As my children were all spread over the plane, and two son's look very similar, a hostess almost did not serve one of my son's a meal as she believed my son had already received a meal further forward in the plane. Thankfully, upon checking, the hostess realised that it was a case of mistaken identity."

I came from the US to Australia and traveled domestically while there with all the luggage that I brought from the US. So I had to pay so much in fees when my trip was already so expensive! It makes me reconsider wanting to travel again anywhere anytime soon, so discouraging! Also they make me take stuff out of my big suitcase and transfer to my carry on, in front of everyone at the ticket counter I had to open my suitcase and transfer some stuff so the weight is under a certain weight. Still they charged me for extra luggage. I came international on Qantas from USA to Australia, so all the domestic locations I went to I was charged"

After 45mins and no mum, I asked staff where she was. They said they were waiting for me at the gate as they didn't have enough staff to bring her, and I couldn't take her walker through security, so I had to go there and pick her up (passing 4 staff members with golf carts just sitting and waiting). luckily she wasn't distressed, but when I got to her, the man at the desk was then told over the radio tthat he could bring her down... poorly organised. Not the end of the world, because she was okay, but it could have been really upsetting for her otherwise."

I recognize some of these small children could have been suffering ear pain from the cabin pressure changes but trained cabin staff could have offered remedies for this. It does not explain the continuous screaming at cruising altitude. I recognize that JETSTAR is an intentionally cheap and nasty airline. I reluctantly took this flight because there was no quality service (like QANTAS) at the time I required. I accept the lack of amenities offered by REAL airlines like complimentary food, drink, entertainment and healthy legroom are the cost of cheap travel but I would have happily paid a higher price for QANTAS had there been a flight. I will not fly JETSTAR again and if no alternative exists with QANTAS, I will choose another airline in spite of my long allegiance to QANTAS CC: QANTAS"

Cons: "When I looked up the flight option through your site I selected one checked bag per person and it showed the price and I decided to purchase. Then when I tried to check in at Jetstar online it showed I had no checked bags WHY?! then I complained about it in an online chat and the chat agent would not agree and said I had to pay for checked bags if I had any and said he/she could do that and asked how much the bags weighed. Since I did not know and could not answer how much the weighed I decided to check them online myself since it gave me options for weight/price I knew our bags would be under - the chat ended and I proceeded to try to pay for one bag each online. However, after more than a half dozen attempts which were all rejected I had to close the online check in and leave as we were running short on time to get things done and get to the airport. At the airport I told all this to the agent at bag check and she would do noting but charged me about $240 for the two bags - grossly more than the $28 for one and $38 for the other that I was trying to pay online & roughly as much as the cost of the flights! Will you please let me know what can be done to get my money back as this is just not right?"

Holiday cut short, had to return rental car 1/2 day earlier than what had been paid for, lunch reservations had to be cancelled and no responsibility accepted by Jetstar representative. Well they have definitely lost me as a customer, none of the companies I own would treat a customer in such a manner we believe that we NEED customers to stay in business. Then to top it all off had a hour and a half travel time from Bne as opposed to half an hour from Coolangatta."

The chat was clunky and not compatable with mobile phone. Then they couldn't refund the extra fees I had paid for assigned seats - that is a "different chat site" though I was reassigned a Quantas ticket and given tickets that had us split up on that flight. They couldn't give me a booking number or anything like that for the Quantas flight either. I will just save the hassle and fly with Quantas next time. Unimpressed with JetStar and their customer service was terrible. Still out the refund money and frankly it is worth it not to have to deal with them again."

Cons: "Upon boarding a flight from Sydney to Avalon I was told my duffel bag was too large to carry on the plane even though I had been allowed to fly a few days prior with the same bag. I even placed my bag in the sizer at the gate but she still told me it was too large and "too heavy" although she did not weigh nor pick up my bag. About 5 minutes prior I had seen her walk a guitar that had been gate checked down to the plane. My bag was not so lucky. I arrived at Avalon and my bag didn't. My bag was going to arrive on the next plane which wasn't coming in for 3 hours. We were staying about an hour from the airport and boarding an early morning flight from Tullamarine to Los Angeles. Deliveries of missed luggage ceased 2 hours before my bag was due at the airport and didn't commence until after I was due at Tullamarine the next morning. The flight attendant who made me check my bag was on my flight and easily could have told me my bag wouldn't be making it on our flight but she didn't. She was rude, smug, and unaccomodating. The customer service representative at Avalon, Debbie, was more than helpful trying to figure out the best option for me to retrieve my luggage before my flight home to Los Angeles. She made a stressful situation a little less so. Thank you Debbie!"
