Excellent 8.0
Cons: I’d have liked some cereal and/or fruit
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Comfortable and spacious rooms, friendly owners.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: clean, modern and friendly.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Absolutely lovely, everything was fantastic! Fully reccomend. Not sure I talked too much in the morning.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Clean and modern refitted rooms
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The hosts were very helpful and kind. We arrived quite late in the day and so stopped on the way to have dinner, which they advised us on. The breakfasts were amazing and very good! We left soon after to go up to John O'Groats so didn't get to enjoy the B&B very much but it was exactly what we needed.
Cons: The rooms were good, though a little compact, and comfortable. They were both actually a little too warm and we couldn't figure out how to adjust the heating so had to open the windows which was sad cause it felt wasteful.
Good 7.0
Pros: Nice people nice location
Cons: They did not offer breakfast ,booking said breakfast included, needs soundproofing to rooms
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Everything about Alba Sunrise is good, there was nothing at all to dislike about my stay
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Good 7.0
Pros: Hosts were very friendly and helpful. I felt safe travelling as a woman on her own. Room was clean and bright .
Cons: Temperature in room wasn’t consistent and duvet too thick so didn’t sleep well. I said I might be up early so I’d just go and wasn’t worried about breakfast but was told they would be up . I left at 6.45 to a pitch black house , no lights on in or outside the house which was a bit daunting . I understand they are new to this business so this is constructive criticism

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Food was excellent in restaurant on night we arrived. Breakfast was also excellent in morning. Staff were all extremely friendly.
Cons: We had a shower over a bath. I found it very difficult to get in over bath to have shower, Would have preferred a walk in shower.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The room was big, clean and comfortable. Nice bathroom. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was very good. A very nice stay in Wick. The view on the river is very nice.
Cons: There was a constant smell of cigarette smoke in the bathroom, probably coming from the ventilation. We had to leave the ventilation on all night to get rid of that smell.
Good 6.0
Pros: Staff very welcoming in reception and bar. They also allowed us to change rooms on arrival (for superstitious reason) without fuss. Parking available on street right outside. Restaurant good quality and value. Breakfast was fine. Plus they provided us with a packed lunch to take with us
Cons: The location is quite noisy particularly at bar closing time. The room was small and quite tired but had everything we needed. The bed was not comfortable
Excellent 8.0
Pros: clean and tidy
Cons: the staff could have been a bit more friendly
Good 7.0
Pros: Room was lovely and the staff made us very welcome. Breakfast was well organised and a great start to the day
Cons: There was no space in the bar for a leisurely drink before the evening meal as this was put over to more dining tables for guests but they were still taking walk in’s from the local public. Parking close by was not as easy as suggested when we booked as it’s all street parking.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The breakfast was very good but the best part of our stay was the dinner in Bistro No. 1. The service and food were both excellent; it was one of the best dinners on our Scotland trip.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The staff were very helpful and the food excellent
Cons: The town of Wick is a little fun down, which doesn't aid first impressions
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good position excellent food in restaurant good breakfast
Cons: Stayed 2 nights both nights could not go for a drink in the bar as all the tables were reserved !!!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Clean, pleasant hotel with good food what more does one need on NC500
Cons: Nothing to dislike

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very quiet, central area, very clean and good interaction with owner, breakfast was very good
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Warm welcome, friendly helpful staff, cosy room with plenty space and excellent breakfast
Good 7.0
Pros: Lovely large room, ideal location and excellent breakfast. The staff were great!!
Cons: The stairs to the room. You had to be fit and it wouldn't suit everybody. The parking was behind the hotel in a public car park. Although it was free and well lit it was a fair way to take luggage.
Good 6.0
Pros: location good.
Cons: Quite tired furnishings. Our bathroom window looked out onto a car park and front of Poundland - it didn’t shut so we were able to ‘people watch’ while sat on the toilet 😳
Excellent 10.0

Excellent 9.0
Pros: All round it was fantastic. Arrived late after a long drive, gave us a lovely quiet room, served good food and staff were very friendly
Cons: Hotel feels dated, but that was expected given the remote location.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Nice staff and powerful, hot shower.
Cons: Very uncomfortable bed, bedding and pillows. Low budget accommodation which is over priced due to location.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The shower was amazing (room 2)
Good 7.0
Pros: Room was comfortable but a little dated. The beds / mattresses were comfy and supportive Food was freshly cooked and fresh Staff could not have been friendlier - thank you
Cons: The bathroom floor looked, so felt, grubby - it was dated.
Okay 4.0
Pros: Food was good. Lots of different gins and whiskies
Cons: Bed was so hard. Quilt only just covered bed. Needed a larger quilt.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: ideal location very clean very help full staff
Cons: door did not lock from out side breakfast portions a little small on leaving was told I never paid for the room when I did on booking.com had been told I’d get a call back checking for confirmation that I had payed for my hotel room did not receive a call back had to call the hotel myself which was quiet frustrating having to worry about it during my holiday.
Mediocre 3.2
This is a very shabby hotel. The rooms are dreary and in serious need of updating. However the bed was comfortable, despite being in a cramped space. The food in the restaurant was OK but we had to wait one hour for our food to arrive. The staff were friendly and courteous. Overall I would not recommend this as a place to stay.
Good 7.6
Very remote …near ferry for Orkneys Ok for short stay Warm , basic but adequate Have to eat here as nothing else about
Okay 4.8
Stayed in 8 hotels over the last 10 days of traveling and this was the worst, old worn towels and old duvet, one loose tea bag was left in an old tin in the drawer, the food was just average, anyone doing the NC500 should look at staying somewhere else and driving into John O Groats, I don't think this hotel really tries to be anything special because it's the only hotel there
