Excellent 9.0
Pros: - the staffs hospitality and helpfulness - the attached shop can provide your everyday groceries at a fair price (compared to shoppers for example) - pool directly at the property - it’s a queen size bed (optimal for people taller then 1,80)
Cons: - It could use some renovations (broken tiles in the pool and room) and an overall makeover to keep the high standard up
Excellent 9.0
Pros: clean and convenient. public transportation available close by.
Cons: noise on the road outside the hotel
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The room, pool and staff
Cons: Being charged $10 for a cheese burger which was lacking a beef pattie, but this was sorted out at reception the next day
Excellent 10.0
Pros: All the staff in the reception area greeted us with a warm welcome and big smile. The best part is that they have upgraded us into a bigger room! The breakfast is good and have varieties of food to choose from. The rooms are clean too! Overall, the hotel & all the staff exceeded my expectation! Asante sana!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I liked the treatment of the staff from the beginning, the facilities are clean, it has customer water and a very comfortable bed. value for money, very good.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything about the hotel was great especially for the price! The staff was so friendly and accommodating, wonderful food. I had the laundry service done after my Safari and it was done so quickly !
Excellent 9.0
Pros: It was clean, the food was nice - especially the breakfast, the staff was friendly and supportive. The manager is doing a perfect job, running the place and having an eye on the guests and all kinds of details, so that we enjoyed our stay a lot. The pool was a bit cold but my son still enjoyed it a lot!
Cons: We didn’t find much within walking distance but we also didn’t ask the staff, so maybe we just didn’t know where to go.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The property was in a great location with a bank and stores right outside the hotel. The free breakfast had numerous options and the restaurant food was great.
Cons: The property didn’t have an airport shuttle.
Good 6.0
Food in the restaurant was not tasty The air conditioner is only cold in the winter we called the service for tv and air conditioning problems 3 times no one came
Excellent 9.2
Good location just outside the arusha city centre. Secured entry gate to car park and hotel building. Spacious and clean 3 beds room with AC and fan. WiFi was good. Room rate included breakfast. The hotel restaurant has various menu options, so you do not need to go out of hotel for dinner if you only stay overnight before or after your safari. We had dinner there. We ordered fish, chicken and vegetarian menu options, which all are delicious. Staffs were friendly and helpful. They offered us late check out to 12 noon. The hotel has swimming pool.
Good 7.1
Pros: Big room. Host staff in the parking is very helpful. Good security.
Cons: AC was not so powerful. The pool is situated near the reception and stairs for rooms, so not so calm and quiet. Food at restaurant and breakfast not so great. WiFi was only working in the living room attached. We had the promotion of a executive suite for the price of a regular room! But just for one night. We were unable to add a night to stay longer in the same room. For the second night, they offered us a small room with no AC. At the same price... So we left.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: - cleanliness, rooms are spotless and very comfortable - food is really esoecially the indian dishes - service is guest-centered/friendly: very reactive and caring staff
Excellent 9.2
buffet breakfast really good. On some days however buffet is not available. Still ok, but if you're a breakfast person, you'll miss the buffet. Unheated pool there only for "decoration". Everything really clean 👍👍⭐️
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing staff, beautiful property and lots of nice honeymoon perks.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very kind staff, big and comfortable rooms
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The place is not crowded and it is very private. Small size pool good for a retreat
Cons: I had no dislikes
Good 6.0
Pros: Too much overpriced
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good location, big and comfortable room. Great restaurant except breakfast
Cons: Breakfast are from the menu, just a few options and meals are small. Some misunderstandings with the waiters were also noticed.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Quiet, very spacious, professional and friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing that I didn’t like per se. Everything was fine.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The rooms are exactly how they look online and the service is exceptional. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had an excellent time.
Cons: The breakfast could be better, as in more options could be added.
Good 7.6
The African Tulip is a cute lodge in Arusha. It's a good spot to spend a night or two. The food in the restaurant is pretty good and the bar is full service. It's not super fancy but it is clean and comfortable. You can also walk to the Masai Market for souvenir shopping.
Excellent 10.0
The inn was so cozy and neighborly that we were barely in town. The African Tulip is an desert garden near to the center of Arusha, which may be a strolling separate to the Clock tower. The rooms are very roomy, clean and pleasantly enhanced within the African-Indian fashion. As well as the other premises like eatery, bars, pool and hall of the inn. Since we had the return flight at night, the supervisor, who was exceptionally neighborly and obliging, permitted us to utilize the room until the evening without charging us additional charges. He was continuously show and by and by cared for the well-being of the visitors. All in all a extraordinary lodging. We had a unwinding and alleviating remain in an insinuate air.
Excellent 10.0
We remained here since it was chosen by the safari company. Everybody went out of their way to guarantee we delighted in our remain. Each room is one of a kind and highlights neighborhood craftsmanship centered on the locale. The nourishment was exceptionally great. The pool range was the little but pleasant vibe. It was a fun beginning to our Tanzania safari.
Excellent 10.0
From the beginning the staff were inviting and inviting and made our remain uncommon. The room we had was clean and comfortable. We were given water each day and the room cleaned perfectly. We ate each day within the eatery. Breakfast was a buffet and had a awesome choice of cooked nourishment, yogurts, natural product, juices and extraordinary coffee. Supper was a la carte or buffet you'll select. I had both and delighted in all the nourishment I had. The feasting room and bar are dazzling places to eat and drink. We were very late arriving and we still overseen to have a nibble and a drink served by the beautiful staff. When we wrapped up the safari we delighted in some days unwinding by the pool and at the beautiful open air bar. The pool range is well kept and exceptionally alluring. What makes this lodging additional special is the friendliness and support of the staff. They are all so beautiful and we developed to cherish them all. I would exceedingly recommend this hotel.
Excellent 10.0
We stayed at the African Tulip for two evenings as part of our Safari visit. From the time we got there almost mid-afternoon until we cleared out, we were exceptionally satisfied with the Tulip. The staff may not have been any more supportive or inviting. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The air conditioning made for a extraordinary night's rest and pleasant relaxing. The washroom was well laid out and ample. Given the opportunity to return to northern Tanzania we certainly would remain at the African Tulip especially in case going on safari with Roy Safari
Excellent 10.0
Stayed only one night in this classy Hotel at the end of our excellent Safari. Visually it is very African in design and it is obvious the design team have gone to great lengths to 'get it right'. From the Foyer thru the Restaurant and Bar to the outside Pool/Bar area & throughout the stairwells, corridors and into the rooms it is a visually stunning place. We hadn't expected a place of such quality in Arusha and were delighted with the comfortable room to chill out in before our flight to Zanzibar the next day. Apparently all rooms here are different in theme and layout. The food from the Restaurant was superb we had huge rare fillet steaks for dinner and they were perfect. All staff were very friendly and obliging.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everyone was happy and wanted to help us in anyway they could . We were vegetated with juice and hot towels when we arrived which was an amazing personal touch.
Cons: Nothing was wrong
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great stay, super-friendly staff, amazing food, beautiful lodge, loved the small cabins!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Arusha Planet Lodge was the perfect place to stay before and after our safari! The staff was extremely friendly and even taught us a little Swahili (Bernard was great!). The food was a great value for the money and they arranged for our airport transfers very easily. It is located outside of downtown Arusha and it feels like you're surrounded by nature.
Cons: The bed was not very comfortable (but it was big) and there were no good tv channels.
Good 7.9
Pros: Very clean, good staff and spacious room and bed. Swimming pool was very nice
Cons: Staff forget to call a taxi when we left (day before arranged) with the result that we missed our bus and came 2,5 hours late to our appointment in Moshi. Taxi rates are a bit higher dat arranging one on your own
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We arrived at 5am to be greeted by friendly faces and from that moment on it was wonderfully relaxing. The staff were quietly efficient and always attentive. They were very knowledgable. Particular mention of Ivy, Irene, sSteven and Bernard who were always there with a smile and willing to help. Overall a fantastic place stay and will be telling all our friends. Thank you so much!!
Cons: It was all great.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Pleasant landscaping, fantastic rainhead+ traditional shower, every staff member very personable and even consistently greeted us by name, even though we were only staying one night. Also, the $16 dinner was delicious and a great value. Breakfast was also exceptional.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Good sized rooms/bungalows with decent showers and aircon, lovely staff, and great food at both breakfast and dinner. Pool nice and clean (though a touch chilly in the cool season!) and cold beer and snacks available from the poolside bar.
Cons: It’s on the edge of town so a bit far from anywhere else in Arusha but fine for one or two nights. Transfers from Kilimanjaro ($80) and Arusha airport ($40) are quite expensive.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Karama Lodge is a beautiful place to stay! The stilted "yurt-like" villas have beautiful views of Arusha and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. The staff was the best part though!
Cons: The dirt road to the lodge is very steep and bumpy, but once you arrive through the gates, it is luxurious. You can't easily access the town on your own, but the staff can arrange transport.
Good 6.0
Pros: The landscapes and view are breathtaking. It feels like living in the rainforest with monkeys visiting our balcony. The staff are friendly and the service was good. Room service was impeccable (the lady who made the room was extremely nice).
Cons: It is clearly overpriced. WiFi didn't work in our lodge and I had to ask for an access point which only worked for 24 hours and they took it away. I wouldn't have stayed for 5 nights if I knew the price of food at the restaurant and the state of the road leading to and around the lodge. Making it very hard to go for any other option. Bathrooms are small and the smell from the focet was hard to get rid if . Not as comfortable as one would expect at this price. Noise from the village nearby makes it very hard to sleep unless you're really tired.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very nice and quiet location at the outskirts of Arusha. The view on Mount Meru from the beautiful pool is fantastic. The rooms are absolutely great, fabulous view from the balcony. You can get driven and picked up in Arusha centre by a driver from the lodge which was a great service.
Cons: Be prepared to have a cold shower when it is cloudy in the "winter" months (Jun/Jul), was the water is heated with a solar system (but actually this is a noice ecological feature of the lodge).
Good 6.0
Pros: It's a beautiful place, big room and i really liked the balcony.
Cons: There was no hot water in the evening
Excellent 9.0
Pros: -the location -the room was beautiful and also clean -breakfast was good -staff was nice and helpful
Cons: -the pressure for hot water was very little and it just cut afterwards
Good 7.0
Pros: Great balcony, private rooms, lovely gardens, monkeys came to visit! Felt a long way from the city but so close to town.
Cons: Perhaps a more expansive menu
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I loved that location. It is on the side of a mountain and is just so beautiful. The staff is so friendly.
Cons: Wish there were more options for breakfast.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff was extremely slow and unresponsive. Property was great, however, the restaurant was terrible and we had to wait 2 hours for our food.
Cons: Beautiful view

Mediocre 2.0
Pros: Garden and swimming pool
Cons: Shower - water all over the place Bed extremely uncomfortable on Check out, room rate was higher the rate booked
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The hotel and the location are great the staff are very nice and professional I would surly come back again.
Cons: the only problem I had was with the breakfast "buffet" for some reason on the second morning I was there there wasn't any food out only omelets and if you wanted something like bacon, sausages, potatoes etc etc you had to ask from the kitchen. That is very weird and I've never encounter that in any other hotel I've ever been in if it's a buffet you should have all the food out for the people to choose, also you can have more options for the people who doesn't eat meat in the morning because most of the .choices were meat
Excellent 8.0
Pros: for the people who is starting / finishing safari trip i think its the best place to stay , its in the middle of arusha city , its not that pricy and very clean and big hotel . nice pool and nice breakfast .
Cons: nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing location, amazing staff and perfect service otherwise.
Cons: My booking mentioned executive room what i got looked like a standard room with a single bed.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything about Mount Meru is great!
Cons: -
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I liked the facility as whole and it is really a memorable place
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel welcome. Spacious room overlooking Mt. Meru. Well appointed room and good sized bathroom. Very accommodating housekeeping, especially considering that many of their guests come off of either Mt. Kilimanjaroo or Mt. Meru and are in need of showers and clean, dry clothes. Want to mention the buffet restaurant and outdoor, terrace bar. Both had wonderful, friendly staff with really good food at the restaurant and an awesome view at the bar. Plus the free WiFi was very nice. Near perfect hotel in a fairly out-of-the-way location.
Excellent 10.0
The hotel is quite new and offers a wonderful view of Mount Meru. Do ask them for a mountain facing room. After a 12 hour flight, we were thrilled to find a luxurious room with all modern amenities. The only peculiar thing is that the wall facing the toilet seat is made of glass and there are no blinds to cover it. So this can get a bit uncomfortable for those who want to enjoying their privacy on the pot. We tried the Italian restaurant by the poolside and it was pretty decent. The hotel has a lovely lawn and you could ask them to serve you the breakfast in one of the little garden areas near the pool. We really wanted to do that but did not have time in the morning because we had to leave for our safari. The decor is really tasteful and everything was squeaky clean. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and good value for money. Would definitely recommend it.

Good 7.0
Pros: Immanuel on reception was awesome and very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Good bathroom and hot shower. Nothing mind blowing but a comfortable place to chill for a day post-safari
Cons: A bit far from town and quite a long bumpy alley way to get to the location (although on the flip side this means it is nice and quiet)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was incredible and very accommodating.
Excellent 8.3
A little out of the way and very quiet. Great bar which was unused when I was there. Food was good but restaurant was very quiet and was not told I had to order two hours in advance. Lovely place but room a little small and dark.
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Attentive, helpful and friendly staff along with a quiet location. Zawadi house served made-to-order meals with fresh local ingredients and even prepared a "go box" for me to take on an early morning flight.
Cons: Food was very good, but could have used a bit more variety. Not a complaint, per se, just a suggestion to make an already wonderful hotel experience a little bit better.

Excellent 10.0
its one of the best hotel in Arusha
Good 7.5
Pros: Hospitality and location
Cons: Services and their washroom .
Okay 5.8
Pros: The workers were very nice
Cons: It was too expensive forcthe facilities It had. Old towels, very low water pressure made really hard to have a shower
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast simple, but well prepared and fresh. Decent coffee. Good location for the start of our self-drive safari experience
Cons: nothing
Excellent 9.1
Pros: The staff were fantastic. They really went above and beyond to help us out. Thomas, the owner/manager gave excellent help in finding us a bus to go to Moshi for the night for really cheap. The rooms were big enough for our luggage to not get in our way. There were locking cabinets to store any valuables while you are away from the hotel. ***This is not a + or -, just something else: there are a lot of farm fowl around (throughout Tanzania) so you may want to bring earplugs if you do not want to be woken up as early as 2:30am by a possibly confused/definitely overzealous rooster.
Cons: The wait time for food at the restaurant was a bit long.
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Very clean with outstanding, friendly staff and nice amenities. Very affordable and a great value compared to similar hotels in the area.
Cons: No toilet paper :( No shampoo in the shower. Wifi did not work.

Okay 4.0
Pros: it is close to town, thats all
Cons: the rooms do not match what is advertised, they are small, the sheets are old the bathrooms are cramped! no value for money at all!!!
Okay 4.0
Pros: Close to the bus station (though it was very noisy)
Cons: It wasn’t clean. Not all staff was able to communicate in English. One staff gave us bad advice about transportation.
Good 7.0
Pros: Good value for money. Tasty breakfast.
Cons: We were waiting one hour for a dinner although that we were the only one in restaurant. Even a 20minutes power cut does not justify it.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Location is great. View from the balcony was nice. Comfortable bed. Decent breakfast.
Cons: Bathroom was very small. TV didnt work.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: For the price, this is very decent. The bed is comfortable, the room is good witha balcony and a view over the city, this is clean and the hotel is located in the city center
Cons: For 1 (or 2) night and considering the price I would not highlight anything negative
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast was great, especially the extended hours — what a treat to have hot milk with our coffee. Also the staff worked hard to make us comfortable in spite of conditions that were out of their control — Mona Lisa in particular was very warm and accommodating and made it easy to ask for things. We also really liked the neighborhood—we have been traveling in Tanzania for nearly three months now and are relatively comfortable with local culture, and we enjoyed being so close to a terrific local restaurant (it’s right across Livingston street, on the corner) and an easy walk to Krokoni Market, not to mention everything else around.
Cons: We had a little trouble with the various facilities and amenities that we had sought via the reservation, although this seemed to be a Booking.com communication problem more than anything, and the staff dealt with the discrepancy by upgrading our room at no charge.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I liked the privacy and the comfort..
Cons: The soap used in the bathroom
Excellent 10.0

Good 7.0
Pros: Staff were very friendly. Location of hotel was very convenient.
Cons: I think rooms should be cleaned everyday. Power cuts, generator gives access to only light and fan. Can't charge any rechargeable device.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The location was great, in the heart of the city center. It’s perfect for that one or two night layover. Staff was friendly and helpful. Value was amazing!!
Cons: At no fault to the property, apparently the country turned off the internet due to the election, I was hoping to post pictures and social media updated during my stay, but couldn’t.
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: Breakfast was great. Low cost budget hotel with just the basics.
Cons: Bed was very hard and bathroom very old feeling. No attention to detail.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was fair and hotel location is good for new visitors and all receptionist where so helpful, I recommend any visitor to stay there, Good place to stay and very quite.
Cons: non
Excellent 9.2
Pros: I had stayed in this location many years back, and was impressed to see how they have upgraded. The staff were very helpful
Cons: The TV reception could have been better
Okay 4.6
Pros: Not much, apart from being in the centre of Arusha. The hotel had no real benefit. There are much nicer, better priced and well rated hotels on booking.com as well. I would avoid it as much as possible.
Cons: First they overcharged me! There is a credit card fee if you pay by card! Shady operation of money exchange, beaware donot change money here the guy rips you off, no receipt given! They let all the vendors come in an harres you with their products in the "lobby". Unsafe feeling, breakfasf is simple with no drinking water to be offered.

Cons: That they didn't respect our booking - they put us in the last cabin and not what we paid for. Additionally, they only take cash to avoid paying local taxes - it is a bit of hoax
