Cons: "Seats were still rather cramped for my poor husband, who is 6'3. It is very hard to get out of your seat if you're in a window and all the seats on front are fully reclined, and I am relatively spry! Can't imagine an elderly or debilitated person trying to do so! The in flight movies were great, but you had to use the headphones they provide, and none of the 3 pairs I tried worked well. All had constant static. Although the seats recline far, they also do it abruptly and are hard to get to come back up. The dinner (we had the beef) was not very good. The quality of the ground beef was what you would expect from a fast food place. The worst part of the flight was that the sat ALL the infants in the same area on the plane, and all right around us. 5 of them, to be exact. 17 hours of on and off screaming babies! My husband had to move to a different seat to get some sleep! Thankfully, I can sleep through anything. Overall, less terrible than I expected a 17 hour flight to be, but could have been better. Some crew were very nice and helpful and others not so much. The first woman my husband asked told him (rather abruptly) that he wouldn't be able to use his CPAP machine. Then a really nice guy helped him get it set up. The turbulence was a bit scary for me, and the way the captain would announce it didn't help! He'd just say "all passengers and crew be seated and fasted your seat belts" in a rather grim tone as the plane shook violently."

I asked hostess what the deal was (because their food service is usually great) and she explained that in this new plane (Boeing 787) they removed a lot of the working areas for the crew. They have less space to work in order to be able to prepare food and drinks compared to Qantas's other planes (Airbus A380). This is also a brand new plane for this crew (literally the first flight for some for some of them), and they didn't know where some of the things on the plane were. I imagine after they've used the plane for a while and learn where everything is, they'll get better. I'll find out on the return flight back to Melbourne."

Cons: "I landed in Sydney but had a Qantas connecting flight to Melbourne. The baggage was checked in at Dallas thru to Melbourne. You need to drop off the baggage back to Qantas after clearing Customs in Sydney. Unfortunately Qantas makes you walk quite a long distance to to baggage drop off point. The experience made me think of experiences I have had in developing countries. I expected more thoughtful logistical arrangements from Qantas in Australia."

So two very serious questions that I have not yet gotten a satisfactory answer... 1) why were they allowed to re-book me without my consent? Every other situation, including changes to this itinerary in the past, I was told no changes could be made without my approval? 2) if they had already give away our confirmed seats, why in heavens did they tell us to run? At the airport I got a variety of answers that seemed to be pointing fingers since Sydney flight was Virgin Australia and LAX was Delta....despite codeshare seems these two companies do not work so seamlesslessly and one has no real idea what the other is doing....to the travelers detriment."

Why is it so hard for Jetstar to get boarding a plane correct? In this current environment why have everyone on the plane early to just sit on the plane while they work out where their boarding system went wrong resorting to using a hand held counter to check numbers on the plane Having everyone on the plane for longer than necessary is very annoying then when arriving at the destination it takes 1/2 for ground crew handling baggage to get the bags out again this creates issues with keeping people in confined spaces longer than necessary

Cons: "Pre bought meals and wasn't permitted hot chocolate for children. Eventually given and nothing said. On the journey over hot choc offered. Not a big deal. I think you fall down in customer service by not supplying a little like coffee and hot choc and a free snack. Possably will avoid flying Jetstar again. Service is paramount. And no entertainment available because it wasnt a long haul just a short haul though international. Mmmmm no to Jetstar i feel. I own a resort and i know what customer service must feel like."

Cons: "Flight was almost 2 hours late. Short flight ended up being over 2 hrs as landing conditions were not suitable and plane had to keep hovering around the airport for a long time before it was cleared to land. Crew was very nice. Seats very roomy in economy."

Cons: "Forced to check carryon because it was over 7 kilograms, but it is a standard carryon suitcase. Weight is irrelevant as it goes in the same plane. I understand keeping folks in check so they don’t bring big bulky items, and I get pushing the weight angle to drive sales, but taking the bag (after folks have paid for the “extra weight”) and putting it in the belly is excessive. As a male, I had no purse and all of my items were taken from me and I had to hope they made it to the other side (which they did, but it isn’t always the case). However, my wife was allowed to have two items (purse and carryon) as long as each were under the 7kilos and combined weren’t over 15 kilos. My bag was 14.4 kilos. Same weight being brought on and it’s just semantics and really kinda sexist against men if you think about it. Just sayin..."

Cons: "I paid for for “sports equipment” when I purchased my ticket, however was still made to pay an extra 275$ For my bike upon arrival at the boarding gate. Not happy. I lined up for 1hr 7 minutes before I was able to check in, ridiculous - I just got to the gate as it was boarding and I Arrived 3 hours early for my international flight."

Cons: "We could not check in online and waited over an hour to check in then due to our luggage had to wait in a separate line to pay. We arrived not knowing this is a budget airline and you have to pay for everything. Due to weight restrictions they forced us to check our carryon luggage for $100 AUD per item. They said their website tells you of this fee but 3rd party sites, such as Kayak, does NOT upon booking. We were very frustrated to be paying such a large fee to check our carry on luggage. Kayak should tell you about these hidden fees upon booking as the fees were in the fine print AFTER booking and we simply did not read the fine print. Very disappointed in the lack of communication from Kayak. Entertainment cost an additional $10 and their choices were limited, food and drinks also cost $ on the plane."

Cons: "Booked a ticket with 20kg checked bag; didn't pack as much so took a carry on. The flight was delayed so they decided to weigh carry ons. It came to 10kg plus Laptop bag. They charged me $50 extra. On explaining I have 20kgs included and am happy to go check it in myself. They didn't let me. Not sure why when the flight was delayed by more than 30 min. staff not helpful or considerate. No solution offered to make me happy or to acknowledge that I had already paid for 20kg. I could be talking to a machine and it would've been the same outcome."

Cons: "Everything - they texted me telling me that the flight was delayed, and then I arrived at the gate and told me it left an hour earlier. I have text messages to prove that it was scheduled at 1:30pm, the plane left at 12:35pm and I had already checked in, checking in my suitacase, and the flight left without me and took my suitcase - absolutely ridiculous."

I would have happily paid a little extra to be upgraded away from this passenger to ensure a more comfortable flight."

Cons: "Cost of checked baggage is too high. I also paid for five meals and only received three, and got the fourth only after asking. Could not be bothered fighting over the fifth as there were only four of us travelling and had only accidentally paid for five. After all the costs for add-ons, it's better to pay slightly more for a better carrier."

Cons: "Oh where do I start. I guess check-in at the Sydney airport. Apparently this airline has a very different baggage policy. A policy that is not really readily available for you to see. Customer Service at the counter was horrible including the manager that we talked to. We ended up throwing things in the trash to get our weight down and we were told we changed our baggage weight and lowered our own allowance . How rediculous would that be of us. They even told us we were only allowed 1 carry on which includes our purse and could not be over A certsin weight. For a small carry-on......that is really rediculous. Our luggage cost us $470.00. We had no complimentary food or entertainment for our 8 hour flight. We will NEVER fly this airline again and I hope from reading this review and many others, that you won't either."
