But we all had to make do with our cramped seats. Maybe Qantas can plan this better. It isn’t so difficult as they usually know how many infants are travelling, in advance."

If they cannot maintain a consistent level of standard across all their products let another provider in who can."

Cons: "I am a frequent flyer with QANTAS and a regular customer for many years. Why then do I get the worst seats on the aircraft (last row without reclining). These seats are often assigned to me and they are extremely uncomfortable. I booked a paid fare and did not claim points. My FF preferred seats are mid-plane, aisle. The screen had very poor contrast and it was like watching through cloth. To make it worse the entertainment system had very poor sound with long periods of frozen frames and staccato sound making it difficult to follow the plot. My wife's system (also FF) was the same. Not happy with the "special welcome" given to FF passengers!"

Then we taxied to the takeoff point and were then informed that there was a light showing in the cockpit and so we taxied back to the departure point, waited while the light was presumably repaired then eventually departed 90 minutes late arriving in Perth 100 minutes later than scheduled. Thus we would have missed our evening meal if we had travelled back to our home and instead had to obtain a meal elsewhere."

Cons: "The only vegetarian food option contained gelatine, and when I asked for something different, I was told that they 'don't do that'. However, when a couple asked for something different for religious reasons, they were given another meal. I have been a vegetarian for 16 years, but apparently ethics means nothing when compared to religion. Staff were not sympathetic at all, and we went without a meal, after paying a lot of money for the flight, and checking in advance that there would be vegetarian food. Gelatine is not vegetarian."

It's not hard to have meals without wheat, yet there's never a gluten free option even when there are non-Pasta based dishes such as curries and stir-fries. Gluten intolerance is so common these days so it's unbelievable that Virgin doesn't try to ensure at least one of the dishes doesn't have wheat/gluten. A 5 hour trip to/from Perth to Brisbane is a very long time to have no savoury meals. I never thought I'd say this, being a loyal Virgin flyer; Qantas is looking more appealing as they cater for GF meals Alim domestic flight and have started to improve their customer service."

Equally loud mothers baby-talked continuously to their offending offspring with no effect. Cabin staff made no attempt to control the noise levels. I recognize some of these small children could have been suffering ear pain from the cabin pressure changes but trained cabin staff could have offered remedies for this. It does not explain the continuous screaming at cruising altitude. I recognize that JETSTAR is an intentionally cheap and nasty airline. I reluctantly took this flight because there was no quality service (like QANTAS) at the time I required. I accept the lack of amenities offered by REAL airlines like complimentary food, drink, entertainment and healthy legroom are the cost of cheap travel but I would have happily paid a higher price for QANTAS had there been a flight. I will not fly JETSTAR again and if no alternative exists with QANTAS, I will choose another airline in spite of my long allegiance to QANTAS CC: QANTAS"

Flight cancelled by carrier no viable options offered by phone representative held on the telephone for over an hour whilst travelling to airport in an attempt to get a flight home. Holiday cut short, had to return rental car 1/2 day earlier than what had been paid for, lunch reservations had to be cancelled and no responsibility accepted by Jetstar representative. Well they have definitely lost me as a customer, none of the companies I own would treat a customer in such a manner we believe that we NEED customers to stay in business. Then to top it all off had a hour and a half travel time from Bne as opposed to half an hour from Coolangatta."

The chat was clunky and not compatable with mobile phone. Then they couldn't refund the extra fees I had paid for assigned seats - that is a "different chat site" though I was reassigned a Quantas ticket and given tickets that had us split up on that flight. They couldn't give me a booking number or anything like that for the Quantas flight either. I will just save the hassle and fly with Quantas next time. Unimpressed with JetStar and their customer service was terrible. Still out the refund money and frankly it is worth it not to have to deal with them again."

Eventually they charged me $160, which is still day light robbery. Had it been more clear when booking my flight that the luggage would be so expensive I would have paid extra to check in my suitcase, I don't even recall that being an option. Please advise."

When we checked in for a domestic flight, we were told that we would have to pay $400 to send our luggage with us. THAT WAS MORE THAN WE PAID FOR OUR SEATS! We were also told that had we paid for our luggage ahead of time, it would have only been $60. Be very careful if you fly this airline. Make sure you know what is and what is not included with your ticket, especially if you use a third party to purchase your tickets. PS - All drinks (including coffee, tea, soda, etc.)are extra. Frankly, I'm surprised they don't charge for using the toilet in flight"

Cons: "Awful customer service and ridiculous baggage costs. We were traveling internationally and didn't have internet access at the time. We didn't realize we needed to "pre-check" our bags. It cost us double the amount of our flight cost to check our bags. They also carefully checked carry on weight at the ticket counter but then never tagged the bags and we had to have them reweighed at the gate. They also were ridiculously strict on carryon weight per bag. Don't get their policy when my husband and I weigh a total of 300 pds together and they can't be flexible on 1kg of carry-on weight. They also said they took American express cards (which does not charge us an exchange fee) and their machines wouldn't accept it, so I was charged an extra 3% via my credit card. Staff were surly and not helpful. Will never use Jetstar again"
