Lovely clean and decorated rooms and the view from the window was great.
No one offered to help with our bags as it probably looked like we didn’t have money, but as sat in reception they offered to help everyone else. For the value of money we paid I wouldn’t stay again, I though it was going more spacious that what it was. We had to wait till after 3 to check in which is fine as it stated you can’t check in till 3 but 3.20 came and we still had no phone call, when we asked at reception if our room was ready they handed over the key?

We travelled for my mums 60th birthday and we were given a voucher for two glasses of champagne in the hotel bar. In the bedroom was a note from the staff wishing my mum a happy birthday and a little bowl of chocolate truffles.

The concierge staff is THE BEST in EDINBURGH! They were very friendly and enthusiastic about helping people with all kinds of problems including luggage lost by the airlines! Their restaurant recommendations were spot on. We liked the Old World feel of the public rooms.
There is such a huge variety of unusual rooms that is was frankly difficult to figure out what kind of room we were in and where we might like to move. We loved our first room--a King Firth of Forth view room--the size was great and the view was awesome, but it was not air conditioned and we had to keep the windows open. This would be fine if the glass recycling center for the whole neighborhood was not below our windows. Glass was dumped all night, every night. Not conducive to sleep. So we moved to a room with A/C, but it did not have WIFI. Then we moved again to a room with A/C and WIFI and it was very, very small. But that is where we stayed. The Inter-Continental recently bought this property and they have work ahead of them to make sure that all rooms have A/C and WIFI. The location is great and the staff is great!

Excellent friendly front desk and concierge. They couldn’t do enough for you.
The hotel wifi was exceptionally slow and breakfast service on Saturday morning chaotic.
