Excellent 8.0
Pros: The hotel is located in a beautiful landscape, perfect for hiking and to watch the stars at night. Both breakfast and dinner were really delicious and the staff reacted very friendly to my friends special food requests, both in advance as well as on the spot. But the best about this hotel it's is huge onsen facility with various types of water.
Cons: Out of the haori provided in our room one smelled really badly. Everything else was fresh and clean, just one must have been misplaced or not properly washed. The hotel bar I wanted to visit in the evening was unfortunately closed.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: clean room, quiet, very nice bath
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The breakfast is good. The hot spring is good. The traffic to/from he hotel is not convenient but they offer very good dinner package. so you won't worry about the dining.
Cons: The hotel's location is a little remote so the public transportation is not very convenient. but still you can plan ahead to avoid any inconvenience.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The hot spring and the forest
Cons: The staff can be more welcoming, the room and facilities are a bit dated.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The onsen is really huge. The location is great with wonderful view over the mountains. The staff are helpful and friendly.
Cons: The amount of breakfast was not enough for a huge number of travellers when the time I travelled there.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Place suit for family :) A bit pricy but seems my parents like the cedar woods and their hot spring !
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The room is clean and comfortable. Have a big hot spring and let me relaxed. I will return when I travel there again.
Good 6.7
Pros: Away from those Hot Spring hotel and very quiet. The big pools of hot spring and the garden next to hotel are impressive. The dinner and breakfast just so so. Facilities are old but so far is clean.
Cons: It is not that value of money.
Okay 5.4
Pros: The staff are nice. Onsen is huge.
Cons: Everything is so outdated. Food is so so too.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Silent and comfortable environment. Facilities are clean. Onsen is great!
Cons: Location is a bit remote but still fine if you would like to enjoy a silent place.

Excellent 9.2
Loved my stay here as I visited Kirishima. The large hot spring bath was so nice and the sauna was legit. They have a gym and a swimming pool for extra charge which I didn’t use but really wanted to if time allowed! Staff were nice and the hotel itself is super clean and comfortable with high quality bed. Only thing is it’s not so convenient if you want to pop out for grocery shopping if you don’t have a car.
Good 7.0
Pros: Receptionists were nice and gave us some advices on restaurants in the area. Breakfast was ok.
Cons: Wifi only available in the room.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The facility well-maintained. The breakfast is beyond my expectation, it’s exceptional. The corner annex room is cheaper and more spacious.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Comfortable room, nice spa & sauna, excellent breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: There must be at least 10-12 laminated cards for various things in the hotel room. These are really annoying if you're trying to clear a space to do some work!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything
Cons: Everything
Good 7.9
Pros: There’s a public bus from the airport which it’s really convenient!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The onsen facilities were amazing. All of them. It was a very relaxing stay. I went to many places before here so I was quite exhausted. Highly recommended full board - breakfast and dinner were awesome.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: I’ve stayed at the top floor with a great view. The room was very comfortable and breakfast excellent. The best are the SPA facilities: you could spend hours there!
Good 7.2
Price is higher because of there are not many hotels in this area. It has good views and is next to bus stop for accessing hiking trails using public transportation. Rooms are clean, and although hotel is bit old it is still maintained well enough. Staff are nice.
Okay 5.2
This place is basically a time machine that takes you back to the 80s, so so so old. It honestly feels like the haunted mansion in Disneyland. Staff are very helpful land friendly which is one of the only better things here plus the outside onsen.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: just besides the bus stop good outdoor bath fantastic service delicious food
Cons: non auto lock door
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room is big and comfortable.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very good hot spring and dinner.
Cons: All the services were good, but not sufficient for the price.
Good 7.0
Pros: Location and service are pretty good especially the hot spring .
Cons: Weak power of hair dryer, WiFi connection
Excellent 10.0
Pros: excellent helpful staff, clean and spacious room, good quality onsen onsite, nice dinner and breakfast, reasonable room rate, will come back again.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Onsen is good, food is good
Cons: The control of air conditioner for the temperature is limited, just got high, mid and low.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast buffet provides many choices of food. Location is excellent. Right next to the onsen market and maruo bus station. Easy to travel to different parts of Kirishima and the Kagoshima Airport. Hotel is a bit old but the facilities are well-maintained. Different kinds of onsen are nice. View from the room is very nice.
Cons: Dinner is ok but not good enough.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Nice and kind staff, small but good onsen. Great CP value.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: This "minshuku" is an older-style building and provides a different sort of experience from staying in accommodation in cities. All the other guests were Japanese, so it's important to remember to change from shoes to slippers (and vice versa) where appropriate. It's also in a small onsen (hot spring) town (Maruo Onsen), so the minshuku actually has its own small hot spring / mineral bath, which was really good. There aren't many restaurants around in the small town, so I opted for the "breakfast included" option. That was the right decision. The Japanese-style breakfast was excellent, was a little different every morning and was great value for money. The dining room downstairs was a comfortable, warm temperature, and Japanese tea / hot water was provided in a thermos / jug in my tatami room. The room itself was sufficient for my needs and the futon was very comfortable. (A softer base is provided too in case sleeping on the futon and tatami feels too hard.) The older ladies working there are extremely friendly but I don't think they speak much English. I asked if they provided an evening meal but it would have been extremely expensive. I found another cheaper, excellent local restaurant about 10 minutes' walk back towards the "town". I hired a car as any buses were infrequent and involved changes and delays. Again, that was the right decision. That enabled me to get to various hiking spots, other "onsen" (some wonderful, atmospheric places in the area) and the Open Air Art Museum, which is well worth a visit. Kirishima Jingu and its surrounding area is also worth visiting. This place was excellent value for money and a perfect base for visiting the Kirishima area. I would certainly stay there again. A really enjoyable, different experience overall.
Cons: After making my initial reservation, I didn't get any answers to some questions I had. That was probably because the people there don't appear to speak much English. I was a little concerned by that but my booking and the actual payment (in cash only) all went very smoothly. The outside door is locked at 9 pm. It seems a bit early at first but then again, you're in the countryside and if you've been out exploring the area during the day, had dinner, then an "onsen", you're probably ready for an early night anyway.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Affordable and close to the bus stops to ebino kogen and kirishima hiking trails.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The excellent courteous and attentive service
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The hostess is kind and helpful.
Good 6.3
Pros: We stayed at different Minshuku's on our trip across Kyushu. This place was very basic and wasn't as comfortable as others. It is located south of the town center, which is still in walkable distance. We found a nice restaurant in town. Although it was not perfect, it still was a good base for trips to the region.
Cons: -
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Good breakfast and onsen bath. Excellent B&B to stay for day trip hiking to 韓国岳 and 高千穗峰.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Compared to other places in Maruo Onsen, this guesthouse is so much cheaper, but it is still extremely clean and comfortable. It's a ten minute walk to the main bus stop which brings you pretty much anywhere around the area. I love how you have your own sink and toilet attached to your room.
Cons: Sometimes it felt like the staff were a bit impatient with me, but other than those few moments they were extremely warm and welcoming
Excellent 8.8
Very friendly hosts, good food (also the dinner we had ordered separatly, in advance), and very good: Onsen! By car easy to find.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The owners really made me feel at home. I never met such polite hosts: they took care of me like they were my grandmas, providing me with snacks, tea and suggestions. Room was really clean and already warm. Although I'm not used to some flavours, I really appreciated the Japanese breakfast. The place is far from Kirishima-Jingu Station, but near the bus stop to Ebino Kogen. ありがとうございました!
Cons: Everything was ok!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Quiet and parking was cheap and available
Cons: Nothing everything was ok.
Good 7.0
Pros: Location is about a 5 min walk to restaurants. 711 is located few mins walk too. Nice size tv in room.
Cons: Don’t provide coffee in room. Rooms are small like a typical Japanese business hotel.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: the hotel and the locality is good and every staff is good
Cons: the bed size is too small, they mentioned it as a semi double bed, but it was too small to fit two people
Okay 5.0
Pros: Good location. Room clean.
Cons: Wifi signal weak sometimes. Microwave only on the 1st floor. My room was on the 7th floor (top floor), so going down everytime to use the microwave was a bit annoying. Should have a microwave on every floor or at least in the middle floors (3rd or 4th). Walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbors flushing the toilet, talking in hallway, etc... The bed was the worst of all during my stay. The mattress is too soft, I prefer when it is more firm. Sleeping on this mattress was like sleeping on a water mattress almost, not steady at all. You sleep on the right side of the bed and the left side is going up. Not comfortable, couldn't sleep well.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff were so friendly and helpful with bus and train times. Even though I had so little Japanese, they were very kind and patient.

Excellent 9.6
The whole complex is nicely designed, staffs are attentive, food is nice with special local dish chicken sashimi- it sounds scary but actually tasty, in our room there is two onsen tub one indoor and one outdoor- authentic sulphuric onsen water. By the dinner time you enjoy upstairs your “bed” is already well laid on tatami when you return. Shampoo, face moisture, hair products they served are high ended local japanese brand!
Excellent 10.0
Spacious room with outdoor and indoor onsen, delicious breakfast and dinner, close to convenient store, nice and helpful staff, it was perfect for vacation

Excellent 8.0
Pros: This place was very convenient for my hiking trip. I'm glad it was available so last minute. It met all my needs.
Cons: The bath tub and shower seemed kinda gross. It also had a weird sulfur smell, like rotten eggs.
Good 7.6
The hot springs are very nice and comfortable. Surrounded by nature, it can be difficult without a car. The meal was also very delicious. Facilities other than hot springs are a little delicate.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast was extensive but very Japanese. Virtually no international choices. The quality was definitely good, without a doubt, but for us it was limited in choice w.r.t. non-Japanese options. Very peaceful location close to many hot springs and the hills. Beautiful scenery around, but make sure you have your own transportation, as the location is only close to a very small town and relatively remote. But it's an easy jump for day trips in the hills around with many interesting places to visit besides just hot springs. Great also for nature walks. The (Japanese) room was sizable - we were upgraded to that room as we could only book it originally for 1 night only due to availability. That was a well-appreciated gesture. The hot spring pool in the hotel is open early and until past 11 pm, which is nice option after a long day.
Cons: Breakfast starts early and no new arrivals after 08:30. Closes prompt at 09:00. Which means even if you're on a leisure vacation, with young kids and getting them ready you'll have to get up at the crack of dawn to ensure you don't miss breakfast. There should be a bit more flexibility there. Check out is at 10:00. Receiving a call at 10:01 because we were not at the front desk yet (having luggage and 2 young children to bring from different towers through different elevators) we found a bit insensitive. We were at the front desk at 10:05... Come on guys!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The price is well justified
Cons: Onsen was under renovation
Excellent 8.3
Pros: It is easily accessible by public transport or by car from the KOJ airport. We had a mountain view room heading to the onsen street seeing ample white steams.
Cons: Our guest room needs renovation to the toilet and bath in the coming schedule as I thought they are the most frequent occupied and worn out part and area. The south wing had been under renovation and some onsen facilities were closed. Garden terrace will be a good relaxing place filled with season plants though I didn’t enter and enjoy in winter time.
Good 7.1
Pros: They well indicated the public transport in the web. However, one should draw particular attention to each of the station and bus stop in their local name. The panorama onsen was magnificent. The room were also spacious with good view.
Cons: I arrived the Hotel around 14:00 before their official check in time. I wondered if it was the rest time for the staff so that they were not keen for my registration. The staff allowed my luggage to be left in an open area aside from the counter and without any guarding. I was quite surprising that there was no staff to be attended in the counter and lobby. They could only be shown up until you ring the bell. Besides, as crowds of outsiders could admit to the panorama onsen, I could only enjoy a calm and peaceful bath until the early morning. Since the Hotel accommodated a lot of guests, the Kaiseki dinner was served in a big dining hall with a rapid pace. They also provided different dinner menus which were not stated in the Booking.com.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Room is clean and large. Good view. Very polite staff. Hot spring facilities very good.
Cons: The building and internal structure is quite old but clean. The glass rail of the room balcony was cracked and not repaired.
Excellent 8.0
Huge hot spring area like a swimming pool. Large hotel room, nice buffet dinner & breakfast. Overall is good, value for money, will come again!
Good 7.1
Pros: They arranged dinner inside room
Cons: The toilet facility is old
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Staff are very helpful. They make every possible means to arrange shuttle bus (free of charge) for us. Both indoor & open air onsen are good.
Cons: Room is a little bit old & renovation is needed.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Nice view. Good breakfast. Good Onsen.
Cons: Little bit old facilities.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very good and relaxing onsen facilities. Good room view. Very good traditional japanese dinner in room.
Cons: very old room furniture and some smoke smell.
Okay 4.6
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The hotel is very old, smelly and dirty. The food at the buffet is nothing special, it is more like a cantine.

Good 7.0
Pros: Stayed in a suite room. Stayed on a high floor with a good view of Sakurajima in the distance. Very large room with big bathroom area. Comfortable for the one night we stayed.
Excellent 8.8
Sure, it’s designed in the 80’s style and is a little stale but for the price, the friendly staff, the large clean rooms, the hot spring baths, and most of all - the phenomenal view of Mt. Takachiho, this is one of my favorite stops in the region. Great for families. A car is necessary for access.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Location and car park.
Cons: Broken noisy fridge. No complementary slippers or water Dinner £36 pp Breakfast very poor and limited everythimg cold and prepared. No cleaning unless you asked. Hotel run for staff nit guests
Okay 5.8
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: Dated rooms
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Good rooms and location.
Cons: Staff were quite rude and the hotel didn’t have anything open after 9pm. I was also ordered out of the restaurant on both nights.
Good 6.7
Pros: The beds were comfortable. The onsen was nice. The accomodation is conveniently located for the national parc.
Cons: The place is relatively expensive, especially given the fact that the place is worn out. We had some form of water leakage in the room. The place really needs some renovation.
Good 7.5
Pros: Spacious room, very nice mountain view
Cons: Washroom too small
Good 7.1
Pros: The rooms are big . Great view around this area . Close to the farm . Nice hot spring .
Cons: The front desk staff was not friendly . When we check out , we told he to separate 3 rooms into 2 different bills . Maybe because he cloud not understand my English very well . Therefore , he have to re-do again . But I can feel his unfriendly from his face . The rest are fine .

Good 6.0
Pros: The hotel is close to the airport. There is nothing else to commend it.
Cons: The onsen and sauna were closed. The room was fine, but rundown and drab.
Good 6.0
Pros: It is less than 10 mins walk from Kagoshima Airport, and (we didn’t request it but) they will pick you up from the airport. The staff are very polite, helpful and friendly. There's a good quality air filtering/humidifying unit in the room. Yukata robes and other amenities provided. There's an onsite bathhouse - closed for the time being, unfortunately, due to the pandemic, but that can't be helped.
Cons: Check-in was a little cumbersome. There’s an ATM-style check-in machine where you have to input all your details. Somehow, the first-name/surname order of my name didn’t match their records, so it had to all be input again. (But a staff member kindly helped out.) Then you pay at the machine using your credit card. Then it spits out two different pieces of paper that you have to take over to the front desk for more processing by a human! The facilities are old, and it shows here and there. The door doesn't lock automatically when you close it. You have to physically lock it every time you leave.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Their airport shuttle was incredibly convenient for an early morning flight!
Cons: The room was quite hot, as they have central heating, so I had to keep my window open all night which made it a little warm.
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: Location very convenient
Cons: Not so clean, not well maintained, facilities closed...
Good 7.0
Pros: Bed was comfy and big... Hotel spacious and good restaurant and onsen
Cons: Due to Corona Restrictions the onsen was closed, which would have been nice to know about before, but well, not really their fault. Pillow was pretty typical japanese, maybe ask at reception if you can have a bigger one, if u need one.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was very friendly. My wife and I brought frozen food from 7/11 and there was not a microwave in the room. The front desk took the time to heat up our food and were very nice.
Excellent 10.0
Staff was outstanding. They went above and beyond to help me. Buffet was good. Onsen was great. Shuttle to airport. But the help from everyone is what made my stay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Mostly everything. I couldn't find anything wrong with the rooms.
Cons: The only thing if anything that would be a minus is that the closest convenience store is about a 10 minute walk away. Though some might find that that is ok, I would have preferred a closer convenience store
Excellent 10.0
Pros: They didint have washmachine so i washed my clother in bath tub and dryed it with a hairblower😁😁😁🦍🦍🦍
Cons: It was amazing!!!
