Excellent 10.0
Pros: Extremely grand and comfortable palatial hotel in the center of Luxor. Staff could not have bern more attentive and the service was impeccable. The Terrace setting delivers with a marvelous view of the sunset.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: As expected, a lovely royal stay.
Cons: Nothing
Good 7.2
The location and hotel in the old building was beautiful The astronomical cost of cocktails and food definitely put me off. We had friends staying in the newer building and I would not recommend staying there for the nightly price
Excellent 9.0
Pros: 1. Wonderful old hotel in outstanding position overlooking the Nile 2. Staff were excellent 3. We had a lovely room in the old part of the hotel. Highly recommended 4. Nice pool area that was never crowded
Cons: 1. The food needs significant improvement. Why can’t Accor bring chefs from their other hotels to show them what guests expect from a 5 star hotel? The food cannot be recommended (we are at both restaurants and the terrace).
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: location, pool and bedrooms
Cons: the food and service was dreadful. I don’t think anyone ever came and took a drinks order at the pool. restaurants are very poor. staff friendly but pretty useless overall. very disappointed
Excellent 10.0
This place is stunning. Old world charm with modern convenience . Great ambiance and views. Excellent breakfast out on the patio. Very friendly and helpful. When we visit Aswan again , we will only stay here.
Excellent 10.0
We've spent the last two days of our trip in Aswan, the old cataract is the most beautiful place we have stayed so during our stay in Egypt.
Excellent 8.2

Good 7.0
Pros: Nice rooms, great views.
Cons: Cold water in the shower, very bad Wi-Fi signal, overpriced and average quality restaurant (a glass of wine would cost you like as full meal in town). Not really a 5*.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location. Cleanless and staff is friendly and helpful..especially Ms Taysser, the PR who helped us a lot to get information about Aswan ..she was very friendly and professional!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The location is perfect . The shuttle boat is also a great tool to use every 10mins.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Evertything was perfect. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Beer sold by the swimming pool bar could be a bit colder.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Breathtaking view Very helpful Stuff
Cons: The pillows on the room are uncomfortable
Excellent 9.0
Pros: view
Cons: WI-FI was very slow
Excellent 10.0
I stayed three nights the Mövenpick Resort which is accessible via regular boat service from the east bank of the Nile. The hotel was beautiful, room was clean and comfortable and all the staff were very efficient and friendly. Special mention has to go to Emad and Wail in the lounge bar for their excellent customer service and attention to detail. They really went the extra mile to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Recommended!
Good 6.5
Pros: Staff was very helpful! Relaxing atmosphere
Cons: hotel is not in good shape taking a ferry to get to the hotel not convenient if you're just staying for a night to go to Abu Simbel food was expensive and poor

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Abdul has a gem on the west side of the Nile in Aswan. From the start, he helped arrange a driver to pick us up from the airport at night (sure glad we booked that!) and the service and friendly hospitality just grew from there. He helped us book a camel ride and a trip to Abu Simbel. He made us the most delicious breakfast on the rooftop each morning (the best food we had in Egypt... probably because we could tell it was made with love). He brought us to town on his boat and even helped us get to a local restaurant (helped us order and invited us for coffee afterwards). It was our honeymoon and he arranged a special "treat" for us on our last night... live musicians and dinner on the roof. I will truly cherish our time with Abdul and would highly recommend this place. A hidden gem, a unique opportunity to stay in a Nubian Village, and a kind soul.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Localisation but most of all, great atmosphere from the owner
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Abdel was a delight. Very hospitable and friendly. Exceptionally clean. Wonderful views from the terrace.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Best food we've had in Egypt. Their food is much better than in those expensive restaurants in Aswan. We enjoyed watching sunset and sunrise from the rooftop looking at the desert and the Nile. Sparkling clean. Mr. Abdel is knowledgable and took good care of us. When I go
Cons: None
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very cozy, staff really friendly
Excellent 8.0
Pros: We had a great stay at Bet El Kerem guesthouse. The house itself is an old Egyptian family house with a beautiful garden and sparkling clean common areas. Great rooftop with dining area and Nile view. The breakfast cooked on site every day is delicious, especially shakshuka and taameya (Egyptian falafel). Location is very convenient 5 minutes walk from the arrival of the West Bank ferry. The guesthouse also houses a travel agency which organises activities in and around Aswan (camel safari, trip to Abu Simbel, felucca ride to Kom Ombo) with excellent service providers and at prices much lower than the ones proposed on cruise ships for example. The owner Abdel is very helpful and takes care of every detail along the way. Definitely a very good pick for a 4-5 days stay in Aswan, the wonderful capital of Nubia
Cons: The only negative point was the shortage of hot water in the bathrooms' hotel, which is hard during Egyptian winter! This should be fixed soon but better to check status with the owner before arriving.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I loved everything. The guest house is on the West Bank which means you're isolated from the busy city and the noise. But it's also 2 mins from the local ferry which means you can reach the city in less than 10 mins for 2 pounds without any hassle unlike gharb soheil island. It's the perfect balance between calm and accessibility. The guest house is very clean and the breakfast is very good. We also had lunch twice there and it was excellent. Abu Karim, the owner, makes amazing food, is very generous with the quantities and constantly checks if we're happy and if we want anything. The roof is very cute, it's where you have breakfast/lunch and you can just chill there. They have tea and coffee available all the time, mineral water, and an assortment of fruits, all of which are free of charge. The staff is super nice and helpful. I enjoyed my stay a lot, and I'll definitely be going back there.
Cons: The bathroom in our room doesn't have walls, it's in the corner of the room with curtains around it. This made it a bit uncomfortable for us to use the toilet because it's awkward when other people are in the room and also you worry about the smell. However, there are several bathrooms outside the rooms so it compensates for the room's bathroom and it didn't affect our stay at all. Using the shower in the room was good, I didn't need to use the one outside.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location over looking the tombs of the nobles which is well worth a visit. The colors are incredible. All the staff were very helpful. The food was the best we’d had in Egypt. I’m glad we chose to have dinner here. We highly recommend this place and would love to stay here again! Wish we had booked more than 1 night.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The silence
Excellent 9.6
Pros: This the perfect place to stay for anyone who likes to have a more personal and local experience. We liked the fact that it was a home from home with fruit, chilled water, teas and coffee to help ourselves to at any time. The house was decorated in the Nubian style, painted a bright blue with bright fabrics and soft furnishings. Its slight imperfections were its charm. The roof terrace was laid out for dining and relaxing and was cool and quiet. The garden was likewise a quiet and shady place to sit or walk round. Our host, Abdul couldnt have been more welcoming or taken more trouble to ensure our stay was enjoyable. He even did our washing and arranged for ironing. He is a great cook and serves a fresh buffet and meal in the evenings and willingly prepared vegetarian food for us. He also arranged a good driver for a return trip to Abu Simbel which was a fantastic day out (including a large packed breakfast). We really enjoyed getting the ferry to the East Bank which was quick and runs constantly.
Cons: There is nothing we didnt like
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Abdel and his staff make the enjoyment of your stay their top priority. Everyone is kind, attentive and generous. The food was delicious, the beds were clean and comfortable and whatever you may want to do for the day is at your fingertips. Bet el Kerem has been the highlight of our time in Egypt so far.

Good 7.0
Pros: Good location in the middle of town, right on the bank of the Nile. The swimming pool area is very nice and overlooks the river. There are several pleasant areas overlooking the water to enjoy food and drink.
Cons: Internet only available in the lobby. Very tired, dated property. Much basic upkeep needed.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Beautiful pool overlooking the Nile. Helpful staff. Restaurant and gift shops on premesis, right across the local market
Cons: Traffic very loud
Excellent 9.0
Pros: beautiful location and central. good food and very well priced. great pool area
Cons: I think we go unlucky but our aircon leaked very badly and we woke up to a half flooded bedroom.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The location is amazing right on the Nile. Pool area was great with view of Nile and comfortable beds to lie on. We had a great stay!
Cons: When we 1st checked in the room was very dirty, we complained and they upgraded our room. Hair dryer did not work properly.
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: Good location and nice pool
Cons: The room was not clean, there were bugs and lizards within the room. During the night there was a storm which the hotel was not equipped for, the roof leaked onto our bags and the floor flooded from the door and the roof. The power went out at around 11pm and had not returned by the time we had left. The main reception had leaked as well - no comments were made at all by staff when this was mentioned to them in the morning.
Okay 5.8
Pros: The location was perfect, breakfast not bad, good view
Cons: It wasn't very clean, many mosquitoes, no wifi in rooms, the smell wasn't good in rooms.too much noise in early morning. Rooms are small
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel is situated right on the Nile and my room had a window overlooking it which was fantastic. It is in the center of town so convenient to take boat rides, get to the train station, etc. The pool was perfect and the restaurant has a patio overlooking the Nile as well. The staff went above and beyond to provide me with information and services I needed. They arranged tickets for the train, checked the schedules and even had them brought to the hotel, without me requesting this. They were all polite, friendly, personable and service oriented. I couldn't have asked for more!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great hotel, with amazing views over the nile river. The staff went over and beyond as it was our honeymoon- our room was completely decorated and looked amazing. The restaurant was also very good and we very much enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay there again.
Cons: nothing
Excellent 10.0
I really enjoyed staying in this great hotel the staff ,food ,service and attitude was an excellent I do recommend this hotel
Excellent 10.0
Perfect beach. I did a lot of snorkeling. Food its ok. :)
Mediocre 2.0
Cons: The hotel was closed Permanently the day we were there to check in. They directed us to another one in the area with no transportation help.
Excellent 8.2
The hotel is centrally located. We booked a garden view room and were upgraded to Nile View Room. Hotel was kind enough to also give us an early check in. Breakfast was decent and with enough options for us even though we are vegetarians. Loacation is very peaceful. Only negative was the breakfast provided for our Abu Simbel Tour.It was not upto mark and not packed properly.
Okay 5.1
Pros: Staff was nice, setup a tour for us. Price was good.
Cons: Insects, had to kill 6 cockroaches during my 2 days. Bed was very uncomfortable. No Wifi in room, only in lobby, bar, and restaurant.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Staff were very welcoming and kind.
Cons: I seemed to be allergic to something in the room.

Good 6.0
Hotel (5 star supposedly) not maintained well but we were not too bothered by this. Had a problem with wi-fi as it didn't work in our room (too far from reception). Also one night it was not working properly anywhere. Several people were complaining. I advised the night manager that it was taking 5 minutes to load a webpage. He laughed at me and said it was only two minutes and that was ok as it was free. I found his attitude highly irritating.
Good 7.7
Pros: the location is second to none, looking at so many trees and flowers with Nile views all around.Handy motorboat service to the town. Taking a leisurely motorboat trip into the area around the hotel was magic.I saw many birds and the time of day I chose to go,4pm is just perfect for photographing the area. The room had 2 balconies it also had tv fridge a large bed and a marble ensuite. This was a little tired though but anything required was seen to by housekeeping straight away. The food was good a nice varied buffet for breakfast and evening meal.A meal from room service was fairly quick and good value.
Cons: the gardening team starting to cut down some dead trees and saw up the branches (with a chain saw )at 8am on saturday morning.I know that radical gardening has to take place to encourage new growth but spring isn't the right time, anywhere!and 8am is very early. There was not enough staff for the restaurant service by the pool and I had words re a lack of change, later resolved. The food was good though. there was no a la carte restaurant,so wanting a simple meal one evening we took the motorboat to the town.
Good 7.1
Pros: Stunning location on an island in the Nile. The ferryboat operators were especially courteous and helpful, but the entire staff showed dedication to accommodating guest service requests.
Cons: Seedy rooms and infrastructure in the main building reflected the decline in tourist visits. Could use a major cleanup and renovation.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: My wife and I chose the Basma Hotel for our stay in Aswan, and we were definitely  not disappointed.  The room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the Nile River.   The staff were very friendly and hospitable.  The food at the restaurant "The Lotus" was fantastic.  Big shout out to our waiter Akhmed for suggesting the buffet, and his awesome service!  If you're looking for an excellent hotel at a great price, look no further then the Basma!  You will not be disappointed..
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect!
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: Breakfast is very poor and there is no wifi at the rooms.
Cons: Rooms and view
Good 7.0
Pros: location amazing
Cons: every thing was great
Good 6.0
Pros: The hotel itself is lovely. In a beautiful position, lovely rooms fantastic pool area and helpful staff and generally it is very clean. Nothing was to much trouble for the reception staff and they hold the place together.
Cons: The restaurant unfortunately can be only described as second rate at best. Whilst the buffet breakfast was good and the staff were friendly the al a carte offering was a joke. Starting from there being only 1 menu for the whole restaurant ( I kid you not) the meal served up was missing the main item ( no fish for the seafood platter!) and the rest was the worst meal I have ever experienced anywhere and in any country. Sent back, credited in full and an alternative replacement meal was provided but not the dining experience you would dream of receiving from a purported 4 star hotel.. Another first for me was ordering two bottles of lager which were 'opened' at the table and one contained simply water!! Simple things like with all of the condiments sets laid out on our table and those adjacent, the salt ones were empty. Clearly the restaurant has suffered from the covid situation and has become very run down. Immediate action is required. The opportunity is there, it's in a lovely hotel in a beautiful position and could be very very good. Currently however I can only say it is very very bad.

Cons: Wifi doesn't work.

Pros: The place is nice and clean but its a walking distance from the fun Nubian village, around 10-15 min walk. The staff is nice but no action is happening inside the property. The view of the nile is too far and its overlooking a very bad top view of small village houses.
Cons: The view - the fun part - the bed
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Khaled and his staff are very friendly and the place, rooms are clean I like the place
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This is a fabulous guesthouse. Yes, it is away from the centre of Aswan, but that is exactly what I wanted. Khaled is the perfect host, and I felt very welcome, especially as I was travelling solo. Khaled also provided transportation when need as well as arranging my tour to Abu Simbel. I highly recommend a stay at Ekadolli in the Gharb Soheil Nubian Village. It is peaceful, cultural and food is amazing. Great value for money.

Cons: Hotel was closed after booking with Orbitz and was in run down poor condition. They need to check their listings and make sure their hotels are still in business. Ana Kato did not answer my phone calls prior to arrival and Orbitz will not refund my money claiming I did not call ahead. How do you call a closed hotel? This hotel is unethical and will not refund my money claiming I did not call. The fact that Orbitz will not make things right makes it worse. DO NOT USE ORBITZ...THEY DO NOT CHECK THEIR PROPERTIES NOR TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH FAIRNESS OR RESPECT.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: I loved everything in this hotel. The stuff is kind, the breakfast is tasteful, the rooms are clean and the view at the river is absolutely stunning. You have to meet Mena! He became one of my favorite people on Earth 💕 Such an amazing person always willing to help you. Actually he helped me a lot, I did lots of activities thanks to him and had a great time in Aswan. Thank you! I will definitely come back 👌🏼
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I stayed in Room 303 with a small balcony (view to the Corniche) and from the main window there is an amazing view to the Nubian side. The room itself was clean, also the bathroom. Friendly staff and very helpful. The rooftop terrace (with a bar, non-alcoholic drinks) on the 5th floor is a good place to watch sunset.
Cons: Wifi was currently not working
Excellent 8.5
The hotel has an excellent location and fantastic view of the Nile. The staff is friendly and the food is OK. I think it would benefit from a competitive rate, it is too expensive.
Excellent 9.7
Pros: The room was big enough. It was very comfortable.and clean. It had a great view
Cons: The WiFi didn't work

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Really enjoyed the place. Although is an old hotel , the rooms were clean and the dinner they served us the first night was incredibly delicious . Staff is really keen to answer one’s need.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Good all around. It was on the Nile but the park out front was under renovations and torn up. Should be nice in future. Typical Egyptian bazaar ran for blocks right next to us. Fantastic. Good pool. Good breakfast. We parked right at the front door.
