Cons: The car I was given had dents and scratches all over it. I pointed this out to the attendant who was helpful and he helped me mark the damage on my paperwork. After 30 minutes I was ready to leave. I got into the car and someone had been smoking in it. Alamo was competitive price wise but they need to pay attention to detail.

Pros: Thought I was renting a Toyota Corrolla like vehicle and was pleasantly surprised to have a VW Passat instead. Can not beat the deal from Kayak.

Pros: Customer service was excellent, car was very clean and new, easy pick up and drop off
Cons: Actual car was very cramped and uncomfortable. Much smaller than the car I anticipated. Beside the fact it was new, I didn't care for it at all.

Pros: The car was almost brand new and the mileage was very good.
Cons: I had no instructions on how the newer automobiles work. I had to try and figure out what things were and how to use and find things. Also, I had no idea how to get from Greensboro airport to Asheville, NC. Our daughter-in-law hand wrote instructions from her phone so that we could find our way.

Make sure you have a credit card
Cons: When I went to pick the car up, they told me that I needed to provide them with a credit card in order to be able to rent the car. Other car rental companies don't require this and while this requirement was stated in the fine print (which many people don't read), I feel that Alamo owes it to their customers to clarify this requirement in large print when you are about to make the reservation. I offered to provide a credit card number, exp. date and security code, but was told that the actual credit card needed to be presented. I had to rent last minute with Avis, who do not require credit cards. it ended up costing about twice as much.

Alamo claimed Kayak provided the wrong reservation
Pros: For some reason, my Alamo reservation was handled by the Enterprise office. They fixed the incorrect charge quickly, bringing it down to my originally-stated reservation fee. They were efficient and professional (but as I said, they were not Alamo customer service agents).
Cons: When I dropped off my car, the charge was nearly twice too high. For some reason, my Alamo reservation was handled by the Enterprise office. They said my car was supposed to be returned in San Antonio, not Austin. Fortunately I had my original booking with me, which showed otherwise. They fixed the price for me, and they said the problem was Kayak had given them the incorrect reservation information.

Pros: Easy acquisition of car at airport pick up. Very good drop off procedures as well.
Cons: I tried to change my reservation online after I had picked up the car. It did not work well. So I had to call the airport location - which amended my reservation to my liking. Also the drop off fee for about 400 miles in the same state was enormous. This also was not broken out in the overall fee. In short, execution of the contract over the life of the contract was lacking.

Cons: There were many customers waiting for service during both pick up and drop off. This may have been the rush hour (closing time Satursday and then weekday rush hour).

Pros: Easy reservations, relatively short line at terminal in Manchester, friendly staff to direct me to car and get me going, very little paperwork.
Cons: Signage in terminal was a bit confusing; the car I rented was quite serviceable but still had manufacturer's seals on door edges -- looked a bit ratty.

Enterprise switched us to National. I Hate National
Pros: Absolutely nothing from the beginning. We were told at the beginning an Altima which my wife owns and then switched after confirming Enterprise had Altima 4 to be exact and we saw them and they gave us an uncomfortable and ooor driving and poor handling Impala.
Cons: Being Switxhed to the assholes at National who I took to court and won 5 years ago and told them I want Enterprise whom I started with and wanted to end with.
And the car was not comfortable and the Stero and Wifi had issues and it smelled when we drove it. My name is Erik Balodis

Pros: Car was clean and did not smell of smoke or anything else.
Cons: Car was located at the very end of the parking lot. Also, would have been nice to give instructions on how to return the car, i.e. park the car, take down odometer readings, then walk up to their counter vs an attendant in the parking lot.

Misleading advertising - Beware of the Bait and Sw
Cons: I recently rented a car on Kayak through Dollar. The photo and placement of the listing was in the "standard" section of the listing page. The car shown in the photo was a Chrysler 200. I booked the car and showed up at the counter to retrieve my car. Upon arriving and meeting the agent, I was informed that I rented a "Generic" car, which meant "compact". The agent didn't make any offer to make things "right". I canceled the reservation, walked down to the Budget counter, and paid more to get the car advertised on the listing from Dollar. The experience costed me time and money. This will be my last experience with Dollar (along with everyone in my company). No wonder their on-line reviews are what they are.

Pros: The cost.
Cons: Excessively long wait to receive car after arrival. At least 30min. About 7-8 other reservations also waiting for their car.
Car was damaged which required going back to the counter to document after pick up. Bumper scraped badly and car keyed on passenger side. Also every door appeared to have been taped closed for some reason which left the glue residue in the paint body.

Attendant at counter
Pros: The attendant at the counter ran my credit card as a debit. A 350 hold was attempted to be put on the credit card. I had to sit there with my daughter and wait for a car then was told my credit card declined. We say there for over 45 mins. And had to call someone else to come pick us up. She was late for school and I was out of money.
Cons: The attendant at the counter didn't listen or care that HE made the mistake.

Will not rent from dollar
Pros: Dollar car categories seem smaller than comparable companies. Cost to upgrade size was absurd. Counter staff did not acknowledge us at counter for several minutes, and appeared unfriendly when asked questions about the size of vehicle and was curt in replies. Went to next door booth who was less expensive and very nice

Easy, but for damage
Pros: Relatively easy experience, with smooth check in and return. Only issue was the damage on the car (see below.)
Cons: Car had some significant damage (bumper was loose and flapped when you drove) - we had to return to the terminal to report it, as it wasn't noted anywhere and no one was outside to assist. As a result of that report, we had an easy return (which was at a differrnt location.)

Pros: Problem from Kayak, Hertz 800 number helpful, still cost me about 10 more than quoted but customer service agent on phone worked with me to find discounts that would keep almost same price as quoted.
Cons: When I plugged in to rent car from GSO, Kayak did not let me know that they had changed from airport to a location about 15 minutes away. Hertz clerk at GSO airport did nothing to help with this-said it was Kayak's and my problem.

Cons: The pick up was horrible as the printer was down and the electronic signature pad was not working either. After waiting for over 45 minutes just to sign for the car, the car was pulled to the front. The car reeked of smoke when I picked it up and was dirty and sticky inside. The door panels and cup holders had sticky residue that was not cleaned.

Hertz ripped me off
Pros: - The car was clean and included a snowbrush and icescraper
Cons: - I originally reserved a rental car from Hertz at a non-airport location but because my flight was cancelled and I was placed on a later flight, the non-airport Hertz location would be closed. So I had to make a new reservation at the airport Hertz location since it was the only location that would be open. They charged $50 per day for a compact car
- check in and check out took much too long and staff was unhelpful
- car was located in a lot much too far from the check out counter

Cons: When I arrived I was not greeting verbally or with any kind of acknowledgement I walked into the waiting area. Common courtesy would indicate, not to mention a paying customer, some type of "Welcome" would be in order.
Drop off was well done!
Cons: it took entirely too long at the counter in the airport, about 15 minutes from when I first talked with an agent, until I walked away with the keys

Far too expensive
Pros: The car itself was clean and efficient.
Cons: The representative was deceitful in the explanation of charges at pickup. The way he attempted to offer additional services was as if he was confirming something I had already agreed to. For example, "So you will be using our Premium Protection Package, and prepaid gas?" rather than, "Would you like to purchase our Premium Protection Package and prepaid gas?" He also did not at all explain that the charges were daily rather than one time fees. I ended up paying twice as much as I had anticipated. It was absolutely NOT worth the cost and I will not ever do business with this company again. I should not have to read the fine print to avoid being jipped by a car rental company. I should be able to trust that business.

Cons: On the phone I was told by a representative at that branch that I wouldn't be charged an extra fee for renting under 25 as long as I had a credit card in my name, which led to my decision to get the rental car. However, when I got to the location I was charged an under 25 fee, which doubled my entire car rental cost. It seems to me like there needs to be better communication within the branch.

Reservation false, replacement big and smokey
Pros: This was terrible. First, I made my reservation at a local budget. When I got there the lady told me they didn't have any SUVs which is what I had reserved. So she said they had one for me at the airport. At the airport, which I intentionally had not made my initial reservation in order to avoid crowds, I had to wait an hour in line. And then they tell me THEY don't have any SUVs. I ended up with a gas guzzling huge pickup which teamed of cigarette smoke. So a very crappy expensive rental.. I also lost 27 dollars becaus I had insured the initial reservation but that didn't transfer to the truck.

Very good value for the money!
Pros: Very quick check in. Vehicle was clean and in great condition
Cons: No one was really there to do a once over of the vehicle and check for any outstanding damage. Damage waiver was just overall dents and scratches circled.
Cons: Car had scratches, gouges on hood and fender. Extra walking back and forth to have to report it and document it so I wouldn't get charged.
They didn't have their own counter and didn't ever have anyone at the pickup/dropoff location

Cons: Tried to give me a Tahoe first then when pressed that I rented a Suburban for its larger cargo they had me wait. Car was not ready at scheduled time and had to wait for an oil change for an hour and a half.
