The hotel was lovely and historic, right in the middle of the small town of Berrea, amidst many arts and crafts shops. The restaurant food was good, but the waitress rushed us. We didn't know that the dining room closed to reservations at 8 pm and we scheduled a 7 pm dinner. Pros (+) The place is beautiful and clean. Staff was fantastic! I will stay again sometime.

Pros (+) Nice decor in public areas. It's an integral part of Berea college. If the school interests you (it has a fascinating history) you will love your stay. Otherwise it's a pretty good older facility with an above average staff. Two of our party of three thought that the food was excellent. All agreed that the service was above average.
Cons (-) TV aspect ratio has squashed image. Neither the genetic remotes nor the controls on the TV itself can access the menu to fix that. Staff confirmed the problem and offered to give us a different room. We declined since we care little for television. This might be a bigger issue for people who do care. Pros (+) Lovely room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful hotel with big porch that is perfect to sit and chat on. The flowers are just gorgeous and are everywhere. Loved it!
Cons (-) The rocking chairs on the porch aren't very comfortable but that didn't stop us from spending time on the porch.
