Pros:

While most rental car agencies in Albuquerque had no cars available, this site did. The staff at the pickup location were acceptable in handling renting a car with some concerns; at drop off they were very courteous.

Cons:

full tank of gas, windshield without damage, tire warning indicator not giving a false warning

Staff at the correct office were great, competent, courteous and helpful.

Cons:

Car rented in conjunction with travel. Assumption was that it was airport office of Enterprise where car would be acquired. It wasn’t. Had to Uber to city to get car.

I confused rental site. Instead of airport I accidentally chose downtown. Downtown did not let me have the full size sedan I wanted due to lack of supply at the airport and authorized only a mid sized van which I accepted with disappointment.

This location is a train wreck. Terrible customer service. The Avis agent was watching a football game on his phone, paying more attention to that rather than getting our rental app verified. NEVER AGAIN WITH AVIS AND LIKELY NOT EVEN KAYAK.

We didn't know this Avis office was located a long ways from the Albuquerque airport. We assumed it was located at the Avis rental car location where a shuttle takes you to the various agencies. WRONG!! We went to the Avis counter and found out this rental car location was located 20 miles away. By this time when we called the Avis location on 9501 Coors Blvd NW in Albuquerque, it was after 12 pm and the manager said the office closed at noon! WTF, my reservation was for noon and that is when they close!! I admit it was after 12 pm, but the manager said they would not stay open even if I left right away by taxi. They opened the next day at 8 am, but we couldn't wait until the next day so we cancelled. We never got any information for this Avis rental location that it was located a long ways from the airport and that we had to hire a taxi to get there and by the way, you had to be there by noon or they close shop for the day. They close at noon on Saturday and Sunday. They need to give the prospective renter this information. We would never have reserved with this remotely located location if we had this information. How is someone going to Albuquerque for the first time supposed to know all these pitfalls? Avis corporate needs to demand this small Avis dealer to shape up or lose their affiliation.

Van was dirty, old milk candy stuck in cup holder..Side step broken. Heat and air controls kept falling out. Could have been priced better and the inside should have more cup holders and things to hand on to when getting out since the side step was broken

I searched to pickup with ABQ airport. Apparently, the site placed me somewhere else. The airport location found my reservation at a different location and said it was already canceled. So they could help me, but not at the rate I reserved. I had to pay an additional $40 per day or about $200 total. So Kayak or priceline did not help me at all.

Supplier choice

They would not call me back to confirm my reservation. I had called over a 2 day period; the day before my rental and the day of my rental. Another Hertz associate took my 3pm call to let me know they didn't have any availability and the associate I had been speaking with would be back in 10 minutes. She at least tried to help but the vehicle she found was not big enough. Luckily, Budget had a van I could rent and pick up at 4pm. I've been a loyal Hertz customer for years but this experience has ended Hertz receiving my hard earned money.

It took me over 1.5 hours to get my rental after arriving at the Hertz location, which had one employee who couldn't be found. He was the only one working there and left the office to detail/clean cars. There was a customer waiting there for a half hour before I got there and I had to go looking around the property for the employee who wasn't pleasant at all. I suggested that he leave a sign when leaving the office so customers know he's away. I missed an event as a result.

I expected the pickup to be at the airport, it was not. Also they were to be available at 8 am for the drop off, and the door was locked. I had an uber waiting.
