Hotels near Dundee airport

Pros: We got a lovely complimentary upgrade to Junior Suite as we had just got married. Suite was lovely and the staff were really smiley and polite and professional.

Cons: Most people would agree that paying for parking is not great especially if you are staying more than a couple of days. The hotel only has 18 spaces which is not a lot for a hotel of its size. If you can't get a space in the grounds you are left with pay and display outside. Could be quite pricey. It did not affect our experience with the hotel itself.

Cons: For my tastes the room was far too darkand gloomy - had problems locating items on black furniture, dark carpets with very limited lighting with dark shades. Could not comfortably read in bed.

Pros: The cleanliness, helpfulness of the staff and a general feeling of being made to feel welcome. Everything was very good. I’ve no complaints, in fact the stay, room, facilities and staff were exceptional and better than many more expensive hotels I’ve stayed at.

Great modern hotel in a central location.

Pros: The staff were very attentive especially with my 4 year old granddaughter and it was my Birthday so they went out there way with a card and some vouchers to get complimentary drinks at the bar which was fantastic My granddaughter who is fascinated with phones managed to use the room phone which we never realised and one of the staff came up to the room to check everything was ok which was up and above his call of duty which he should be commended on.

Pros: This hotel was very clean and the decor & furnishings in the common areas and room were in excellent condition. David, at the reception, was excellent and very informative.

Cons: Self-service breakfast area was small and compact, compared to the rest of the hotel, which felt spacious. The actual dining area itself, was large and airy and very clean. Staff very helpful.

Cons: Maitre d was annoyed because we hadn't booked but reception staff said we didn't need to. She made it very embarrassing for us. Reception manager was very professional and sorted it out with the maitre d who continued to be unhappy that we were there.

Cons: The rooms and furniture are very old. Cleanliness wasn't good. The room wasn't cleaned at all during my four days' stay. Very poor facilities, yet with an augmented price.

Pros: Hotel very warm and welcoming. My excutive room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfy. On arrival staff was helpful and lovely.

Cons: I felt the food menu was very limited and over priced for what they had to offer. Choose to dine out rather than use the facilities at the hotel.

Cons: Firstly the description of this property it is not a "hotel" it is no better than a b&b/guesthouse and certainly doesn't deserve four stars. There was no WIFI or central heating, just portable heaters, and when my colleagues walked into the rooms the windows were open, in Scotland in October!!. Also misleading information telling people where breakfast was, when it wasn't available. also the location is miles from conveniences, like breakfast, snack or essentials. I prepaid for the rooms and was refused a refund!!.

Pros: The single ensuite room was perfect for my needs! Very clean & well furnished; the chair & desk was ideal for my uni work plus the WiFi signal was perfect even at the top of the building. The staff were incredibly helpful; I'd accidentally left a couple of items behind when I left & they rang me to let me know they'd be safe until I could collect them. Great location in the city centre & secure entry.

Cons: There is a bit of a wall to climb to get into the bed, and the mattress itself felt almost like sleeping on a waterbed. It was comfy, if you don't move a lot. Other than that, perfect, would come back!

Pros: Plenty of on - street parking. Close enough to city centre to be convenient, but residential and not noisy or congested. Very friendly and welcoming host who cooked a delicious breakfast. Good - sized, airy room and quiet location, so I got a good night's sleep. Very nice bathroom that has clearly had a recent refurb. Would definitely return.

Cons: The lighting in the room was poor, no mirror or plug for hairdryer, storage was poor, the bed creaked every time you moved - we understand the floor was creaky because it’s old but there’s no reason the bed should creak. We were only given one robe and requested another that never appeared. The water wasn’t refreshed and the cups weren’t cleaned. The staff never acknowledged us at any point and when we checked out, they didn’t even bother to ask how we’d found our stay. Very disappointed - we expected the basics to be met by a brand such as Malmaison.

Pros: The size of the room and location of the hotel is perfect. Reception stuff are great and room service food was good. Shower pressure is really good.

Cons: The bed was not done properly the bottom sheet could be tacked in better, l had to tackle it myself and made sure it was tacked under the mattress. The bed was not comfortable because the base is a lit hard and makes a lot of noise. The room was very cold and took a while to warm up and l had adjusted it to 32° and after 2 hours it was not warm. Besides that l enjoyed my stay.

Pros: Stylish hotel in a good location, friendly staff. Close to the waterfront and handy if you want to do a little shopping during your stay. Gorgeous grand staircase that any girl can imagine herself floating down like a princess! Ditch the lift and take the stairs! Contemporary bar with a cosy, intimate feel, enjoyed sampling the cocktails in there. Check in/out was fast, efficient and friendly. Found the staff to be informative and helpful.

Cons: Would have been an excellent overnight stay but for one or two little niggles. The room was lovely, unfortunately some construction noise from the building site across the road...not the hotels fault, although it was an upgraded room. The glass topped desk & tables are a curse for the housekeeping staff as they show up all the bits they hadn't cleaned from the previous guests. Dinner in the Brasserie was lovely, but the rice that came with my curry although nice and fluffy on top, unfortunately was sitting in water from half way down the bowl and they hadn't deveined the prawn.

We have stayed at the Queens hotel many times since our daughter came to Uni in Dundee, the hotel is relaxed and cosy, the staff are helpful and welcoming, the breakfast is really good and there is parking

Pros: The Taypark is a beautiful hotel. The room and breakfast was lovely and the customer service was excellent. We cant wait to return.

Pros: The staff were dry good and eager to please however we were not completely satisfied. The breakfast left a great deal to desired. We were given the accessible room we requested but it seemed to need a lot of updating. The bathroom floor flooded when you used the shower and it could have been cleaner.

Pros: The staff are all happy and helpful, making our stay very pleasant. Our room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and large bathroom. We had a lovely view over the beautiful treed garden to the river. An evening drink in the sunny gin garden was a delight and the breakfast was creative and tasty. We loved our stay, though it was too short, so we hope to stay for longer on our next visit. Thanks to all the staff and the manager / owner, who all do a wonderful job to create a tranquil and well run boutique hotel.

Cons: The hygiene left a bit to be desired. Carpet wasn’t clean a few stains on the bedding and dirty window sills with flies . Only one sachet of coffee per Person . Given the cost of the room this wasn’t really expected!

Pros: Beautiful old building in a good location for exploring Dundee by bus. The staff were really friendly and helpful, couldn’t fault them. Convenient having onsite parking.

Cons: Unfortunately, the room we stayed in had not been cleaned properly, particularly the bathroom. Having splashed out on the hotel we expected good quality but were disappointed by the paper cups for hot drinks in the room and no water glasses. The breakfast was rather style over substance being presented in small frying pans on a (dirty) chopping board. The food wasn’t all that well cooked and had gone cold by the time we had assembled our own breakfast baps. Overall enjoyed the hotel and recognised the boutique style which they were aiming for but a few things really let our stay down and stuck in our minds.

Pros: At the time - term had not started - it was pretty quiet, and the location made it possible to find streets that down to the Firth for some really fresh air. The porter helpful and friendly.

Cons: This was a muddle between Booking.com and the Campus/Univ of Dundee. The website said there would be breakfast included. Fact was, there was no breakfast at all offered. The Campus is out of town on the Firth Road with no shops handy let alone a cafe so this for me was very, very inconvenient.

I have stayed in lots of premier inns in both Scotland and England.This one was probably the best one so far. I have found that all locations have excellent standards with good friendly staff.
