Pros: Absolutely loved this place. It was calm, relaxing and perfect for what we needed. The pool area was clean and quiet and it was great literally being on what felt like a private beach. We made use of the onsen and booked it during sunset which was gorgeous. Food in the restaurant was also all delicious.
Cons: WIFI wasn't working. Everything else was great.
Excellent 10.0

Pros: Big rooms, nice staff and very close to the beach.

Excellent 9.6
I just got back from my trip to Ishigaki, and wanted to take the time to write a positive review (I’m not usually one to write them). This property and staff were amazing. Our two bedroom suite was huge- so much space for my family to spread out. The suite was well appointed with toiletries, snacks and iced tea. The breakfast was terrific- so many local cuisine options. The staff was very helpful , helping us book reservations (our Japanese is limited). The location is easy access to the airport, and about a 15 minute drive to the port and town. There isn’t anything in walking distance, but that was fine by us as we had rented a car. My only suggestion to w the hotel is to add a sign in English for no Japanese speaking foreigners. We arrived at night in the rain and passed the hotel. Luckily google maps came to the rescue. I would stay here again should I find myself back in Ishigaki. Thank you to the staff!
Good 7.1
Pros: Very large, new and well-appointed apartment with all mod-cons - even a self-filling bath if you can figure out how it works. Staff were polite, cleaning service was excellent. Not too far - driving- from Ishigaki port for dinner etc but also in a quiet location. Lift up to the apartment perfect for families with small children in buggies or visitors with mobility issues.
Cons: Bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable - this is typical for beds in non-Western brand hotels in Japan but I wish they had mattress toppers available for guests who don’t fancy sleeping on a rock- hard slab. Price was also very high considering facilities are minimal - nice apartment but small pool, no restaurant, no spa. ‘Resort’ in the hotel name is somewhat misleading. For similar prices you could stay in the Four Seasons - albeit not in Japan! We did book rather late in high season though, so value may not always be an issue.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. He even walked us to the beach at night and accompanied us to do stargazing!!
Okay 5.0
Cons: Did not feel welcome
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The owner was really nice, we asked for advice and she went out of her way to help us! We are so grateful for her help which made our vacations in the islands so much better!!! Her breakfast is really good (japanese breakfast) They also have dogs outside that are very friendly!
Good 7.9
Pros: The owner has 4 dogs which delighted my son. He was also very kind with my son who followed him for walks with dogs and helped him with a bit of housework. He rewarded my son with a snack and that him very happy :D
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Shiraho is a very quiet but interesting neighborhood. The villagers put in a lot of effort to preserve their traditions and the natural environment. The coral reef at Shiraho is very worth seeing if you can snorkel. The guesthouse owners were super helpful in providing me with information of the neighborhood and booking the local snorkelling tour. Sachi-san cooked yummy breakfast and dinner every day. The WWF conservation centre in the village has a very good exhibition about local fishermen's livelihood and the corals. You can borrow a village guide map from the guesthouse for a heritage walk around. The beach is just a stone throw away. There were even fireflies! Bus stop is near. Make good use of the bus pass and you can get to the main attractions on Ishigaki.
Good 7.1
Pros: Well kept place. Bright and clean. Friendly dogs. Like the home-cooked dinner and breakfast. The gentleman Host even sang for guests during dinner time.
Cons: I had a confirmed reservation with Booking.com and did not think I had to contact the Minshuku before my trip (given the day we are due to check in the Typhoon No. 9 would already have left Ishigaki). So when I called before my checkin on 8 August 2019 for our 2-night stay I was quite surprised to find out that our room was no longer available! We (my husband and I, with our 2 children) had to scramble to quickly for a place to stay for the night (and finally find somewhere triple the price). Luckily the Minshuku still had a room for us on the 2nd night. I did apologise upon our arrival at the Minshuku (as I later realised maybe I should have called given the typhoon, and also because we were late, as we had no data on our phone and wouldn't find the location of the Minshuku on our car GPS with just their phone number - so be warned, please get their Map Code), but we had a very lukewarm welcome from the Hosts. They saw our car approaching and made no effort whatsoever to come greet us, the lady Host only stood up to greet us when we opened the front door with all other guests turning their eyes on us. But I do appreciate she at least care to put up a cool yet polite face and manner when showing us around. Her manner remained to be way too cool (although polite) even at our checking out.. So even the Minshuku was nice, I cannot say that I had a nice stay... ;(

Excellent 9.0
Pros: We liked quite a number of things! The hotel and grounds were beautiful and immaculately maintained. Our room was very good size and the view of the ocean was tremendous. Loved the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Dinner at Saltida's was oishii katta desu and the service was wonderful.
Cons: NO COVID RESTRICTIONS! Looking forward to the day when the pool bar is open and drinks are served at dinner. It will really be a big improvement to the overall experience. It would be nice to have a microwave in the room too.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Great room, excellent pool and beach activities. Very friendly staff and excellent service.
Cons: All food options were very expensive. Way higher than when we stayed 2 years ago. So we ended up eating out more than we would have wanted. Food quality was good but prices were higher than they should be (considering similar meals at other hotels).
Excellent 9.2
Pros: - Great location - Pool and beach access available - Great service - Many restaurants to choose with good food - Big room with ocean view - Floating breakfast (extra fee) - Buffet breakfast at Saltida is super good - Good for honeymoon - Lots of activities to choose and the staff will help you organize - Try the cabana at the pool Cons: - Not budget friendly - The beach area is small
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Despite all of the restrictions imposed by COVID 19, the staff goes to great lengths to ensure the comfort of this hotels guests. Great dining, immaculate rooms, great swimming pools .. ANA InterContinental Ishigaki continues to be an oasis in this beautiful island setting.
Cons: Everything was superlative. Keep up the great work.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Breakfast buffet was excellent, huge range of options for all tastes. Hotel staff were kind and helpful in all situations. Can borrow beach towels for the day from reception and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel. There is traditional Okinawan music every night at 8pm in the hotel. Room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. It’s a little walk to the main port but only 20 mins or so, good restaurants around the hotel and a little hotel shop for your snacking needs. Would stay again! We booked a snorkelling and hiking trip through the hotel and there were both really good.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Breakfast is huge, very tasty and will satisfy all guests - really good. The room for 3 people was the right size and overall the room was lovely with comfortable beds. The hotel feels modern and spacious, clean and smart. Live entertainment was nice and the tour booking office was great. The biggest bonus of the hotel is that it has its own bus stop! And most buses stop here - this was fantastic as we used the buses to get around the island. If you do not have a car, it is worth staying at this hotel for the bus convenience.
Cons: The only things we could fault are the pool and onsen opening hours. The onsen is only open for 2 hours in the morning (closes before 9am) and 6 hours in the evening which is inconvenient if you want to visit during the day. This isn't so bad, it's the fact the pool doesn't open until 11am, and again closes early. We barely used it because ideally we wanted morning swims, around 8-10am! Very annoying when we partly chose the hotel for the pool and in the 6 days we were there, only 1 of us went to the pool.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: I enjoyed very much the stuff who was kind and helpful! Breakfast was delicious and loved the French toasts!
Cons: Poor wifi in the evening
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Good breakfast, nice pool, good location, great for friends or family trip.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We booked with breakfast and were very glad that we did! It was nice to not have to worry about how we were going to get food before our day got started. We loved our hotel-provided pajamas (despite one of us being over 190cm). The in-house restaurant was good and all of the staff were exceptionally friendly.
Cons: Honestly, the only slight "complaint" was how firm the mattresses were. There were 2 different styles of pillows that were great and the comforter was nice, but the bed itself was almost painful.
Good 7.0
Pros: Nice hotel, cleanliness everywhere. There is a very nice pool with a small slide. Buffet breakfast included in our room rate.
Cons: We previously stayed for 5 nights…. Same buffet breakfast daily wire us down.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast Pool Tour desk
Excellent 9.6
We picked this hotel as my hubby and kid loves Japanese public bath. The female public bath isn’t as large as expected, but I was still satisfied with it. We picked a 2-double bed room with a sofa bed near the corner for 2 adults and 1 5-yr old kid. The room is big enough that we had plenty of room for opening our 2 big suitcases. The breakfast buffet starts early and ends early too (last entrance at 0915), so we had to get up early in order to have our breakfast. The range of food choices and quality is quite good. My boy especially loved the sweet potato there. Considering about the price and the quality, we will stay here again if we come to Ishigaki next time.
Excellent 8.0
Positive experience. Pros and cons of being a very big hotel : all type of services available onsite (tours, restaurants, small shop...) but many groups. Despite not being fully central in Ishigaki city, a short 15min walk is perfectly feasible. Several bus lines stop at this hotel. Good breakfast.
Excellent 8.0
Breakfast is good. 'No housekeeping system' is wonderful. I fully support this environmental friendly system.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Well located within minutes from the beach and a short drive from the airport. It is centrally located on the island with maximum 30-40 min drive to any location. It has free parking. It is well maintained, beautifully laid out, clean with large comfortable nicely decorated rooms, and a gorgeous bath/shower room. Quite zen for a relaxing stay. They have a BBQ restaurant on the grounds with a cozy atmosphere, but I did not eat there. The beach is within a minute's walking distance. Breakfast was good and prepared with care by the staff.
Cons: As on many islands on the ocean, plastic trash on the beaches is becoming an issue. Looked for some ways to help clean up part of the beach, but no one could point me to a place where I could get enough large bags and where to dispose of them. It appeared to me that the Island's government has not come around to taking care of the wild unmanaged beaches yet. The beaches are wide and mostly devoid of trash and fully useable. It is the upper parts near the mangroves where the garbage collects, there is a lot of it on some unmanaged beaches.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: All staffs are very nice.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The location and resort were great. The staff was even better. Breakfast and Dinner BBQ were delicious. The pool and beach allowed us to relax and have a perfect getaway in a beautiful setting.
Cons: The only thing that was missing were umbrellas for the beach chairs. Otherwise, we were provided with everything that we needed to have a relaxing and comfortable stay.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: * staffs are super friendly * the lunch was good and the BBQ dinner was awesome * nice bicycle for rental * the beach nearby is awesome * in general, the villa is great
Cons: * location is definitely a problem for living without a car- no convenient store / supermarket / restaurant (providing dinner) nearby. This place is recommended for those who have a car / car rental.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staffs are very nice. We arrived at the resort early in the morning and they allowed us to check in early and rest inside our villa. They are also attentive and replied to our emails promptly. The BBQ dinner and the venue were awesome.
Cons: nothing
Okay 5.0
Pros: Our bungalow was ok and spacious, nice bathroom
Cons: - definitely not worth the price, considering it’s rated as a 4*resort (??) - there was no service at all, no cleaning or even putting away the garbage for 4 days - breakfast was “self cooking” - the beach would be beautiful if clean, but unfortunately it’s full of garbage which was the only beach on the whole island like that
Good 7.1
Pros: It was quiet. That was the best thing about the place.
Cons: No proper housekeeping. We had to live with our trash for the whole stay. We have a baby so dirty diapers were in the trash as well.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Loved the room (we stayed in a villa)! Gorgeous and pristine!
Cons: we went during the off season so the BBQ facilities and restaurant were closed. If this is important to you, be sure to ask if its open prior to booking

Good 6.8
Good location, you can go shopping nearby by walking. and many restaurant can go by walking distant too.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: My rent-car was broken and the staff helped me enormously.thank you
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location is excellent! The room is bigger than the hotels. The tatami sitting room is so relaxing.
Cons: If the bathroom is a little bit small.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very spacious room by Japanese standard, tatami area, fully equipped, nice staff. Bus station just in front, good restaurant and big supermarket opposite the road
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Big rõõm.
Cons: Eberything was ok.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: location is very good, and they provide car park, but it is very hard to park into no. 3-7. there is a supermarket and a restaurant opposite the hotel. the room is bigger than lot of hotel in japan.
Cons: um... only one thing. if they can provide the kitchenware without fee would be prefect.
Good 6.3
Pros: The tatami area in the bedroom was perfect for our baby to crawl on (we did require extra blankets though to organise futon style bedding for our little one). Nearby shops and restaurants are a plus, we could find everything we needed. Nice beach just 10min by foot. Sign up (for free!) for WBF membership and you get a free coffee per day of stay! Basic but good value for money.
Cons: You are required to pay extra to get kitchenware but we managed without. Bathroom is a bit tiny but not worst than in other Japanese hotels. The close neighbourhood isn't great but not far from city centre.
Good 6.0
Pros: Location is good, it is half way between the airport and city centre next to a bus stop to each direction. Maezato beach is 15 minutes walk. Clean and friendly.
Cons: Parking was a bit of a pain, you need to go through the bus stop and park at quite a narrow space. There are only 2 bicycles at the property, 2 at all. We were four friends looking forward to going by bicycle to the beach and we were disappointed. The much advertised coffee was ok...
Good 7.5
Pros: Staff is very nice and helpful. Location is good, just in front of Aeon mall and about 15mins away to airport.
Cons: Air conditioner is not working properly. Very smelly inside the room.

Pros: I checked in around noon, because unexpected plan changing and I went directly from the airport. Obaa (the grandmother) welcomed me with shimasoba (local noodles.) Maybe because few people are traveling now, I could use a room with private entrance, kitchen and bath. Everything is clean and well equipped. The place is convenient, 10 min from the airport and 20min from the downtown. The place suits people who wants to stay more relaxed than downtown.

Pros: Nice and simple accommodation for a valuable price. The hosts were so friendly and even prepared a late dinner for us. Very easy and uncomplicated process to check in and out.
Good 7.1
Pros: Being outside of the city was nice, but close enough to get anywhere important. When we needed help the hosts were available and quick to respond.
Cons: Since we rented a car it was easy, and being on a bus route would help if you did not have a car, but not super close to amenities.

Good 6.0
Pros: The place is good for backpackers. The manager is a very flexible person. Had to change the booking for a hotel after one night and the manager did not hesitate to effect the change.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very nice host, everything super clean! Since there isn't any kitchen he provided me with a bowl and a spoon to have my cereal breakfast. The location is very close to the harbor, the bus terminal and many restaurants and Izakayas.
Cons: Unfortunately, there isn't any kitchen, just a microwave. The mosquito nets at my windows had holes so that I couldn't open the window at night.
Good 7.0
Pros: Nice futon, very Japanese building, lovely and traditional and very much what you pay for. Great location. I will definitely come back.

Excellent 8.8
This resort hotel is a bit west of the downtown centre, so if you're planning to go bar hopping, it'll cost you a good 3,000 yen for a taxi ride. Facilities are a bit dated but the rooms make up for it. We had two bedrooms with twin beds with an ocean view. Breakfast buffet is very good and staff are friendly. On the downside, only 1 elevator and no vending machine. The lounge has an amazing 1,100 yen all you can drink plan.
