Excellent 10.0
Pros: The facility was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The owner , Paul, was an excellent host providing us with breakfast meals and suggestions for visits.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It was very comfortable spotlessly clean and roomy. The bed and bedding was exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast was very good too. A family run business keeping the best standards.
Cons: Nothing could have been better for our stay
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Extremely comfortably, cosy and a great location. Fantastic breakfast and a fountain of knowledge and tips from the host Paul, on where to go and how to find the best spots. Would highly recommend.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Property was spotless, immaculately maintained and an ideal local very near the town but not in the town. Lots of nice restaurants nearby. Room was spacious and clean, bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfasts too and the host was great.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was very good and well-cooked. Location was perfect - quiet and easy to walk to town centre.
Cons: Nothing not to like.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great hosts super friendly and helpful, breakfast was lovely and rooms were a great size lovely clean and comfortable.
Excellent 10.0
Fantastic place, would highly recommend. Myself and a colleague stayed here during a work visit to the island. (Just back) The owners where so accommodating, had a few issues with booking site agoda and the owners went out there way absolved the issue for us. The breakfast is fantastic 150% better than any mass produced hotel breakfasts and I have seen my fair share of this on my travels. Would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Lewis and harris wether it be for a day, a week, or longer. Thanks again

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Accepted dogs even ones the size of our wolfhounds. Really lovely accommodation. Very good service and information when required. Proximity to a beach to let our dogs have a run. Really good breakfast. One of the best of our two week tour of the north of Scotland. Fantastic views from the lounge area. Excellent small bar facilities with nice little touches like a cocktail menu.
Cons: It is hard to think of how this B&B could be improved.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything 😊 Exceptional room, beautiful bathroom. Lovely hosts, fantastic breakfasts enjoyed in a relaxing room overlooking the bay. The hosts’ attention to detail was above and beyond.
Cons: Nothing, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very relaxed and peaceful atmosphere with lots of attention to detail. Great views. Evening sharing platter dinner was lovely.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Everything else. Great food, lovely room with comfortable bed and everything we wanted catered for. One of the best places I have stayed in and highly recommended

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff excellent Room lovely Breakfast amazing
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Loved the breakfasts, Rachel cooked all superbly & attention to detail impeccable. My wife was able to choose well and something different each day without damage to dieting. It would have been nice to have a choice of morning fish, i.e. kippers, smoked haddock etc BUT Rachel cooked all so beautifully, I am not complaining. Sleeping was great, warm, comfortable and peaceful. No outside noise.
Cons: Minimal complaint which was rectified. The TV in the room would lose it's picture after perhaps 30 minutes viewing or so. Had to totally reboot it from the wall socket, not just turning off at the remote. The hand basin in the en suite was miniscule. A job to brush your teeth over, but the shower was lovely.
Okay 4.0
Pros: Host was very friendly when we arrived and helpful.
Cons: Rooms were poorly furnished and en-suite was tiny and tired. The breakfast was really not very pleasant and we were served by someone who had a dirty top on which wasn't great first thing in the morning. It reminded us of student accommodation. We got locked out of our room so rang the host who directed us to the kitchen and where the master key was kept. This in itself rather concerning as anyone could have easily had access to our room just by removing the master key.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great location within walking distance of all of Stornaway. Wonderful friendly hosts.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Rachel and Graham were the perfect hosts. Communication was brilliant from the start and Rachel looked after us from the moment we walked through the door. The accommodation was lovely and to a very high standard and the place had a very warm, cosy feel. We felt at home, straight away. The location was ideal too, as we had easy access to everything we needed or wanted to do in Stornoway. There was also plenty of parking either on the road just outside the front door or in a car park very close by. The breakfasts also deserve a special mention - they were plentiful and delicious! All round, a fantastic place to stay with very considerate, helpful hosts. We'd definitely recommend them!
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: excellent location gorgeous spotlessly clean rooms excellent facilities and a fantastic manager called Rachel who is absolutely superb nothing was too much trouble just brilliant thankyou.Excellent breakfast and fantastic service.
Cons: Everything was just great.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent very warm reception. Accommodation superb. Breakfast perfect. Rachel gave us such a reception more like a family welcome. Could not fault this B&B. A Stornoway hidden gem. Will be back.
Cons: Nothing to fault with this business.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: the hosts are charming. excellent breakfasts. supremely comfy bed.
Cons: nothing.

Good 6.0
Pros: Very clean, well located B&B. Staff were friendly.
Cons: Tiny room. Basic facilities.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location and very quiet.
Cons: Room was ample but not huge
Excellent 10.0
Pros: perfect for my needs,
Cons: the owners are a credit to the industry, so welcoming and helpful, a delight to stay there
Excellent 10.0
Pros: A really lovely, comfortable guest house, conveniently located for the ferry. The breakfast was just superb. Linda was just the perfect hostess and gave us a fabulous tip for a great day out to a stunning beach ....just a few miles from Stornoway. Linda, you are a legend....we loved it.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: lovely room. excellent breakfast. kind and friendly host. Thank you
Cons: proximity to busy road
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Perfect for town centre
Cons: The step going in is a trip hazard for me. That’s all
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very comfy bed and good pillows. Excellent water pressure and temperature for showers. Really liked the modern plugs with usb sockets. Convenient location for everything in Stornoway. Linda was such a warm and generous host - I could scarcely believe the kindness in offering to give me a lift a few miles along the road to cut out a boring part of my hike.
Cons: Rooms at the front of the house are on a main road with a surprising number of cars going past into the night. Not a big deal, but light sleepers may wish to bring earplugs. The chair in the room was so hard it was actually a little uncomfortable to sit on.
Excellent 9.4
Pros: I stayed at the Guesthouse for 5 days. It is quite pleasant and very centrally located; very easy walking to anything in Stornoway and the HebCelt Festival entrance was only 2 1/2 blocks away. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was good and included the famous Stornoway Black Pudding by Charles Macleod
Cons: Some might find the rooms a little small. For me, they were fine, as my plan was to be out-and-about most of the time.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: There was nothing we disliked.
Cons: The location, owners and the great Highland hospitality. A very kind gift of a bottle of Prosecco when Shona found out it was my 60th Birthday. Fridge in the room was a great bonus.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very close to everything we needed
Excellent 8.0
Pros: ideally located, very comfortable, very friendly
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Location was good. Easy to find street parking.
Cons: Very very small en-suite
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was excellent
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great location for walking into Stornaway and ferry port
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location is only a couple of minutes away from the check in for the Ullapool ferry.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Handy for port Checkin anytime
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The bed was so comfy I never wanted to leave! The hosts were very nice and breakfast was lovely.
Cons: Water pressure in the bathroom wasn't very strong so it took a while to wash the suds out of my hair.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I'm an awkward eater being a vegan and Shona went out of her way to accommodate me and supplied me with a lovely breakfast. Will stay again whenever I'm in the area.
Good 7.9
Pros: The duvets and bed linens were very nice. Allie was very helpful.
Cons: The shower was difficult to use. The toilet used copious amounts of water to flush. Our room with a view was a skylight. The view, in reality, was a shared bathroom with surrounding windows, complete with binoculars, to view the harbor. I'm very sorry that we paid for a view that we obviously could not enjoy. Breakfast was the least enjoyable breakfast that we had during the 2 1/2 week stay in Scotland. The fruit was in grocery produce containers, hopefully washed, from which the guest was expected to plate. Opened cereal boxes were lined under a side table. The sausage was of lesser grade, unlike we had anywhere else in Scotland, as was the bread for toast, which we pulled from a bag, along with everyone's hands.
Mediocre 2.5
Pros: Not what was expected
Cons: Staff

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Staff were great especially the lady on reception, nothing was too much trouble
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Central location, great restaurant. Friendly staff. Good service. Wonderful view from our room.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff were super friendly from when we arrived and even upgraded our room for our honeymoon which was a lovely surprise. The food in their restaurant was lovely and the room was very comfortable.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Bed was comfortable and the room was clean unfortunately I had an early start the next day and missed the breakfast
Cons: It would have been good to have the restaurant open slightly earlier to accommodate customers getting the early ferry rather than a pack lunch but doesn’t detract from the excellent staff and accommodations
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very friendly staff.
Cons: The towels that I had used were not changed
Good 7.0
Pros: The location was great, the room very clean. But it was the staff who were exceptional. They were all absolutely lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as they could. The food in the boathouse was also wonderful.
Cons: Not much, really enjoyed our stay.
Good 7.6
Very good breakfast, comfy bed. Room at rear a bit noisy from kitchen fans until around 10.30. Good location on the harbour side and central of Stornoway.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: quality of the furnishings & finishes are first class
Cons: the weather!!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Excellent location within easy walking distance of the town centre. Good parking, good food, pleasant staff, clean and comfortable bedroom.
Cons: A bit soul-less but that is down to the architecture of its period of construction. The staff were very welcoming, however.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: close to all amenities with friendly staff
Cons: location and comforts
Good 7.0
Pros: Problem with room allocated, but new room found for me so service good. Food mainly really good over the three nights I stayed apart from the Fish and chips wich was only okay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel is brilliant and in a good location, a short walk from town. Food was excellent. The staff went above and beyond to help: thank you!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel was modern, clean and a pleasure to stay in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had excellent facilities. We highly recommend a stay at the Cabarfeidh Hotel. Outstanding.
Cons: Nothing!
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: Nothing, they cancelled my room on the day of arrival without notice.
Cons: See above

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good porridge and freshly cooked food
Cons: Perhaps the central heating could have been timed for a little earlier than 6 pm
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Breakfast too expensive
Cons: Lovely building, clean and tidy. Good standard of room and breakfast
Okay 5.0
Pros: Ideal location for ferry but had to ring for access as key code on door took nearly 10 minutes before owner appeared and room was right at top up 2 steep flights of stairs. On a plus the shower and bathroom was excellent very small box room in loft
Cons: Stairs too steep I had all motorcycle gear to get down early in morning, owner did offer on way up to be fair but it was only one night and I had early start so wasn’t too bad but I wouldn’t stay more than one night
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Good location, comfortable, clean, good breakfast
Cons: Remote control on tv not working so manual buttons used
Good 7.0
Pros: Room was warm and clean with coffee and tea facilities.
Cons: We paid £110 did think this would have included breakfast but could be wrong. We asked and were told that is just a room price. We were leaving early for ferry not sure if we didn’t get breakfast because of this but there was no packed breakfast either. Saw owner on arrival when we rang as instructed on notice, didn’t see again after that, checked in at 4pm and left at 5.50am next morning.
Excellent 8.0
Cons: Not clear room only and rather expensive breakfast.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Roddy was an excellent host and the quality of the whole house was superb. Breakfast excellent too. Highly recommended.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Warm, peaceful, with kind hosts.
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: Nothing
Cons: They never topped up my coffee sachets or emptied my bin. On leaving and entering my room, There was a strong constant smell of tobacco or pipe smoke. I smoke myself but never in my room or on the property. So this annoyed me very much. The area was a bit far from town and with bad weather, I was soaked after my 15-20 minute walk going to and from my accomodation. Not ideal but hay. they can't control the weather
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Everything
Cons: Everything and breakfast was amazing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Exceptionally friendly owner who greeted us as soon as we arrived, made us a take away lunch for our early ferry and made us feel very welcome. The room was warm, cosy and had all mod cons to make the stay enjoyable. It felt like heaven after three nights of rough camping before hand!
Good 7.0
Pros: Location was handy for us as were were using the car to tour the island. The breakfast was really really good, rooms were a little dated but very clean and comfortable. A nice old fashioned bath was very welcome after a day out and about
Cons: The checking in process was a little off putting when arriving in the dark (it was a really dark and stormy night) it would have been nice to be greeted by a human being rather than a note stuck to the door. Sharing a bathroom is ok but there was only one toilet on our floor which was also in the bathroom, a separate loo would help.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Arrived late at the hotel. Full instructions left for us about where our rooms were as the hosts were going to be out. However they were back. Breakfast was fantastic and set up us for both days we were on the island.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Lovely views and good location
Cons: Perhaps decor could be freshened

Poor 1.0
Cons: the rooms were freezing cold never slept well at all
Good 6.0
Pros: Room fair, dinner good, breakfast fair
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Room was a double and a good size. Decor a bit tired but comfortable enough. Breakfast was included and was ok. Close to town centre Friendly staff on reception
Cons: Hotel is a bit “tired “. the hotel lacks a residence area - somewhere for guests to sit and relax. The bar area is very small with only a couple of tables right beside the entrance door. There is a residence lounge on the first floor which I did visit however the room was occupied by men watching football on the TV and the other end of the room was filled with a massive snooker table.
Good 6.0
Pros: Did not have breakfast. Location was great.
Cons: WiFi was lousy. Hotel OKish but dated.
Good 7.6
Very good
Mediocre 3.6
Let's start with teh only positive: the hotel did have Covid secure measures in place but... The doors to the rooms slam shut, so with guests going to bed and rising at various times you are lucky if there are 6 hours in the night without a door banging. Some of the bedrooms have four walls with no windows in them! They might have a bathroom attached but they are like prison cells with an en-suite - and that's what you get for the economy rate!. The power supply trips easily meaning you can have uncharged electricals. The dining facilities are underground with no windows. You had to ask at reception for loo paper when t e roll ran out in your bathroom. They wouldn't even take away the inner cardboard tube. Now I understand why it was the last hotel accommodation available on the island.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: The owner was very friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean and breakfast was great. Great location near town centre.
Cons: The bed was a double and was quite small for two people. The bed covers were a bit tired and perhaps should be replaced. The room was very expensive for what it was, I didn't feel I got good value for money.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: This is a beautiful home and very cosy. Breakfast was delicious and nothing was a problem . It is in the ports area but don’t let this put you off it’s a lovely home to stay in .

Pros: Very friendly owner. We could check earlier as we arrived on sunday and most is closed in Stornoway. We were also offered to use the breakfast room after checkout when it should rain to much (lucky rain kept away for a while!). Nice tasty breakfast.
Cons: Would have liked the use of a common sitting room instead only our beds.

Pros: The place and Louie the owner were amazing
Okay 5.6
lovely view, decor, bathroom excellent BUT pillow and quilt were flat and limp and base sheet on the bed barely fitted so became rucked up with papery protector underneath meaning not very comfortable in the night. Just need a bedding refresh all round. Dressing table very dusty.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything, Louie was a lovely host and nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect 😊
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely, big, comfortable room with a great view! Really nice private bathroom and the location was perfect, just a short walk from the town centre. Louie was very welcoming and helpful. He served a delicious breakfast to order.

Pros: Breakfast delicious, we’ll presented and timely. Louie was friendly without being overbearing and intrusive. Bed was soooo comfortable - we slept really well. Bathroom lovely and clean, really enjoyed first bath in a very long time. Louie was also helpful with questions about the Island.
Cons: Small oversight was napkins with morning breakfast but got them when requested.
