Pros: "The crew on air New Zealand was absolutely amazing. Amazing customer service, makes me always want to fly with air New Zealand."
Cons: "I had no heads up that New Zealand required an app downloaded and a government check before you can travel to New Zealand. Because of this, I had to download the app at the airport, and because it can take up to 72 hours for the NZ gov to approve your app, I almost missed my flight. Would have appreciated 72 hours notice of this new rule."

We had to pay an unexpected $320 on the day of flight. It was ridiculous and while we were boarding the flight attendants held us up again bc we had not paid the fee. But we tried to pay the fee at the front desk the first time and then we paid it at the gate and then boarded last on the plane. It was awful. The staff did not know anything and we were not treated great. Super unprofessional and disappointed at Kayak for not laying out all the costs ahead of me."

Got to the airport and Air New Zealand was going to charge 134 AUD for each checked bag. Fortunately, they recommended going to the Virgin Australia counter to see if they could add a checked bag to our ticket. The nice people at Virgin used an online code to give us a discount so we only paid 25 AUD a bag. Thanks a lot for the heads up Kayak. We will book direct next time to avoid surprises. Also, almost all movies on Air New Zealand were an extra charge, and the only drinks offered for free on a 3 hour flight were coffee, tea, and water - no soft drinks."

Why can't USA folks and TSA figure this out? Updates from flight deck were good and pilot seemed to avoid some expected turbulence. Cabin crew friendly, competent, helpful. Food was very good, nice touch with comp wine. Entertainment options were many and good variety. Hope to fly ANZ again someday."

Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia kept handing me off to each other since it was booked as virgin Australia but on an air New Zealand flight. Neither wanted to help at first. Finally virgin Australia ticket agent took pity and helped me rebook for the next day. This was after I was told by air New Zealand that I had to call the booking number for virgin Australia. I’m traveling from the US and didn’t have a cell phone that worked in Australia... which I explained and asked how I could call the number without a phone. Was promptly told to go over to Virgin Australia ticket counter where I made the one remaining agent who was closing the desks help me. However the airport lost my luggage and could not find where it was. I ended up spending three hours in the airport and still no luggage with the baggage company saying they have no record of it anywhere. Very frustrating trip."

Fortunately the crew was kind and they provided a sinus decongestant in a cup for me to sniff and breath in so the smell could open up my nasal passages and it helped a bit."

Cons: "Upon looking at the flights out of Peru we found that there were a lot more choices for returning to Tampa. We were looking at 37 hours of lay over between Lima and Miami. Upon finding the flights with less lay over time we changed our flights and were hammered with $400 change fees. Seemed a bit deceptive that all the flights were not listed when we originally booked. Will use a travel agent next time to make sure we do not run into this situation again."

Cons: "Having flown with LAN multiple times the only time you receive good service is when you fly in Business Class. Recently I have been flying economy and from the moment checking in to leaving the plane is a terrible experience. I have had on numerous occasions when checking in at the airport that I was lied to regarding the seat I was in. Or there was more than one person with the same seat. Food and the wine is awful. I would not even eat it if I was starving. When flying the overnight/ morning flight they leave the cabin lights on pretty much the entire way, their excuse is that they need to serve dinner, but who serves dinner at 0500 in the morning anyways. My last flight I asked if I could borrow a pen, and they told me they do not give out pens to customers. I will never fly LAN again except for business class. On American Airlines they are a lot more friendlier. Also a shame that they do not have a way of recognising the people that fly with them frequently, I have flown with LAN 10 times in the last 12 months. They have a bad attitude."

We were told that if we had paid in advance it would be cheaper, but we didn't know what the weight of our bags would be so I just figured I'd pay at the airport. They didn't say that they charge so much more at the airport - which is a total rip off. We were also harassed by not having the email that showed we purchased an Australian Visa which is digitally tied to our passport. If they need to verify our Visa, then they should have the electronic means to verify it. Also, we were traveling from Sydney to Auckland so since we were leaving the country I'm not sure why they had to see our Australian Visa in the first place. We were already in the country!"

Cons: "RIDICULOUS baggage fees. Because I booked through Kayak I never received a confirmation from the airline. When we went to check In at the airport I was informed I would have to pay $160 PER BAG and $35 PER KILO over 15kg. The agent informed me that I needed to pay baggage fees based on weight at the time I booked. How in the hell am I supposed to know 2 months in advance how much my luggage weighs? The baggage fees were 4 times the price of the ticket! And then they weigh your carry on to try to collect even more fees if the total weight of your carry on exceeds 7kg. No food or water on board and VERY rude head flight attendant. NEVER AGAIN and I will think twice about booking through Kayak given I was never informed of these fees in advance."

Pros: "we were not offered in advance to buy luggage and where then told it would cost us $25 per kg, when we had 5 people and over 100 kg on us, at $2500, that would have been double what we paid for the flight for a paltry 20 kg per person, which is highway robbery. we declined the flight and booked again on qantas. stay away from this crooked airline."

Cons: "Horrific! My sister, mother and I paid 1000 Australian dollars for baggage. An outrageous amount because I apparently didn't specify that we would be checking our 3.bags. The crew was very nice but the plane was dirty and they gave you absolutely nothing. Awful."

They could have easily put it in a small box, put it under the plane, and charge me $25 at the most for it. Instead I had to give it to the clerk at the counter because I only paid $20 for the item. I didn't mind having to put it under the plane but for $70?"

The voucher they gave to compensate was more of an insult than anything. They also have ridiculously low maximum weight limits for carry on and then charged absurd rates for checked luggage."

Cons: "Food was non existent (that's the way this airlien operates. Water was not even offered but they supplied water when asked but not bottled water."

Cons: "I will never fly Jetstar again!! ONLY AFTER I BOOKED AND PAID, the system allowed me to book my baggage. Imagine my disgust when I was charged over $100 per bag!! If I had known the outrageous baggage charge, I would not have used this airline, and I never will again."

Cons: "Check-in crew tried to earn money, tried to rip off. Didn't allow even 1kg extra on cabin bag. Just trying to make $50 for check-in bag by any means possible. Many passengers were traveling with excess luggage but lady got picky with us for last kg. Had to throw so much of our stuff, gifts/souvenirs that we bought during our sydney/melbourne vacation."
