New Zealand required an app downloaded and a government check before you can travel to New Zealand. Because of this, I had to download the app at the airport, and because it can take up to 72 hours for the NZ gov to approve your app, I almost missed my flight. Would have appreciated 72 hours notice of this new rule."
Pros: "The crew was wonderful, very hospitable and friendly."
Cons: "The seating in economy class is abysmal. The seats are extremely small and the rows are to close together. There is no leg room. The seat cushioning is almost nonexistent. It's like sitting and leaning back on a board. On this last trip I had a window seat. I'm 5'4" and 115 lbs."

After Qantas staff asked us we have the option to book our hotel and then email per written letter. I was denied my right for a $300 voucher after the flight was delayed 24h. Wael Idriss On Nov 22
We were seated in the furthest back row of the plane. Our seats seemed to be the only ones that didn't recline, and our seat row was also closer to the seats in front of us than any other route. I'm a tall man, and this made the long overnight flight extremely uncomfortable and near impossible to sleep on. There was nothing indicated in booking that this row was tighter than the others.
We were downgraded from business class to premium economy with no advance notice. The staff at the gate were extremely rude, the crew on board not very interested in our comfort, mostly stood in the galley and talked with each other. The food was about the worst I have had and the portions were small ( and I am not a big eater). altogether sbout as disappointing an experience as is possible
Polite staff but incompetent staff. They changed my window seat to isle seat and then lied saying the seat was broken, yet I see someone else sitting there! They lost my luggage. Their standards have dropped a lot compared to pre-pandemic.
My flight from Sydney to LA the headphones and the jack didn’t work. I informed the crew member it was an over 15 hour flight with no sound in entertainment. I asked if they had kosher or halal options in one of the flights to Brisbane, the crew member wasn’t pleasant in the reply. I took the vegetarian option that’s fine but surely the crew member can say no in a more pleasant way. Although I had a great time in Australia. Thank you
Ease of boarding. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good. In flight entertainment great.

When I suggest to a staff member that perhaps they should keep customers informed, they said they couldn’t because they didn’t know. They helpfully suggested I google for information! Seriously!"

Excellent staff made the boarding process fast and easy. Friendly crews on both flights from Saigon to Taipei and Taipei to Los Angeles. Will fly China Airlines again.
Food - while flying in Japanese style was edible, returning options were not edible to me

It was not at all clear when purchasing the tickets that checked baggage was not included and cost $540 per bag. That’s unacceptable. I see it was clear if booking direct through the airline and a different economy ticket could have been purchased that included baggage. Kayak linked to flight centre where it was not clear though and there was no option to purchase the baggage inclusive economy version.
Excellent service all staff where very friendly patient and efficient solved a boarding problem for me due to me not being able to access the visa portal for the USA.
