Excellent 10.0
Pros: This is a lovely place to stay in Shangri-la. It is very close to the old town. The hostess, I think her name was Mary, was so kind and helpful. She was very responsive to my messages on Booking.com, prior to my arrival. She organised a driver to collect me from the airport. Her cooked breakfast that I enjoyed each morning was very tasty. She fixed my health code on my phone, which would not work properly, at first. My room was very clean and comfortable. My room was upgraded and had a lovely view across to the old town. Highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing. All good.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: These people were great, they were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Mary is so friendly and helpful. She made the difference in our trip through Shangri-la, helping us to organize transport, recommending restaurants, hotels and sights! The property is cozy, clean and has a pretty rose garden. It is 10 mins walk to the old town. Book here and don't think twice!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We stayed in the highest room on the 3rd floor which had a private outside terrace area (garden view room, I think was the name). We had a view of the mountains and the huge prayer wheel. The room was perfect, very comfortable bed and lovely hot shower. It is like a private cabin with many windows to look at the views. The electrical sockets can’t take much power- 5 minutes to dry your hair! Also as with many places in China, toilet paper can’t be flushed down the toilet. It is located at the top of a hill and they have a dog for security (if you are scared of dogs be aware, but it only barks). 5 minutes walk to the town. Mary was exceptionally helpful and gave us great recommendations for dinner and things to do in the town. I would definitely stay here again!
Cons: Nothing :)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Mary was very helpful and always available even to the point of keeping Wechat contact. Also able to communicate in English. Gave helpful information with a smile and made good western breakfast. A place that we would return to in a heartbeat.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Our host, Mary was excellent. She helped us with bookings and assisted us with the Chinese regulations for health codes. Breakfast was excellent and she also provided us with bus pick up and airport drop off's with organised drivers. She was friendly with always a big smile. The inn was in a great location, we walked everywhere. Breathe
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Mary(the owner) is very kindly. The place is good location, comfortable. Very nice to stay here.
Cons: nothing.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The hotel is conveniently located just near the North gate of the old town. its also very easy to get from there to some teples and other attractions. My room was very clean and equipped with electric blanket since it was winter. The lady owner was really amazing , she allowed me ti check in really early, and also when it was checking out day, she said I could stay in my room for longer and didnt even have to pay extra. If I ever go Shangri La again, I.will sure.stay at.that hotel.
Cons: Everything was ok.
Excellent 9.6
Excellent welcome and support from Marry. I was first disapointed that Kevin has sold his Gusest-house, but Marry the new owner, is doing even better in term of welcome and friendlyness... you can only feel at home for the first minutes!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The best hotel of my trip. Lovely family, very friendly, always smiling and willing to help and share about the place and culture. Super nice service and delicious breakfast, comfy and cozy.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The help provided by the staff to organize our trip was beyond expectations! They really took great care of us! Also the restaurant food was pretty good! Perfect location.
Cons: It could have been a bit cleaner and the shower temperature it was either too hot or too cold.
Excellent 10.0
Loved our stay here! A cozy little place, no frills, but just perfect. The staff was amazing and so helpful. Highly recommend!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Hot shower
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The gem of this hotel is the host Tashi - he went above and beyond to help us with every our Question. Also we enjoyed a lot the Location of the hotel, which is in the old town but at the same time it is quite in the evening.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Really beautiful room and great location. The owner was very helpful with travel advice and arranging a day hike. Thank you!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The property has a lot of character. It has a very traditional and authentically Tibetan feel. The lounge is very comfortable- especially good for relaxing after a long day of hiking. Tashi, the owner, was incredibly kind and accommodating. He organized a trip for us to the local natural hot springs (a hidden gem in the area), and a trip to the national park. He was full of information about the local area and went above an beyond to make us feel comfortable. The food from the bistro was fantastic. The Yak meat pie and Potato soup were particularly outstanding.
Cons: Because all of the rooms are situated around a small indoor courtyard and our room was on the ground floor we could occasionally hear people coming and going from their rooms.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Their fried rice is delicious . The yak steak and yak burger were also equally good. They have ginger tea at all times for you to drink.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: The location was super, nearly the center of the old city, and very close to the turtle mountain park. The owner was extremely helpful, he helped us to carry the luggage and recommended us a very nice Tibetan restaurant. The room was quite cozy,
Cons: There were some mosquitos during last night we stayed, but there no anti-mosquito device/tool provided, so maybe that is the thing can be improved.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The staff spoke English and we're very friendly
Cons: Great location and the bed was very comfortable.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Perfect location inside the Old Town, with lots of shops and restaurants very close by. 10 minute drive to the main inter-city bus station, and a quick walk to the local bus stop. Staff was amazingly helpful with everything we asked about.
Okay 5.0
Pros: The location was great in a quieter corner of old town. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are basic but fine considering the good price.
Cons: The walls are very thin. my neighbours kept me awake with talking.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room and beds are warm and also have an electric blanket for winter. The shower is good with enough warm water, and they provide shampoo and shower gel. The carpet is quite possibly the cleanest I've come across in China! By far the best reason to stay is the owners. They're genuine people, who were so friendly and welcoming that they made us feel right at home. They are willing to help if there are any questions and even offered to go with us to buy bus tickets. We felt sad that we had to leave!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The hospitality of the staff
Cons: A little less space in the rooms
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everyone there is really wonderfully caring and considerate. Thank you for everything

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Cute boutique hotel, with exceptionally friendly service from airport pick-up, to welcome scarf and ginger tea, to Chinese & Western style breakfast. Rooms comfortable, and nice touches like chess board in the lobby. Very accommodating when we arrived a day late because of a missed flight connection.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: All was just perfect 👌
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very nicely appointed room, great ambiance, nice bathroom, heated floors and comfortable bed.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The location, in the heart of Ancient Town! Suites are very spacious and cozy for a family.
Cons: The carpets and floor were not enough clean.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Can only recommend this place! A Gem and most of all the staff is amazing! Would definitely book again. The owner is a very interesting and welcoming person.
Cons: Payment with international card did not work in the Hotel. After several days and tries we could pay at a shop in town, also owned by the same owner. But no big deal!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel and rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. Guests are greeted with traditional tea upon check-in, and all staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very nice with traditional items like butter tea, and there is even warm milk delivered to the room in the evenings. The hotel has a great restaurant, and an event room for a private dining experience. The location is very convenient close to many restaurants in the old town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was wonderful starting from check-in to check-out. The hotel arranged free pick up and drop off from the bus station and greeted us with a hot tea and a warm fire upon arrival. The room was comfortable, and the in-floor heating kept the room wam. It even heated the bed. The breakfasts were good with American or Chinese options. Since it was off-season, many restaurants in town were closed and we really wanted to find some veggie momos. The restaurant made some vegetarian momos especially for us, which were great! The staff was very helpful and kind and we had a wonderful stay. The location was great with easy walking around the old City.
Cons: The bathroom is a bit cold, but the shower has great hot water, there are slippers provided and heating lamps you can turn on in the bathroom to make up for the chilliness.
Excellent 8.0
I like the hospitality shown by all the staff in the hotel. They really make us feel liked valued guests. Before we set out for the day, they ask us if we needed any assistance with recommendations on where to go. On our return, they will ask how was our day. And to top it off, they will serve us a cup of nice warm milk before bedtime as the nights are really cold when we were there. Temperatures dropped to sub zero and this gesture really warmed our hearts. Heating in the room was also quite adequate with heated flooring. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. On both mornings, we took the American breakfast which was pretty good. Staff was also attentive and reminded me to take my milk warm and not keep it too long as it will turn cold very quickly. However, we gave feedback that we could feel cold air seeping through the tiny cracks in the bathroom. Insulation could have been better. They took our feedback seriously and said they will do the necessary improvements accordingly.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The hotel is indeed a boutique hotel with a home-like feeling in a very warm environment with a nice and elegant decor (some sort of modern tibetan atmosphere). The rooms are very big with nice amenities and the staff is friendly although lacking of communication skills make things a bit difficult (only chinese widely spoken and limited english). The location is very good within the old city and the included breakfast is very complete. One of their staff members, Tawa is a lovely local who is super attentive and willing to do anything to make your stay better (he was my driver for a couple of days). The value for your money is quite good.
Cons: The city is not a big international destination, however the TV could have more options for international travelers.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: - Excellent location: Located in a quiet part of the old town. Opposite is a mini-supermarket. Eateries nearby. About 10-minute walk to Sifang Square - Good-sized room with heated wooden flooring - Good selection of breakfast choices. Free afternoon tea. Warm milk and digestive biscuits delivered to room nightly - Friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Pillows and mattress were too soft for us
Good 7.0
Pros: very charming
Cons: very noisy: you can hear the people from the adjacent room

Okay 5.0
Pros: Breakfast room staff was very attentive and helpful, and at least 2 associates with really good English skills.
Cons: English skill level of receptionists (of a 5 star hotel) at Zero, except for one lady who spoke good English. Without her nothing would have worked. We also received wrong information on club lounge services, and were first wrongly charged for F&B. Only after complaint to the lady who spoke English and after presenting our booking documents indicating our entitlement to club lounge services, the invoice was immediately invalidated.
Mediocre 3.0
Cons: I wouldn’t recommend the hotel, in general, and definitely not the executive rooms with a balcony. The balconies really can’t be used. There is a big bench outside, but it needs a cushion and is uncomfortable. Their executive happy hour is a debacle: sodas and wines are left in a large bowl without ice. You have to ask for beer and there are no cocktails, as advertised. The breakfast buffet is not what you would expect from other Shangri-la Hotel stays. In general, the restaurant that was open for breakfast and lunch was mediocre. The staff are kind and try to be helpful. Systems in place there are not like other Shangri-la Hotels.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff were friendly , hotel was quiet and peaceful, there was everything you needed here including a supermarket that was open late
Cons: On occasion I saw people smoking in the hotel lobby and elevator areas. Even there was no smoking signs visible. There people should be punished for harming the health of others through passive smoking
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good location, big clean room, good exercise facilities, extremely wide choice with evening and breakfast buffet. Great personal touch in the room as it was our differed wedding day: balloons, fruit and decorations on the bed. During our buffet in the evening we will also treated to a complimentary bottle of wine from Mickey and he along with the entire staff were extremely friendly.
Cons: At the start of the buffet the food was lukewarm but improved later in the evening. Spa wasn’t to standard expected.
Good 7.0
Pros: The breakfast buffet was pretty good. The baked goods in particular- really good croissants which was a surprise. It was comfortable enough but I was expecting a little more. Admittedly the cost was pretty reasonable. The one a- la- carte lunch I ordered was a soft vegetable spring roll which was very light and tasty. There is a convenience store which was handy for water and snacks. Overall, everything was OK. Good downtown location.
Cons: The hotel was big and vacuous in June- pre season I guess. When we arrived the fountains were not operational. There was only one restaurant open which for 2/3 meals was buffet. It's tastefully decorated but felt all a bit empty, dark and depressing.
Good 7.0
Pros: The breakfast was decent. Tasty baked goods, some Western options, fresh fruit, coffee machine. Good value for the price.
Cons: The hotel is a little dark and dated. When we first arrived the water features weren't working. The rooms are a bit drab. There was only one restaurant option which was OK but only a buffet for breakfast and dinner.
Good 6.0
Pros: Breakfast is good. Staff is helpful besides the communication issues.
Cons: We were expecting a 5star international hotel and this is not what you get. Very hard to communicate with staff in English. Not all staff wear uniform so you don't really understand who's staff and who's not. Spa area looks like a store room. Room is comfortable but no items in minibar, no light for vanity mirror, heater function not working and some other things missing. In conclusion, for the price paid we were expecting much more.
Excellent 8.4
located near food street and some attraction point, only option there
Excellent 10.0
We stayed in this hotel for 2 days. Our experience was great. The internet works so fast and the food selection was great. The view of the hotel is also amazing! On top of all, the hotel price is super cheap compared to any Shangrila hotel, even to our home, Jakarta :)
Good 7.2
Breakfast restsurant wattress is a bit lost though this is non peak season with only few customers. Its kind of boring at night with no massage parlour or other facilities in place.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very convenient location, standard size room, comfortable Herman Miller chair, complimentary goodnight warm milk, and stunning snow mountain view. Special thanks to River Tan from the front desk, who’s super nice, helpful and professional.
Cons: The brekkie option is considerably limited, however, given how cheap the room prices are it’s totally understandable
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The good place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they let us check in earlier than it supposed to be. The breakfast had a plenty choice of Chinese and western meal.
Cons: During the taking a shower the water was leaking from a cabin, so the floor was wet,but there was not a towel feet or something like that.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: There are English speakers at the reception. River, the reception manager speaks great English and gave us the best treatment. He really helped us with any questions and requests. One of the girls, unfortunately I don’t remember her name, went out with us at a freezing night to help us catch a taxi and make sure the driver understood where to drop us. The suite was very nice and comfortable, the beds were great. There was a small variety of western food at breakfast but it was tasty and enough for us.
Cons: Every time we took a shower the floor was flooded with water. The staff explained us that it’s not because of a leak or a block and there is nothing much to do. They gave us many towels to dry the floor.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We initially booked 1 night there and eventually extended twice our stay. Rooms are very comfortable and it’s very good quality/price Staff is very nice Self laundry service
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Very comfortable bed, good hot shower and lovely buffet western and Chinese breakfast.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room was exceptional, in my opinion. The bed was so comfortable and the room, nicely decorated, was provided with all the necessary amenities. The TV is large and the visual quality is great. The restaurant is good and coffee is available.
Cons: I wish there had been some beers or other drinks in the mini bar
Excellent 8.0
Pros: River and Rain went above and beyond to make our stay more comfortable. Rain was a great host at breakfast and offered some great recommendations of nearby amenities. River was a fantastic front desk representative. He made recommendations of what to do in the local area and helped us secure a tax receipt and sent it to my address elsewhere in China. The hotel was very comfortable, the rooms were spotless and the corridors were very quiet. The decoration has a slightly Tibetan vibe which adds to the character of the hotel. Overall, lovely stay.
Cons: It would be nice to have some more continental options at breakfast- bacon, cheese etc. Ban smoking in public areas.
Good 7.6
1. I feel unwell during the night 7/11 and the staff at the front counter didnt help at all. 2. the quality of the breakfast was not so good with empty bowls and no refill. the toaster is broken and the croissant jamed in the back of the tray.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The hot pot at the hotel was really good. It's 98 Yuan/ person. It's worth a try.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Although we went there during the summer, the weather in Shangri-La was rather cold. The moment we entered the reception though they greeted us very warmly and gave us some hot ginger tea and biscuits. They even upgraded us when we were there! We met a lady named Rose from the housekeeping who was very sweet and incredibly helpful. She gave us her contact so that we could ask for anything we needed at any time and she would personally bring it over with a smile on her face and a toy for our kids. Our second day there was her day off, we weren’t aware of this so we still contacted her for anything we needed and she happily helped us by relaying our requests to her coworkers. We would like to see her again. We also met Miss Ama there from the breakfast area who was very nice and helpful as well as the entire staff including the golf cart drivers. She explained to us a little bit about the Tibetan culture and why all of the houses (including the ones in Banyan Tree) were all so similar as they followed certain traditions such as the bathroom won’t be on the same floor that we eat food or go to bed and the number of planks on the roof. It was a beautiful stay in Shangri-La. We’ll never forget.
Good 6.0
Pros: Staffs are friendly
Cons: Looks haunted
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location you can fully enjoy the fantastic nature, very friendly staff!
Excellent 10.0
The highest levels of service, care, standards and facilities in beautiful Yunnan.
Excellent 10.0
This is a wonderful farmhouse retreat, with modern amenities. Between the spa, all day dining, and laundry we could be anywhere. But this farmhouse retreat is clearly away from everything. Come here to get away but know that there are dozens of local staff (all speak Mandarin, some speak English) to help arrange tours, meals, or massages.
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: The surrounding area is beautiful. Though there are plenty of other choices in Shangri-La. Some of the staff, especially the guys driving the buggies are very friendly and trying their best to help; some staff at the restaurant are helpful.
Cons: Is this a fake Banyan Tree? We didn't leave early due to booking conditions. 1. Poor hygiene standards. Corners and floors are covered in dusts and spider webs (both inside the room and outdoor). Furniture and curtains are stained and dated. It is worse than the hostels. 2. No training was provided to staff was the biggest problem. A woman in causal clothes and sport cap (no uniform) abruptly got into our room with her shoes on to do turndown service (we knew because we had to ask what she was doing in our room!); she ran directly to the bathroom downstairs and walked straight-out. We thought she was lighting up the oil burner, but only found one extra incense was left on the table. She didn't bother to leave any matches or add any oil, let alone emptying bins or replacing towels! Another time a technician came into the room to help fixing the TV, again with his shoes on, but left because he didn't know how to fix it! There were a couple of time we asked for extra towels as kids had altitude sickness, it took a long time to arrive, but that wasn't really the main issue. What bothered us was each time staff rang the bell like fire emergency even at late night (after 10pm) when they arrived. Room service in general took a long time. Once we waited for so long and had to step outside to wait. Eventually found a staff carried a tray from the restaurant lost in the hotel premises. She said that she didn't know where the room was. We had to explain to her the layout of the hotel! (The hotel only had 19 rooms/villas?!) 3. Low quality standards of the bathroom and furniture. The 'beds' are just super soft mattresses put on the floor. This is not a big problem if the hotel could have kept up with the service and maintenance. But clearly it is not the case. 4. For the luxury amount space, the hotel didn't bother to do any extra little effort. How about a small library, kids corner, or at least TV that works?
Excellent 8.0
Pros: the hotel is in a small village where is tranquil. Room has 2 floors. You stay at the upper floor and clean up in the lower floor, the decoration is good. but if people don't like traditional tibet style, might feel a bit uncomfortable due to it's quiet dark within it. but i like it sitll. the tibet incense and traditional bathtub are my favorite part
Cons: location is not good. out of the town, have to go through a very narrow path to reach. and not convinent to grab something to eat if you miss the meal time without informing hotel to prepare for you.
Okay 4.0
Pros: the staff is really nice and the place is charming despite the low standard
Cons: forget high standard. Poor food at the restaurant, spa very unprofessional, creepy room

Excellent 8.0
Pros: It was a great location in the old town. Lee was great and friendly, helping us to organise buses to various sights and to the town of Shaxi. The bed was also one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in in China!
Cons: We stayed in the middle of winter. The room was set up to be as comfortable as possible, with electric blankets and really thick duvets, however you can’t escape the fact it was -7 with no heating. Sleeping was comfortable but it was awful getting up and getting dressed. I would definitely stay here again, just not in the middle of winter.
Good 6.3
Pros: The staff were really nice, rooms were tidy
Cons: There was no running water in the morning. The communal toilets are rather dirty
Excellent 9.0
Pros: I walk 12 minutes from the old town mainroad after getting in by taxi from the bus station. The blue taxi from bus station is only 10y. The hostel is well decorated and so cozy. They provide coffee and warm water.
Cons: They must install heater in the room, its super cool in the winter season.
Excellent 8.8
The room was much better than I expected: spacious, clean, comfortable. Common areas are great and also comfy to relax and/or work. Location is perfect! Close to everything. I must mention three problems, though: (1) no wifi in the bedrooms of the 2nd floor (connection was way too slow); if you want to use it, you have to go to the common area; (2) people smoke (a lot!) in the enclosed space of the common area, where there are tables and sofas and games and music; so, if you want to spend time there and you don't fancy the smoke, be advised; (3) no heating in the rooms; I knew that before going, so it wasn't a surprise, and they do offer electric mattresses, which help a lot. But even so, sleeping in mid-November was already quite uncomfortable, since temperatures got close to zero during the night, and I can't imagine going there in the winter.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Super helpful staff, great location, great price and comfy room with hot water!
Cons: Took us a while to find the place. But it was our fault..
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Owner was very friendly and extremely helpful. Always available and spoke excellent English. Great quiet location and great value.
Cons: Everything was perfect!
Excellent 10.0
Cons: the best all everything
Good 6.7
Pros: The room was really nice than I saw in the website. The owner can speak English very well. It helped me a lot because Chinese people rarely speak English.
Cons: The bathroom can’t open water heater. I have to take a shower with cold water. It was very crazy, so please fix your water heater for the next visitor.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Personal is amazing! Lovely family, the boss is very helpful. The building is amazing, the reception is very warming. We can play billard, play music and the emplacement is 5 min to the old city, but very quiet and peaceful. Dorms were very clean. This hostel is very friendly, looks like your home alike.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent. The breakfast was great!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Great location! Walking distance to everything! Staff were very nice and helpful. They helped us organise a driver to take us from Shangrila to Lijiang, and we loved the driver so much that we had him drive us around our whole trip. The rooms were nice and tidy, but just to set expectations the photos are a bit nicer than the actual rooms. But still an overall lovely stay!
Cons: Just to set expectations, the breakfast was average. It wasn't amazing but it did the job. You can choose to have a Western or Chinese style breakfast which they make for you when ordered. The water pressure with the showers is also a bit light, so for people who like a shower with good water pressure just expect this.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Once you actually find it (the map and address are wrong on booking) it’s a very convenient location! You are five minutes or less from the main gate to the old town, shops, flying tigers and compass cafe restaurants and some cool bars. The staff don’t speak any English but they’re helpful and kind. Let us store our bags while we went north to Yubeng. It’s easy to get to the front gate and call a didi. Hot water and good WiFi. Rooms were spacious and though it’s an old building it’s got a homey feel, big comfy bed. We stayed twice and second time breakfast was a Chinese breakfast buffet which was good!
Cons: Make sure you get a worker on wechat and ask the location before you arrive. Many reviews complain it hard to find- it’s true. And there are actually two locations. So Shangri-La can get really cold and there’s zero heat. In summer though it’s warm in the day and makes for a good sleep to have a cold room. We originally booked a hostel on purpose to find out info about travel. But actually it’s not a hostel. It’s like a nice B&B feel. Which was nice and it was relaxed and quiet! BUT no travel advice
Good 6.0
Pros: The room was really nice. Very spacious and clean. The bathroom was nice and the location was excellent. The bed is also very comfortable.
Cons: Communication was not great. We told them we would arrive at 11pm and asked for airport collection. They agreed however when we arrived there was no-one to collect us and when we arrived at the hostel, it was closed with no one waiting for us. The breakfast was also not great. The Chinese breakfast is better than the western option.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Loved our stay here. Staff were so accommodating, room was really comfortable and clean. The hotel is in an excellent location just a 3 min walk from the square in the old town. Free breakfast was a nice surprise as we weren’t expecting it. We enjoyed our stay so much we booked another few nights and extended our trip in Shangri-la. Excellent value for money - highly recommend!
Cons: No complaints
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff who looked after us was very helpful. We used wechat to communicate prior arrival. They arranged pick up service from bus station and back to the airport. The hotel was cold even inside the building but in the room has an electric blanket which kept us warm. They offered western breakfast too with choices of egg, toast, local sausage and coffee tea. Hot water and wifi worked well. 5 stars stay
Cons: Too cold in december 😁
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was incredibly helpful organising the trips we made, offered us an excellent welcome tea and prepared us a very good western breakfast. The building is very beautiful in the traditional style. Our room 201 is very large with an impressive view to Da Gui Shang temple. The electric blankets add a touch of comfort, very welcome in the cold weather of November.
Cons: The cold weather of Shangri-la
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The staff services are excellent as they came to pick us up at the old town gate and prepared BF for us as we have to leave early before normal BF time, room is nice and clean, location is perfect...absolutely good value hotel.
Good 7.5
Pros: Electrically heated blankets must be the one feature everybody should have in their house! They were amazing. The room had a comfortable bed, no heater tho, just a tiny portable one (would heat about 10cm away from it). If you turned on the blankets they take about 1 hour to warm up to human temperature. bathroom was very clean and with heated lamps over the shower. Breakfast is generous in the morning
Cons: The staff tried to organise a trip to the Tiger Leaping Gorge for me and my partner. After a lot of hustle and them requesting our money straight away, the driver didn't show up in the morning. We didn't lose money, however we did lose time and effort to organise this. Plus we missed the opportunity to go to the Tiger leaping gorge by public bus at 7:30am. The room is cold. The bed has heated blankets, however you can't just lay around in the room as there's no heating there. Once in bed, you're good.
Excellent 10.0
The hostel was very good and staff are so friendly and helpful.I was impressed.
