Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great place to stay in Miyakojima, calm and confortable. Spacious kitchen to make meals and big bathroom.
Cons: The snorkelling equipment could be updated.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Very nice and helpful owners. Beautiful garden. Everything ist very clean; they really take care of the house and garden with lots of love. The kitchen is well-equipped. I stayed here for the third time, and every time it was great. (Currently -nov. 2019 - they have a warning on booking.com about construction noise. We did not hear anything, I think that they are extra-careful with this warning.)
Cons: It's no problem for me, but if you have light sleep, you might feel disturbed if loud other guests are staying.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful garden, quiet location and excellent host!
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The location was closer to some snorkeling beach but far away from city center. It is a new pension house and everything was really clean and tidy.
Cons: Noise and chats from guest next door could be heard easily.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Traditional Japanese rooms with the possibility to leave the door open to fall asleep to the sounds of nature. The Staff is super friendly and very helpful. Bycicle rental is for free.
Cons: Some insects around the house, so maybe not recommended for hypersensitive people.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location is unique...it was so peaceful and quiet. Staff really nice and helpful. Classic japanese tatami bedroom. I just loved it. Beware...the place is isolated, either rent a car or be prepared for some serious biking, like 10 kms to the nearest best spot for snorkelling, of paved but hill road (staff provided me with a fixed gear bike, with front basket and all, so it was kinda hard on the way up). There`s a lonely beach just minutes away though. 15 mins of cycling to the nearest family mart. No other business near. At night there are not street lights and it gets daaaark (bike had a front light but it was not near enough. Be prepared, I wasn't and used my smartphone light). I covered the whole island, and I was exhausted but happy. You seldom see people on this side of the island, and an ocasional vehicle every now and then. But I put these under "likes", because that was what I was looking for. As I said, if you're not one for adventure, just rent a car. It's cheap for japanese standars. Taxi from the airport was also cheap, 1600 yens, 15 min ride. On the way back, the staff called a taxi for me. Staff speaks almost no english, but they were so nice.
Cons: Nothing

Okay 5.0
Pros: Fantastic location on what is possibly the best beach on the island. Beautiful and huge gardens to the front and especially the rear of the hotel. Good hotel shops. The Coral wing superior twin was quite large and clean and everything worked fine. It had a wonderful view of the turquoise sea!! The bar/cafe food and drinks were expensive but the ambience was brilliant!! So enjoyable. It’s a huge hotel, so quite relaxing to walk around. Staff mostly friendly, if not so well trained.
Cons: You couldn’t help thinking that the sole objective of the hotel was to extract as much cash as possible from every guest with the minimum effort! The rooms are top price, but there was no welcome drink and they even wanted rent to use putters on the putting green!! A room leaflet said they also charge rent for a corkscrew!! That must be a first!! Unique!! Room … Twin beds different size and shape, mattresses very hard, no balcony chairs, no towel hooks in the bathroom, wall mounted television was off centre and although they had satellite channels all the non Japanese language channels were blocked off, so no international news or movies!! Perhaps unique in the world!! I’ve never experienced that before, even in Japan!! Definitely not an international hotel!! The really great hibiscus bath salts on the first day were not replaced until we requested them on each of our subsequent nights!! Why not?!! Dining … Nirai Kanai was kept freezing cold!! It took a long argument to be permitted to eat at a warmer outside terrace table at dinner and at breakfast!! Guest’s wishes should be happily accommodated!!! Food was ok. Not luxury hotel great, but not bad. There were no theme nights or entertainment, so rather basic and boring. Kind of three star. I canceled my Barbecue reservation, because I was told that although the food was ok, it was very expensive and very little. Guests had to cook their own food at their table, so not a real barbecue!! There are many guest rooms, but very few facilities. No fitness centre, no table tennis, no pool/snooker, no darts, no library!!! The children’s facility room was empty!! At night, the gardens had a few lights, but they were really quite dark!! They need to be lit with beautiful lighting so guest can enjoy a walk in beauty and safety!! My son’s family room was given two sets of towels for his family with the explanation that the number of towels corresponds to the number of beds, not the number in the family!! In a “family”...
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Well organized in a beautiful location. Staff was very warm and nice.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Beautiful beach, amazing sunsets. Comfortable clean rooms and great view from the balcony.
Cons: Food selection was quite limited, dining places close at 8pm with last order at 7pm - it’s too early for those who want to enjoy the beach and sunset and have dinner afterwards. Since there were no other dining options available nearby you have to stick to the hotel food, which was not bad, but not great and the choice is few.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Upon checking in, we were given a room on the highest floor, which had an excellent view of the pool and beach. There was easy access to Yonaha Maehama Beach from the Hotel and very clean shower facilities. We had a delicious BBQ on the second night at sunset and a very kind member of staff offered to take some photos of us. We could also hear frogs at night, which was really lovely and added to the relaxing, natural ambience.
Cons: That we couldn’t stay for longer!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: It’s clean and it has a very good view, the room is big and comfortable and the staffs are great!!
Cons: I think more improvement about the food in the restaurants 👍
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Property located in an excellent beach, staff are friendly and bilingual
Cons: Mm perhaps the price, but considering the location of the resort, is not too bad ...
Okay 5.8
Cons: The hotel is trying to charge me extra fees three weeks after checking out and paying in full. The beach was off limits after 6pm and beach access limited at all times. This information is written in their Japanese site but not on the English version. No explanation was given at the hotel verbally or in writing. In addition, at check in, the clerk promised to contact me later about the breakfast tickets. There was no contact from staff at all. I stayed at this hotel two years before with my Japanese wife and had an excellent experience. This time, with my kids but without my wife, the experience couldn't have been more different.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Very good food at the hotel!!

Good 7.0
Pros: The breakfast was wonderful with so many choices. The room was beautiful and it was very fun to feed the sea turtles!
Cons: It would have been nice to know ahead of time that they had a policy of no visible tattoos in the entire resort property. Living in Japan with tattoos, my husband and I are used to typical restrictions such as no visiting public baths or going to the gym with visible tattoos, but we weren't even allowed in restaurants here, and were told basically to cover up at all times even just in common areas like the lobby. If we knew ahead of time we could have planned better, or booked our stay somewhere else, but it was the middle of summer in Okinawa, so my husband didn't even have a pair of pants he could wear to cover the tattoos on his legs. We ended up being away from the resort more than at it because of this - which is a real shame since we paid for a very expensive room with a private pool, expecting very good treatment Also, I went to the front desk to book a massage and was told there was no availability. I'm not sure if this is because my tattoos were visible at the time, but I went back to the room very upset. My husband called the front desk, and was able to book an in-room massage with no hassle.
Okay 5.0
Pros: 1. Shuttle bus was good and convenient, for travel within the island hotel can help to call so it's good. 2. The whole resort is beautiful. Take some time to walk in the resort is very nice. 3. Many fancy pricy restaurants and only 1 that's reasonable price to family and don't need reservation. Love this one. 琉球の風. 4. you can feed sea turtles in the hotel which was fun!
Cons: 1. As many comment mentioned, the room really need renovation. Especially the bathroom. Shutters and floor tiles in the bathroom looks terribly old as 3 starts hotel, definitely not worthy this high price room. Glass not clear. Some door can't even open. 2. Breakfast was just ok level. Don't know if it's because in pandemic. Nothing too much to expect. 3. I thought it's a big brand hotel so was expecting a better level on English/ international customer support. It wasn't meeting my expectation. 4. As for the swimming pool in the room, if you try to move a bit hard, the water in the pool actually will easily splash out and goes to downstairs. I really wonder how they designed this. Basically you can only put yourself in the pool but not really do too much movement. 5. The photos of the room on the website and hotel were all taken on top floor of the hotel room which I guess is 4th floor. Anything below 4th floor you won't have that wonderful view of the sky and everything.
Good 7.0
Cons: WiFi was extremely spotty the entire time.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast selection was amazing and the food was delicious. Exceptional staff and facilities.
Cons: The Shabu shabu restaurant.
Good 6.0
Pros: Nice location if you like nature, huge resort, friendly staff, nice big onsen. Despite the outdated rooms and architecture, the resort provides a relaxing and cosy atmosphere
Cons: Breakfast was below average, definitely not 5 stars, no fresh juices but sufficient. Every little thing is charged extra, old rusty bicycle 30$ for a few hours, even a lousy quality gym costs extra, one hour later checkout charged, would be better to get your own golf cart as everything is remote and big and hard to get around (shuttle buses within resort work ok), a simple restaurant is missing, the Soba Restaurant over-priced and not good. Biggest problem: hotel completely outdated, desperately needs renovation. Shuttle service to town would be good as otherwise ‚trapped‘ in resort without even a conbini store
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This was my second visit to Miyakojima and stay at Shigira Bayside Suite Allamanda. As was my first visit, the whole experience at this impeccable resort facility was outstanding. Great staff. More than comfortable rooms with gorgeous views of the ocean which Miyakojima is famous for. Excellent restaurants with a very good balance of types of cuisines to choose from. The breakfast buffet was exceptional !
Cons: Every facet of our visit to this special island and this hotel was perfect, so there was not anything that we did not like. Please keep up the great work.
Okay 4.8
Very old hotel, I had cockroach in my room, not enough light for remote work. A standard outdoor pool that closes right when it gets dark, nothing to do after 6pm but stay in the room, not entertainment from the hotel. I was so bored I had to rent a car to go do things outside of the hotel although it was a super expensive hotel resort.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I liked the availability of having a beach in the resort that included diferent kinds of activities. I liked that my daughter got a photo with a frame as it was her birthday. The breakfast was really good, I liked the variety of option they had in the buffet and the different option on the brunch restaurant. For the room, we stayed on a lagoon suite which is the one that had a private pool. When we got to the hotel we were offered an upgrade to the 4th floor by paying a small price. We really liked the view from the 4th floor, you could see the rest of the hotel and the beach. The staff was always kind and trying to help with whatever we needed. My daughter is vegetarian and the staff was really helpful trying to fit some dishes for her dietary choices.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Shigira Bayside Suite Allamanda was an incredible experience for my wife and me. We visited Miyakojima during our honeymoon and had a wonderful time at this resort. We were upgraded upon arrival (complimentary) to the Royal Pool Suite, and it most certainly did not disappoint. Miyakojima is a very quiet, peaceful island with not a lot to do outside of the resort, but the resort itself was wonderful so it didn't bother us at all. Highly recommend for any couple wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of mainland for a relaxing experience down south. 5 stars!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location is great, right next to the beach and park, lots of restaurants close by, convenience store next door. Large and free parking. Wonderful breakfast, very tasty and with many varieties was very good. Very attentive staff, especially those who clean the rooms, it was very clean and tidy and even I asked not to clean they put a bag with all the amenities and clean clothes and towels at the door that was great thank you very much! 👏🙌. I will be back for sure. My room had a partial view of the city and the sea and I loved it. It is close to the airport and really has everything you need, excellent air conditioning and a very good bath, everything is perfect!

Excellent 8.8
The hotel is very nice, and the staff did their job well. However, it is difficult to travel during this time of the Global Pandemic. When people can travel, it would be nice and helpful if the hotel would make provisions to accommodate travelers for dining. With many restaurants having service restricions, it would have been helpful if Hotel Rising Sun could of made other spaces in the hotel available to bring take-out food back to the hotel and enjoy without having to eat in the small rooms. For example, their hotel dining space was only open during breakfast hours. This is when the hotel provided breakfast. We were not allowed to sit in the lobby with friends and eat and visit during other meal hours. Did I mention how small the rooms are?
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The breakfast was okay. Not loads of choice but what I had was tasty.
Cons: The pillows are quite big and firm. I prefer softer pillows but that's my personal preference.
Excellent 9.6
Very central location and excellent value of money. The buffet breakfast was nice too.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: location is perfect, hotel is quite new
Cons: no electric bike rental
Good 7.9
Pros: Room is a bit wider than standard japanese hotels. Perfectly clean. Coin laundry, microwave and vending machines available. Location was ideal because you can reach any spot in miyakojima within 25min by car. Right in front of the hotel there's a mall and some restaurants.
Cons: Parking was 500¥ per day. I understand they make good money out of it but other hotels give you parking for free. Staff told me there was no free parking around the structure but I found plenty of parking spots where to leave the car even overnight. Room has balcony but I'd rather have a slight bigger room without balcony other than a balcony that i can't use not even to dry the beach towel as birds poop on it. Plus i saw some spider webs so I'd never open that window. Staff or cleaner tried to enter in my room (when the room has been already cleaned) but has i placed the lock they couldn't get it. So they left without saying anything or apologize. I'm sure it was just a mistake but it's never a nice thing.

Poor 1.0
Pros: The location was good. Miyako Jima is a beautiful island.
Cons: As a small business owner, I usually cut businesses a lot of slack but I have to speak up about an absolutely horrible stay at the Miyako Breeze Bay Marine Hotel (part of the Shigira Seven Miles Resort). We paid 1,400 USD for myself and my daughter for a three night stay. The room had cockroaches, a horrible poop smell came up from the bath trap and the beach at the resort was closed due to a “typhoon” the day before the typhoon arrived. All other beaches on the island were open so we rented a car and swam at five amazing beaches. The service at the hotel is horrible. I have lived in Japan for over twenty years and speak Japanese so language was not the problem. The worst experience was the last night I was eating with 20 friends and they said I could not get the course menu that night because “there was no more food”. I wanted to pay for the course but was told “no food”. I was last to join the dinner party so accepted to eat buffet. I was told four times by the assistant manger “not to share my buffet with anyone”. It was like I was five years old. Got the message -no sharing my buffet. However, When I sat with everyone else they served me the course appetizer as everyone else. I was confused, so before eating we checked that everyone else had their appetizer plate. Everyone else had their plates so I started eating the appetizer assuming maybe they found food. Half-way through the appetizer the waiter came up and took it away saying, “no you buffet”. I said ok, but let me finish so you don’t waste the food. He said “no throw away”. Absolutely crazy behavior. I served myself buffet all night (not a problem). Note: The course and buffet looked very similar. When coffee was being served out of a coffee carafe, I asked if I may have some since they were serving my party and again I was told “no you buffet”. It was being served out of a carafe, not being made one by one.
Excellent 10.0
The staffs are very friendly. Thank you.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The location of the property is great! The buffet breakfast kept us going for the entire day. The food options and the onsen nearby make it an easy stay for couples or families alike.
Cons: The english ability of the hotel staff could have been better but it still didn't pose a problem. More drink machine facilities in the main building would help.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Garden and pool is nice.
Cons: When we arrived we were welcomed in a beautiful shiny lobby of the hotel. When we arrived at our room we were welcomed by animal feces next to our room door.( I guess it's still there.) The kitchenette wasn't cleaned for ages. Coffee stains, mold, dirt...same with the dishes and table. I insisted that the room was cleaned again. It was better but not clean! Before corona this would have annoyed me - these days it worries me. I wonder if an appropriate corona cleaning has been done!?! If it is impossible to perform a normal cleaning.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very convenient location with free shuttle bus to beach and onsen. Open air onsen is great. View from our room in annex was breath taking. Excellent breakfast with lots of fruits and veg. Shigira beach is great for snorkel. Very nice food village across the road for dinner.
Cons: Hard to communicate without Japanese
Good 6.4
The hotel is located in a great area of Miyakojima. There are nearby places to go snorkeling and also a lookout point to see the sunrise. The room was disappointing. Huge space but two single beds is not comfortable for a couple. The beds were not meant to be put together. The chair in the room did not look comfortable. There were many scratches on the wall and we felt the room was old. What made this disappointing was the cost. I didn't think the cost of the room matched the quality. The buffet breakfast was one of the good points of the stay. This place should be cheaper or the quality of the room should be better for the price we paid. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Okay 4.0
Pros: house itself is ok,the main problem is traffic, far from everywhere, without renting a car you can hardlly go anywhere, bike rental is available but from everywhere is really far to so far, nothing other than ok. fortunately i stayed only two nights, i think one night stay is enough, won't be back to Miyakojima,
Cons: traffic is extremally unconvenient.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely guesthouse in a quiet area. Staff were very friendly also and picked us up and dropped us off at the airport no problem. Would recommend and definitely stay again if We ever returned
Cons: No complaints at all.
Good 7.1
Pros: Warm welcome. Big open plan guest room. Draft beer option. Washing facilities. Cute dog!
Cons: Male dormitory bit cramped. Warm compared to rest of house. Bunk not so comfortable but hey it's a bunk I guess. More comfy sofa in TV room needed!
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Meg and Shu San were very friendly and helpful. Meg was able to offer lots of recommendations in the local area to explore - restaurants, cafes and activities. Would recommend to English speaking international travelers as some places on the island have limited English but Meg communicates well :)
Cons: Nothing we didn’t like :)
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Great facilities, staff were friendly and very helpful with not only questions about the guesthouse, but also information about snorkeling and tides. The beds were firm but comfortable, good pillows.

Good 7.0
Pros: Central location
Cons: Shuttle to airport needs to leave earlier or be adjusted to the flight schedule , otherwise it's pointless.
Okay 5.0
Pros: The location is very central, the beds are comfortable and one of the staff was very nice to me (the one who was accommodating about the bicycle and the wi-fi), so thank you to him!
Cons: Although the location was good, as it is central, I found the amenities lacking and very old, especially for the price. It might be the cheapest option around but... compared to some guest houses I stayed at on other islands for a third of the price.. it's a little too much in my opinion. The staff was nice and tried to accommodate but one of my first mornings, I was woken up at 8am from the reception phone and they ask me if I had left my phone somewhere? It was odd and obviously a mistake, but not a very pleasant wake up call. I rented out a bicycle, which was of the worst quality (it hurt my bum so so bad) but at least the staff who rented it to me was very nice, and didn't charge me after hearing my feedback. On the second day, the wi-fi dropped completely and I couldn't do some of the work I was supposed to, but they changed me rooms straight away, which was nice but a little hectic. One thing I don't understand though... no one comes to make your room? No cleaning, no changing towels, only a plastic bag at your door with new towels. I am not sure if it was because of Covid but I wasn't told that there was a disruption of service when checking in. To me, when you stay at a HOTEL (not hostel) and pay the price, they should at least come and make your bed, as well as changing the bins.
Good 7.5
Pros: Great locations, there are a lots of restaurants just down the street, sad thing is that they usually open at 5pm / 6pm, better also book for the breakfast as the convenience store nearby are always out of food, and restaurants that serve breakfast lunches are 10 - 15 mins away from the hotel.
Cons: This is a remote island, there's not much to offer by the hotels there, not many facilities / entertainment within the hotel meaning you'll have nothing to do especially this is place that always has storms hitting these islands.
Good 7.9
Pros: Location is excellent if you're wanting to explore Miyako and enjoy local restaurants
Okay 5.8
Pros: Centrally located , pleasant staff on front desk and in cafe. They take pride in their work and will help you as best they can.
Cons: Hotel a bit dated and limited English spoken by staff. Was given breakfast voucher but not explained it’s optional and would be added to bill. Room was clean and compact and had everything you would need for an overnight stay.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Every staffs were kind and polite.
Cons: Breakfast wasn’t over expected. Actually lower.
