Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was amazing! The bed was super comfortable and our room was absolutely spotless.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: By the Brae was a superb BnB. The location was perfect, facilities clean, shower pressure fantastic, with the wee touches of orchids on the breakfast table, nice cutlery and scottish fine soap company all adding to the experience. The hosts were lovely and friendly and the breakfast was delicious!
Cons: We wish we could stay for longer instead of just the weekend. Would prefer a whole week there to explore the surroundings and beautiful scenery Scotland has to offer. Next time for sure..
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was excellent!!! Location for us was perfect as it was not in the centre of Inverness but instead in the country.
Cons: nothing it was all excellent.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Richard & Jenny made us at home. Accommodation perfect, quiet and homely. Breakfast was perfect too with a great choice. We’ll be back.

Pros: Excellent! Nice place, Nice House, nice bedroom and excellent breakfast. The couple is really Nice:) All perfect... Diane and April
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Richard and Jenny were absolutely fantastic hosts. From the moment we stepped in we were made to feel welcome. Richard provided so many helpful tips and suggestions for local attractions and places to visit as well as giving us a great overview of local pubs and restaurants etc. We were kindly given a complimentary room upgrade and the room was lovely and spacious. Room was spotless and had all the facilities you need. Perfect location, just 10 minutes drive from Inverness City Centre in a quiet rural area. Breakfast was beautiful!! Perfectly cooked with tasty, fresh produce (the sausages were our favourite!). Every morning we looked forward to it as well as having a chat with Richard/Jenny and fellow guests. Overall we loved our stay at By the Brae and felt we wanted to stay longer. Such a lovely place that makes you feel right at home when you step in. Wouldn't book anywhere else in Inverness.
Cons: Nothing!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Our hosts Alasdair & Deirdre were welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. The accommodation was fantastic, everything was of a high standard. Every facility was there, couldn’t want for anything. The location was perfect, beautiful grounds, with lovely views across the river.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Our hosts were really helpful and really tried to support out requests for information regarding interesting sites to visit. They equally gave us full access to the gardens and we liked the information revealed regarding the development of the site. The property was really nice with attention to detail was evident throughout. Their games room was e xceptional.
Cons: We had no negative concerns. The facilities were homely and similar to our cottage in Cheshire. The weather was not perfect and it did limit our access to some sites close by. However, we had a great time and would love to visit the area again.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: We had a lovely welcome to a beautiful home. We hadn't expected the room to be part of a family home which was a bit of a surprise. Perhaps we missed that on the booking information. We loved hearing of the history of the building of the house and the nice tea given when we arrived. The breakfast was fantastic and served with a smile
Cons: We were surprised that the rooms were part of a family home which made us a little nervous about coming and going
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful location. Excellent hosts. Additional bathroom was perfect for our family group of 4 adults. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, bright and sunny.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The secret garden was beyond our expectation, the grounds are fantastic for an early morning stroll to watch the sun rise over the Moray Firth. Great location to base yourself for exploring Inverness, Loch Ness and the Highlands in general. Our family had such a wonderful time, the cottage has everything you could need. The host could not have done more for us, speak to the host about your sight seeing plans, as they are a fountain of local knowledge and readily available to pass this on, we had a fantastic 2 days thanks to the maps and travel advice given. We as a family highly recommend The Old Drynie House, shall endeavour to return as soon as we can.
Cons: We have absolutely no complaints, not even about the Scottish weather, sunshine all the way.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Property was beautiful. Completely peaceful and the hosts are wonderful.
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Setting and room
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location, gardens and views were fantastic
Cons: All good
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location was absolutely fantastic. Stunning gardens and the accommodation was perfect for our family.
Cons: A second fridge (perhaps in the garage) would be helpful for such a large family.

Okay 5.0
Pros: The honesty bar is a great idea and the general location is fab. The staff are lovely.
Cons: Our sea view room turned out to be very disappointing - this was the whole reason we had booked the hotel in the first place. The sea view was nothing more than a tiny obscure hint of the sea through a side window. In fact our main view was into the hotel log store, a general dumping area and the neighbouring residential houses. On the first morning we had a most disappointing breakfast. Turning up at 9am we found that there was barely anything left to eat in the buffet containers, and this is no exaggeration. We were clearly the last guests and our tardiness cost us dearly - we left hungry. My last gripe is to do with the hot beverage dispensers. The one on our floor stopped working midway through the first evening meaning that we had to walk down to the main lounge to get our drinks. Somewhat irritating when you just want to chill in your room in your PJs and have a cup of tea. It was still broken when we checked out after 2 nights. A decaf coffee option would be nice too! All in all, our most expensive hotel stay, the worst breakfasts, views and thus overall experience. Sadly I would not go back.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: We had a lovely stay here, great family room with separate bunk bed area for children. The honesty bar was a lovely concept and a really comfortable area with great views. Access to the beach through garden is great for walks. Hotel is close to lots of local cafes and restaurants. Breakfast was lovely and staff were very helpful and friendly.
Cons: nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Wifi kept dropping in our room. Slightly chilly
Cons: Lovely breakfast, large room and bathroom. Spotlessly clean. Vert comfortable. Amazing open fires in public areas. Wonderful views and location at the beach
Okay 5.0
Pros: Room was spacious and a big bed.Bathroom was clean with good facilities.
Cons: Breakfast was a buffet and did not meet safety recommendations for Covid.Customers sharing spoons to dish out breakfast and walking around without masks it felt unsafe.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We were on our honeymoon & were given a warm welcome with a glass of fizz on arrival. Our room/suite was fantastic.
Cons: I wish it was closer so we could visit more often, a 1200 mile round trip is a bit too far for a weekend visit😁 Seriously, can’t think of anything.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: EVERYTHING WAS GREAT,COZY ROOM,COMFY BED,VERY CLEAN ENVIRONMENT,COFFEE MACHINE,INTERIOR DESIGN,BAR,LOCATION,STAFF…
Cons: SOMEONE OPEN THE DOOR WITHOUT KNOCKING,TWO DAYS ON THE ROW I GUESS WAS A MISTAKE A PART THAT ALL GOOD
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Splendid property, friendly staff, we felt looked after. Just up the hill from the beach. 15 min walk to SunDancer restaurant (wackiest place for miles).
Cons: No view from the room: somewhat small and pokey.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Excellent room and breakfast. Host was welcoming and hospitable. The sea is just behind the B and B so make time for a walk around the corner!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: lovely house. great location. friendly hosts. tasty and good range breakfast. amazing beds and shower. totally recommend
Cons: nothing
Okay 5.0
Pros: Separate bathroom should be made clear in description. Would have stayed elsewhere if clearly stated. No effort made to offer anything for an early breakfast.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hosts were amazing and made us feel so welcome. They have this garden that goes all the way to the sea and the view is to die for.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: A good nights sleep followed by a really good breakfast (that you select the previous night) in the morning. The general area, dining room, rooms & toilets were clean. There was a tv in the room but we didn’t have the time to switch it on, was a very short stay. There were coffee and biscuits too. The dining room is decorated with plates from around the world - most likely of their travels, sweet couple (just respect their check-in/out policy) .
Cons: Nothing wrong with the property, it’s about a 15-20min drive from Inverness, so best if you have a car. Would be nice if there was a dressing table mirror in the room as the only one is in the bathroom. The host has a quiet policy after 10, but it’s difficult not to make noise while opening/ closing the main door and walking up the stairs (some creeky floorboards)
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: very good breakfast
Cons: Shower way to small & doors sticking at £85 for the room was to expensive and no images of Shower displayed
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very nice B&B, lovely room and en suite, breakfast, hosts, and views all first class!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Friendly couple who couldn't do more to help us enjoy our stay with them. Stunning views from our amazing room & amazing breakfasts that set us up for our adventures each day! Thanks again Jess & Dougie! Xxx
Cons: Nothing - it was all amazing
Excellent 10.0
Inchrye and it's hosts were excellent. Clean b&b well located for Airport Fort George Inverness ,Nairn and Highlands touring. Far better value than similar establishments in Nairn and inverness. Will certainly use again 0n next trip in area.
Excellent 10.0
Stayed for one night. Lovely hosts, very clean, excellent breakfast.
Good 6.2
Pros: The facility was very comfortable and breakfast was good.
Cons: The problem upon check in was that the hostess was very un hospitable. She was very rude to the couple who checked in just before us. (I spoke to them that night and the following morning. They did not feel welcome at all). As for my wife and I....my wife mistakenly booked only one person. The hostess wanted an extra £30 for the extra person. Does that seem excessive for an extra breakfast?. Well, I did say breakfast was good...but not for that amount. Oh well....at least she lightened up after I gave her the cash. (My wife wasn't happy but it was our vacation and I didn't need conflict)

Pros: We loved our bedroom (room 3) and the spacious guest lounge where we were able to enjoy some quiet reading time. The view is spectacular, as was our breakfast, with many choices and great service.
Cons: I can't think of anything that could be improved. Leanach Farm is perfect for us.
Excellent 9.0

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was delicious, the views from the room and dining room were beautiful. Rosanne and Ian were warm and welcoming and helpful with information on where to go. The B&B is full of beautiful home touches, feeling very comfortable. We were very pleased to have the opportunity to see their sheep, sheepdogs, and goat and appreciated Ian doing a working sheepdog demonstration.
Cons: We could not have asked for anything better.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had a great stay! Very comfortable. The family was very friendly and accommodating! Justina, our caretaker, was also so friendly and cheerful!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Host and staff were lovely. Great facilities, well cooked good breakfast, with lovely view. Host recommended we eat dinner at a local place which turned out to be excellent, we were so pleased to for the host to recommend, book us the table and give directions etc. En-suite bathroom facilities were excellent.
Cons: I think the bed frame was ready for a refresh. It was great having a fridge in the room but it was a bit noisy. I felt the overall cost was maybe too high but it was a very busy weekend in Inverness (marathon was on) so all accommodation was in demand, and booking.com take a hefty share of the price you pay.
Excellent 8.5
Pros: The place was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was hearty.
Cons: At five to ten (the checkout time), the call went out. We were to be out the door by ten. The room across the hall from us ran out with things hanging from their suitcases. We ran and loaded the car, were told, no you have not left anything behind. Then my husband discovered his briefcase missing and had to run in and get it from our bedroom. All relaxation was gone from the way we were rushed out the door. I have never had this happen at any other B&B we stayed in.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Room was great
Cons: No breakfast
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Room and staff excellent
Cons: Only downside was as hotel has only recently re- opened there was no food available, would definitely return when fully up and running
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Close to the centre and beach area. Very clean and the staff were very good
Cons: V Poor WiFi
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Nice rooms
Cons: Very noisy plumbing from other rooms
Okay 5.0
Pros: Location was fine,
Cons: No breakfast or other food available at the hotel which was unexpected. Bathroom was tired with vinyl flooring.
Good 7.5
Pros: This is a budget hotel with reasonable sized rooms for those staying in the lovely town of Nairn. Good parking, easy access from Inverness airport. Quite nice bar area where they showed the football match if you wish o big screens
Cons: Arrived at 9.10pm - asked for food and told dinner stopped at 9pm. I asked for a snack and was offered peanuts. Fawlty Towers offered sandwiches as I recall ! Mitra shower in room is inadequate, the rooms need a little love, staircase access is extremely tricky with bags to top floor Left a phone charger and adapter in my room - no contact from hotel, no phone or e mail. I rang up and was told initially they didn't have it at reception. I asked that they check housekeeping and phone me back-which didn't happen. I drove back to hotel and it was in reception Quite why this hotel would retain customer items and not make contact leaves a very poor taste. Surely they should make immediate effort to return items?

Good 7.0
Cons: Noise
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Location good, parking good, friendly staff, breakfast included, comfy bed

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Breakfast and location was good
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff were extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. They were very attentive and efficient at their job.
Cons: Nothing
Good 6.0
Pros: The price, the location and helpful staff.
Cons: The food, evening meal was expensive for what you got, not much of a choice & it was luke warm.
Good 7.6
Clean cosy room well furnished. Need some improvement in breakfast area.
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Great buffet breakfast. Roomy rooms. Located not too far from a bus stop, so easy to get places. We stayed here 4 years ago, and liked it.
Cons: Would be nice if they had transportation to/from train/bus stations, but getting there via the city bus is not too difficult (as long as a bus driver doesn't mislead you as to when your next bus really is). It was our most expensive room on the trip.

Good 7.0
Pros: Overall look & feel of the hotel was better than expected. Hotel staff very friendly Great location near coast Breakfast selection & quality was good. Great value for money
Cons: Long walk up dark driveway Arrived at 7:30 pm on a cold & wet evening following a 12hr train journey only to find the Restaurant wasn't allowing for any further tables. I was advised to order food from a 'lets eat' website from a local takeaway, to be delivered to hotel & eat in the room. There wasn't any other offer of food, hot or cold. There were only crisps to purchase at the bar or complementary biscuits in the room. Room was changed last minute from a double in the courtyard to a disabled / family room with double & bunk beds, odd shaped room. Room temp was cooler than wanted but bed was comfy.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Lovely setting and room had a great view. Staff were friendly and the food was great.
Cons: I could find no faults
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Almost Everything. Relaxing and peaceful hotel. Very clean and cosy rooms. Excellent food well presented. Attentive and friendly staff. our favourite thing was the table service act dinner p, something that is sadly missing in most hotels. The food was freshly cooked to order, and served by friendly and happy staff.
Cons: The WiFi tended to cut out from time to time.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: everything. our room was amazing and we actually could see the sea. there are a couple sheep and highland coos in the front for the animal lovers ❤️ big comfy bed, big room and bathroom. feel like a little princess staying in this hotel. the restaurant was also very pleasant and the food is good value for money and delicious. the mushroom soup of the day was amazing.
Cons: there is a bit of an old house smell in the hallway, nothing else
Excellent 10.0
Pros: location facilities staff food everything!
Cons: there was nothing I did not like
Excellent 9.6

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Excellent food and very friendly, helpful staff. Location is good, convenient to Inverness airport.
Cons: It’s an older building and water pressure in shower not so strong.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Staff were great, good parking, good food
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Friendly staff. Reasonably priced dinner which was enjoyable. Quiet location.
Cons: Access to room involved going outside. The dining room was a bit cold but that was probably due to windows being open due to Covid.
Good 6.0
The rooms were big enough and cosy however had a musty smell. They were old and dated. The staff were very friendly and did their best to accommodate us. Whilst the accommodation needs an update it was an enjoyable stay
